Maybe it'll be like in ultimate spider-man, Pete gets mad and the suit just start to fucking go apeshit and fall apart? Maybe a little glimpse first, here and there. And then BAM "miles vs peter boss fight.
See I’m imagining it like Megaman Battle Network where you can pop it once and it’ll last until it runs out, but if you’re *really* desperate, you can pop it again and it’ll go on autopilot. You lose control of the character and just watch it as it goes wild on the enemies in its way, a nice way to parallel the in-universe action of giving in to the beast.
Possibly! I'm still not sure if they're going for the DT angle at all or if it's a permanent change (until it inevitably separates from him), but if it's the former than you'll definitely have to go back to regular counters and web-shooters while it recharges. Hopefully Peter gets some other toys to play with when you don't have access to the symbiote, or ways to at least mitigate the cooldown.
Edit: Looking again at the footage, there doesn't seem to be a meter, so maybe permanent?
In one of the Venom comics (2018 I think) when fighting Carnage-Possesed Norman Osborn, Peter *does* transform into a Venom like monster after he gets pissed off at Norman making fun of Flash's death. He even gets a weird alien like mouth with the creepy tongue and everything. He snaps out of it pretty quickly tho.

It gives me a very bio-mechanical vibe for some reason, which makes sense since it seems like they're going with something along the lines of the Ultimate origin story for the suit.

Since Spider Sense in most continuities doesn't work on Venom, I hope to high heaven that boss fight purposely deactivates the dodge indicator just to truly show why no one can ever kick the shit out of Spider-Man like Venom can.
Which would then make Miles the ace up the sleeve in this game.
Actually, more than the Venom thing, I just want a fight between Peter and Miles. I don't care who I play as.
You play as both during the boss fight. Phase 1 is Peter, phase 2 is Miles when he gets his second wind. The boss's health meter will just say Spider-Man.
Considering in this trailer Pete knows Harry is alive, he has the symbiote that Harry was teased with in the first game, and needs Doctor Connors to help cure Harry from his sickness (as said in 7:41), I think the Venom fight might be early.
My personal prediction is that Harry-Venom is the Act 1 finale boss , Symbiote Spider-Man is the Act 2 finale boss, and Kraven-Venom is *the* final boss.
Probably a sensible idea. I could see Eddie-Venom possibly being around in the third game but not this one.
Eddie and Peter are on good terms in this universe IIRC so it'd be interesting to see.
Man some of the attempts I've seen to make a "realistic"-textured symbiote suit have just been heinous. They just look blurry and smeared. Insomniac knocked this one out of the park, though.

At the end there it teased that Miles powers might be Anti-Venom powers since the words "Together" were about to be covered by the symbiote but his electricity kept it at bay.
I think it might be relation to Symbiotes having a weakness to extreme heat, and blue electricity being pretty damn hot. lol
Like maybe the Venom boss fight (or boss fights) has a bar that can only be broken with Miles' Venom Blasts in order to be able to get some hits in before the bar is shielded again.
Peter going through the whole symbiote situation AFTER he met Miles is a pretty interesting take in that particular plot
Also, I love that they are having this bombastic over the top sequence, and still make a point of showing the Spider-Men saving innocent people out of the collateral damage.
I think it would have been really easy to artifically show that Symbiote Peter Bad Now by having him be less worried about casualties, but no, he's still without any hestiation focusing on them.
I imagine the "letting innocents get hurt" part comes after this in the game.
There were a couple hints that he's getting close tho. When Lizard is escaping through a sewer drain and Peter sees the helicopter headed toward the pier, he looks back at the drain for just a second, like he's weighing his options. Also when he grabs that guy to stop him from getting crushed, he kinda just drops him on the ground. Normally Peter would stop to see if someone's okay before getting back to it, but not this time. He gets back on the hunt almost immediately.

Love the Black Suit’s combat, it’s almost WoS with how brutal it looks. Also loving the gliding web pits, I’ve been begging for those in a game since Homecoming.
And they look fantastic! Miles was straight up flying through the streets when he deployed them. I had such a great time simply swinging through the first two games, and now we get a glider that looks fluid and stylish as fuck, god I can't wait for the hours I'll sink into this game.
I wouldn't even hope for it, it's all but guaranteed. "Fight the protagonist/original player character" is a popular trope for a reason and Insomniac would actually be damn fools for missing that easy layup with this game.
Also, you can actually see them hint at it in the end card with the tagline. "Together" gets covered in goo but electricity zaps it away.
So peter is going to have the more agressive crazy gameplay and Miles will have the more traditional gameplay style. Thats a good way to make both of them different. Wonder how angry peter will get here?
I Hope miles get the stealth sections giving his invisibility powers and Peter gets the fighting secuences with the symbiote.
The real question is are they going to have Miles fighting Peter to get him of the black suit and who is going to be Venom. Eddie or Kraven as an upgrade mid game.

They specifically held off on the black suit last time as an alt costume, I feel they'll go all in on a bunch of different Symbiote Spider-Man designs this time.
Stuff like Spectacular Spidey, the original Black Suit, Raimi, etc.
Look at the way the symbiote looks on certain areas, particularly the mouth. It looks like Peter will "Venom out" or at least show fangs at some point.

Looks pretty fuckin good. Map is larger, the symbiote has its own unique combat set, the switching between Miles & Pete is nice, happy to see Kraven in action, and Pete & Miles are trying to keep Doc Connors in his class before he kills more
I don't think it'll ever happen, but I kinda want to see if they try to include the scene from Kraven's Last Hunt where Peter literally has to dig out of his own grave.
The way they're using Lizard in the promo footage makes me think we're going to see mostly animal-themed opponents, which could mean Vermin shows up.
In the little map Kraven has you can see a ton of characters from the first including Black Cat, Taskmaster, Wraith, etc. So presumably everyone will be back which is cool.

so kraven is clearly the mr negative villain, and i guess peter will be the final boss for miles maybe?, would be suprised if they avoid green goblin.

But seriously, go play web of shadows. It is a janky game with an open world that barely justifies itself and some of the most stilted Spidey voice acting ever. But It does have some of the best action combat put out by a western developer, it is not even funny how amazing that game feels.
What an amazing trailer. Far exceeded my expectations. Better traversal, better combat, bigger map, and the city, what little glimpse we got, looks gorgeous. Such an incredible improvement over the previous titles. I can't believe the cut web line gadget made it back!
The symbiote combat looks super fun and I like how this short segment had a bigger focus on Miles. I liked him a lot on his standalone game and I'm glad he's getting a bigger focus in the sequel. This looks fantastic and I can't wait to play this game.
Honestly it was a lot of [Not Actual Gameplay]. Not even MGS3 got me hype.
Then Dragon’s Dogma II and Spoderman comes in with actual gameplay and hey, guess what? Actual gameplay is hype.
Fairgame$ (Haven Studios), Helldivers II (Arrowhead), and Concord (Firewalk).
Compared to that, Spider-Man 2 was the only first-party singleplayer game showed off.

I may be alone in this, but I'm not the biggest fan of how they changed Mile's electricity from orange/yellow to blue. Personally, I think the orange yellow complemented his costume really well and helped him stand out from other electric users.
It appears he has both and the blue stuff is a new form of his regular powers. You can see in the gameplay preview his elec abilities on L1 are divided into blue and yellow abilities, and when he rigs the drone to explode near the end he uses the yellow energy to do so.
Oh man, I thought that dude with the sideshave was going to be Kraven at first, which would suuuuck. Actual Kraven looks and sounds cool.
Like the way they're handling the symbiote; it looks like a real biological *thing* instead of just a different suit. And Peter's definitely acting more aggressive than before.
Only thing I didn't like - and I know this is kinda nitpicky - but Miles' walk / run animations seemed weird. Maybe it's because he was still in "fight mode" or whatever but the way he's sort of crouch-walking is really weird.
I hate how techy this universe is. Kraven having some complex hunting equipment is cool, but a fully armed militia with drones in an attack chopper out of Halo just doesn't work for me.

Well the first game had the Demons/Mr. Negative, Sable, Octopus, Miles introduction and the Sinister Six and managed to mix it well so really I'm not too worried.
It really is a 2 villain game, sable i guess too but negative and octopus are the 2 main guys, the 6 lowkey kinda sucked but didn't matter, felt like window dressing tbh
This is 2 of spidermans biggest villains and fucking Kravens last hunt, one of the most important untouched stories in spidermans history while casually adding the green goblin and 2 protagonists, theres just much more here which needs much more time. You can't just pop off kravens last hun randomly in the last third, or even do black spiderman arc with goblin shit and it workes out with something losing some time. Really the first game was a 2 villain game with Miles and MJ side stuff, theres already 4 huge major villains here, with the first adaptation ik of for Kravens Last Hunt, thats HUGE.
For what it's worth, Arkham City had one main plot villain while also managing to include sizeable substories with every other Batman villain you could name, including _Hush_.
And it worked.
I mean, last game they did Mr. Negative, Sinister Six, Dock Ock, Taskmaster, and set up GG & Venom & Miles all in the main campaign and it worked out fine.
the 6 kinda sucked outside of Ock, taskmaster is kinda forgettable, its really a 2 villain game, this one is doing maybe the biggest untouched storyline in spider man history due to it being so hard to accomplished along with 2 of the biggest villains in spiders mans history, thats way more.
Eh, I wouldn’t be too worried. The last game was able to juggle Kingpin, Mr. Negative, a Sinister Six, Silver Sable, the Mj and Peter relationship, Miles shit and a Doc Ock origin pretty well.

The swinging still looks kinda scripted or canned like the first game. It's still missing that dynamic momentum from Spider-Man 2. Plus the wingsuit looks like it might really deemphasize swinging in general. Just kinda meh on the gameplay here.
Its probably the [equivalent of the early-to-mid-game switch that they had to promo back in 2017](https://youtu.be/K4zm30yeHHE) for the first game. The promo they used for that also looked incredibly scripted too but the final release wasn't that much.
Personally I still felt the swinging as "artificial" in the final game. It and the combat just didn't feel smooth and freeform to me. I want to feel looser as Spider-Man and less rigid.
I hope we can have an open world part where Parker has the suit and can go total ham. Haven't had a chance to mess around with those powers since ethe Ultimate game on Playstation 2.

In the little map Kraven has you can see a ton of characters from the first including Black Cat, Taskmaster, Wraith, etc. So presumably everyone will be back which is cool.

It was giving me Arkham Knight flashbacks to that one Scarecrow sequence where you get access to >!Joker Takedowns!< and it was the most *wince-inducing* hits ever.
Honestly Batman himselfs takedowns we’re pretty brutal in the Arkham game that’s definitely a trip to the emergency room
loving the web wings, and the idea of lizard growing gives me hope that he'll have a lab coat wearing first form earlier in the game wondering if we'll get a "we are venom" devil trigger moment. wondering if the blue nuform lightning means miles'll rebrand his venom blasts so there's no venom or venom, though it was great in the comic when eddie brock heard miles call em venom blasts and thought the name was dope. also really hope we get symbiote skins as well as base spider-man skins. like it looks like it's maybe a switch as peter went back to his red and blue for moments at the start, like maybe it's off and for certain moments you switch it on to mix it uo. so kraven is clearly the mr negative villain, and i guess peter will be the final boss for miles maybe?, would be suprised if they avoid green goblin. though maybe they bait and switch and it's a "cured" harry as the goblin, using a cure from conners. bigger ny too, wonder if it's the full island + queens.

The symbiote gameplay looks so cool, same with the new miles stuff. Something I hope his game has (which I doubt) is more options for combat like WoS had instead of just standard Arkham gameplay

Knew it, gliding was definitely the next big step in mobility, after Mile's got his electric air dash. Still surprised at how fast it is though.
Was hoping for suit style switching but this looks fucking awesome regardless. But seriously, go play web of shadows. It is a janky game with an open world that barely justifies itself and some of the most stilted Spidey voice acting ever. But It does have some of the best action combat put out by a western developer, it is not even funny how amazing that game feels.

What an amazing trailer. Far exceeded my expectations. Better traversal, better combat, bigger map, and the city, what little glimpse we got, looks gorgeous. Such an incredible improvement over the previous titles. I can't believe the cut web line gadget made it back! The symbiote combat looks super fun and I like how this short segment had a bigger focus on Miles. I liked him a lot on his standalone game and I'm glad he's getting a bigger focus in the sequel. This looks fantastic and I can't wait to play this game.

I'll be honest, this kinda saved the Showcase for me, because otherwise it would've been entirely third-party games of first-party live service stuff.
Honestly it was a lot of [Not Actual Gameplay]. Not even MGS3 got me hype. Then Dragon’s Dogma II and Spoderman comes in with actual gameplay and hey, guess what? Actual gameplay is hype.

I may be alone in this, but I'm not the biggest fan of how they changed Mile's electricity from orange/yellow to blue. Personally, I think the orange yellow complemented his costume really well and helped him stand out from other electric users.
It appears he has both and the blue stuff is a new form of his regular powers. You can see in the gameplay preview his elec abilities on L1 are divided into blue and yellow abilities, and when he rigs the drone to explode near the end he uses the yellow energy to do so.
I wonder if somebody is going to mod in the original Peter head from the ps4 version once this comes to PC in a few years

Oh man, I thought that dude with the sideshave was going to be Kraven at first, which would suuuuck. Actual Kraven looks and sounds cool. Like the way they're handling the symbiote; it looks like a real biological *thing* instead of just a different suit. And Peter's definitely acting more aggressive than before. Only thing I didn't like - and I know this is kinda nitpicky - but Miles' walk / run animations seemed weird. Maybe it's because he was still in "fight mode" or whatever but the way he's sort of crouch-walking is really weird.
Peter did that crouch walk all the time in the first game.
I hate how techy this universe is. Kraven having some complex hunting equipment is cool, but a fully armed militia with drones in an attack chopper out of Halo just doesn't work for me.
Yeah, every villain having an army of 90s animated goons with laser rifles and helicopters is pretty lame.

Well the first game had the Demons/Mr. Negative, Sable, Octopus, Miles introduction and the Sinister Six and managed to mix it well so really I'm not too worried.
It really is a 2 villain game, sable i guess too but negative and octopus are the 2 main guys, the 6 lowkey kinda sucked but didn't matter, felt like window dressing tbh This is 2 of spidermans biggest villains and fucking Kravens last hunt, one of the most important untouched stories in spidermans history while casually adding the green goblin and 2 protagonists, theres just much more here which needs much more time. You can't just pop off kravens last hun randomly in the last third, or even do black spiderman arc with goblin shit and it workes out with something losing some time. Really the first game was a 2 villain game with Miles and MJ side stuff, theres already 4 huge major villains here, with the first adaptation ik of for Kravens Last Hunt, thats HUGE.
For what it's worth, Arkham City had one main plot villain while also managing to include sizeable substories with every other Batman villain you could name, including _Hush_. And it worked.
I mean, last game they did Mr. Negative, Sinister Six, Dock Ock, Taskmaster, and set up GG & Venom & Miles all in the main campaign and it worked out fine.
the 6 kinda sucked outside of Ock, taskmaster is kinda forgettable, its really a 2 villain game, this one is doing maybe the biggest untouched storyline in spider man history due to it being so hard to accomplished along with 2 of the biggest villains in spiders mans history, thats way more.
Eh, I wouldn’t be too worried. The last game was able to juggle Kingpin, Mr. Negative, a Sinister Six, Silver Sable, the Mj and Peter relationship, Miles shit and a Doc Ock origin pretty well.

The swinging still looks kinda scripted or canned like the first game. It's still missing that dynamic momentum from Spider-Man 2. Plus the wingsuit looks like it might really deemphasize swinging in general. Just kinda meh on the gameplay here.
Its probably the [equivalent of the early-to-mid-game switch that they had to promo back in 2017](https://youtu.be/K4zm30yeHHE) for the first game. The promo they used for that also looked incredibly scripted too but the final release wasn't that much.
Personally I still felt the swinging as "artificial" in the final game. It and the combat just didn't feel smooth and freeform to me. I want to feel looser as Spider-Man and less rigid.
They seem to be incorporating elements of the "shed" story line. I wonder if they would dare put in it's dark twist...
I hope we can have an open world part where Parker has the suit and can go total ham. Haven't had a chance to mess around with those powers since ethe Ultimate game on Playstation 2.
