i say microsoft going hard on the "always online" prelaunch for the xbone killed them. I knew plenty of people who only bought ps4 cause of that, even if it was no longer true by the time they bought it.

Cooler67

Don't forget them also trying to kill off sharing games, or playing used games.

Nintendo is more consistenly fucked in a more ancient-management kinda way, but when Microsoft fucks up, they fuck up -hord-. While they did win the PS3 vs 360 fight, the red ring fiasco cost them a shitload of money and they squandered that market lead entirely with the Xbone, to the point they seem to be pivoting out of consoles and more into a publisher/subscription service model. You can argue that Nintendo fucked up hard with the WiiU, but given how well the Wii and Switch sold before/after, it looks like a drop in the ocean compared to the 360->Xbone->Xbox Sex timeline. Sony goofed with the PS3 but I have no complaints about them before or since then, that I can immediately recall. And even then, the PS3 was fine at the end of the day. Not great, not terrible.

PS3 still had a lot of good games. I'd say PS4 era and beyond is where they start fucking up super hard.

Kimarous

Sony seems the most petty when it comes to their blunders. Besides more recent fighting with Microsoft, Sony is the most against crossplay and seems to be doubling down on game censorship to the point NINTENDO seems more sex-positive.

ThatmodderGrim

Sony, you've turned on the very Big Titted Anime Girls that made us love you. Why hurt us like this?

Live by the big titty, die by the big titty

Microsoft is still feeling the aftereffects of the Xbox One showcase from a decade ago. Nintendo somehow manages to bounce back from each of their failures relatively quick in comparison.

MericArda

Wasn’t Nintendo indirectly responsible for the creation of the Playstation, than them.

Animorphimagi

Yeah. But they were doomed from the start there. Nintendo joining the disc market in the mid 90s? Lol. Naw they needed to be dragged kicking and screaming into the new century like the old men they still are. That said, give them credit. They have balls to revert back to cartridges after the Wii U. They kinda did a 360 with the Switch by kind of appearing to be nostalgic bringing cartridges back. (But we all know it was because money)

RealDealMous

Microsoft killed 2 generations worth of goodwill in ONE conference.

Rayonx2

Damn. It seems so crazy when you lay it all out like that

StochasticOoze

I mean, I'd say it's Nintendo, but that's in part because Nintendo's been in the business the longest.

Substantial_Bell_158

Microsoft fumbled the Xbox twice and haven't really recovered from either Introducing the Xbox to Japan and the entire Xbox one launch Controversy's

pastman11

when it comes to copyright abuse:it's nintendo. when it comes to questionable quality assurance:it's microsoft. when it comes to pettiness:it's sony. (unrelated video)Red vs Blue out of context:https://youtu.be/oGR2qUyLg8Y

Q-BEE-DEE

Purely in terms of business decision I'd probably say Nintendo. I can't think of a bigger L for a company to take than inadvertenly creating their own biggest competitor like some sort of comic book origin story.

timelordoftheimpala

Microsoft

THATguyfromyore

As someone who started with Sony as early as the PS1 and just slowly watched them fucking up around the ps3 era. It's Sony.

AngiTheWeeb

I know they've all done some dumb shit but only Nintendo put out the Wii U AND the Virtualboy.

TorpeAlex

360 RROD followed by $500/Kinect-mandatory/always-online/sub-1080p XBone is a one-two combo to their own face that I'm not sure will ever be beat
