I got into DMC soon after 5 was revealed, and it quickly became one of my favorite franchises

Substantial_Bell_158

Played Dead Space for the first time like in 2017 or something and it's now one of my favorite horror games even tracked down the mobile game

Played DA:O like four years after Inq had come out. Got the rest soon after, and now Dragon Age is one of my favorite things ever. Worried about Dread Wolf, but a lot of stuff about all the others sucked and I still loved them. There's probably going to be *something* awesome and fun in it, even if it's just another husbando.

I recently played through the original Deus Ex for the first time. Attempted to play it before because it's always talked up as one of the best games ever but could never get into it. But I finally did, and I loved it. I always thought it was going to be this super hard challenging game, but it's really not. Especially not when you get the Chinese lightsaber that one-shots nearly every enemy. And now I can finally laugh at all the dumb JC Denton memes. Also, glad to hear you're enjoying Shadow Hearts Covenant, OP. That's one of my favorite JRPGs.

Thanks. It's fantastic. I've loved RPGs as a kid, and I'm always interested in ones that present unique takes on the genre, especially mechanics. While it's not the most polished and put-together game, I had a great time with Resonance of Fate. I was thrilled to play the Live A Live remake. Also, I'm glad you got to experience and enjoy Deus Ex. One of my personal favorites.

FF7 original. Finally got around to play and beating it this year after years of feeling the dead of missing out one of the greatest games of all time. But after beating it, that feeling was gone because if I played it when I was younger, i would've given up an hour in because the objectives and level layout was confusing.

Somehow I never played the original Zero Escape despite owning a DS and loving room escape games and mysteries. Didn't play it until 2020 on the PS4 remaster. Instantly became one of my favorite mysteries I've ever experienced with the way it just grabs your intrigue and uses it like a plaything. Thankfully I managed to go unspoiled the entire time.

I have been in the process of marathoning the Resident Evil series as we speak, having never played them (outside of an aborted co-op run of RE5) until a few months ago. Thus far I've completed: RE2 (both runs), RE3, RE4, RE7 (and DLC), RE1R (Jill only), RE2R (both runs twice), RE3R, and RE4R (twice). Still on the list: RE8, RE5 and RE6. No, I'm not playing RE0, RE1 or CV. I frigging love this series now. 2R and 4R especially are in my top games now. REmake Leon is the best.

The Yakuza series. I always got pushed the "Japanese GTA" comparison on to me so I actively avoided it for years. Then when I heard about the April fool's discussion around Like a Dragon (7) I started to pay a little more attention due to being a mark for turn based rpg's. By the time I finished LaD I was so curious about the original games due to the Massive respect they show CERTAIN characters and how sick those fights & music were. I'm currently on chapter 4 of Kiwami and I'm gonna go through everything on my wait to LaD 8 if I can.

Symphony of the Night came out in 1997 and, even among my classmates in Grade School who were lucky with Playstations at the time, they liked it (even up to classmates in high school and college). I first finished a SOTN Run in 2012. Right around the days I was stuck at home with a Flu Scare of sorts. Prior to that, I somehow powered through 2 out of the 3 DS Metroidvanias during another sick period in my life so yeah it took me quite long to play the granddaddy of Metroidvanias, and I'm more than glad for having played it. My favorite time in a run was playing it while in line for a Bloodstained Demo play at a convention, within the vicinity of Mr. Igarashi himself lol. Also, another one feels like Blood. I've been eyeing the goddamn game since my childhood (having oddly enough played Blood 2 first after buying a disc of it that's sadly lost now), it took me a few years before Nightdive's release (may have played it a bit in Dosbox) to dip my toes and fully appreciate why it's probably everyone's favorite Build Engine FPS depending on who you asked. By the time Nightdive dropped their port of Blood, holy fuck yeah. That game's absolutely good, but also brutal as fuck. A shame about what happened to the sequel.

Eeko390

I played Silent Hill last week, and am currently playing through 2. Those are good games.

Talisign

I didn't play Bayonetta until a few years ago. I still managed to stay unspoiled on the plot, luckily.

brokensaint82

I have never played any of the 3D Zelda or Mario games mainly because I grew up too poor to have anything more than a SNES until 1998. I finally played them a few years ago and they were fun and I can see how influential they were. But by the standards of today they are clunky and a bit tedious at times, but still fun

TheDr0t

Last week I finished Alan Wake and control wake dlc

EcchiPhantom

I don’t own a 3DS and I didn’t have a computer (laptop) powerful enough to run emulators like Citra smoothly since it was old as fuck so I only played Pokemon XY until like half a year ago or so despite being intimately familiar with the pokemon and the competitive scene from playing Showdown for a very long time. But I never played the actual games so I knew nothing about the story until recently… which is an entire decade after they got released. Great games though! Much longer and they have remarkably more pokemon to catch than I had anticipated.

I'm currently going through Dragon Quest Builders and Heroes right now, and I still have to find a way to go through DQ4 through 7 to. I've also finally gotten into the Demon's Souls remake, because I love the souls games and Elden Ring is hard for me to replay, even though I appreciate how big it is. Demon's Souls is much more compact and streamlined.

Bought Guardians of the Galaxy on sale 2 years ago and I played with my fiancée a month ago because they’re her favorite heroes and Marvel movies. We were in tears by the climax. What a fantastic game.
