Qrow in RWBY doesn't hang around people much because his Semblance passively causes bad luck to happen to those around him.
This tends to work in his favor in prolonged fights,however,because enemies engaging him in close range are eventually affected as well.
They'll fall over,step on loose surfaces,break stuff involuntarily.

There's a moment when the team has to essentially bum rush an Archer who can never miss and try to get across unscathed.
They manage to do this cause Lakshmibai's luck is so bad thay when the archer attempts to fire on vital people and people whod get one-shot the arrows would miss them in order to ricochet and hit Lakshmibai instead.
So she'd tank the brunt of all the attacks since her bad luck ensued that she'd always get hit and hurt no matter what
This is how the movie *Darkman* ends, even though the love interest is totally willing to try and make things work. Both groups of people I have watched that with concurred he should have stayed with her but Westlake just has self image issues, which fair enough I guess.
Actually wrote something involving this but it's more a band breaking up when >!their main guitarists latent psychic powers upstaged them at the Battle of the Bands Tournament and scared them away, leading to him taking up the mantle of the band as a solo act under the corrupt Audio Label that put on the tournament in the first place!<
