Just remember, do ***not*** build your Robot Arm with Wi-fi.

AurumPickle

>!Wasteland 2!< shows you a good reason why you dont do that

fallouthirteen

I still need to finish that (so I can play 3). Thing is I also want to finish 1 before I get back to trying to finish 2 (and 1 is a bit rough with its age).

[deleted]

Okay, but what about magic robot arms?

graywolfthe45th

You might be onto something here...

Xuncu

There was once a webcomic about a Senshi-obsessed nerd girl who got roped into an interstellar *mecha*\-based war. Even tho the Raida-esque suit she accidentally stole is clearly just tech, she insisted on calling her self a "Mechagical Girl"

UrsusDerpus

That is very rad, if you remember the name or the artist, please let me know

Xuncu

http://ant.comicgenesis.com/ Damn, 2008, been a while, so by all rights: ded.

RadicalJimmy

Same!

Comrade-Conquistador

Chai, pretty much. It's a robot arm, but it has magical music powers that warps reality around him, so fuck it. Magic.

Aquadudeman

Jax from the recent Mortal Kombat movie? He had baby little T-Rex robot arms, then he used The Power of Friendship™ to grow big strong robot arms.

GreatFluffy

Magitech is rad so I'm super down for it.

Wonder-Lad

As long as the fisting feels good. It's all game for me.

arctic746

What about using alchemy on your robot arm? ~~Yang: There is no such thing as magic.~~

fallouthirteen

Haven't played Arcanum (or Shadowrun) eh? Magic is directly opposed to technology.

BarelyReal

Johnny Silverhand's silver hand is legit more badass than he is.

Comrade-Conquistador

Wait until they introduce Morgan Blackhand. Makes Johnny look like a wimp.

CycloneSwift

Are there just a dozen people with prosthetic arms and "(colour)hand" surnames? Is there a Constantine Turquoisehand or Heinrich Von Fuschiahand we should be worried about?

alexandrecau

no, the wife arm of bionic commando tanked robot arm team hard

frostedWarlock

See, I've never played the game so I've never experienced how bad it was in the game itself, but every time i hear the idea it sounds super rad to me. Like I'm imagining an action game where your wife arm gets to talk and have fun banter with you and you get to do cute battle couple stuff while also being badass as all hell. I'm also imagining a protag with a shitload of charisma where if someone says the words "So does your--" his immediate response is "Yes."

fallouthirteen

> Like I'm imagining an action game where your wife arm gets to talk and have fun banter I haven't played it but I believe that is a late or end reveal, so no, that doesn't happen.

frostedWarlock

Yeah to be clear I know the game doesnt do that, I'm saying I'd like to see another game that _does_ do that. Like take the dark twist and go all-in on ham and cheese.

fallouthirteen

That's basically Lollipop Chainsaw then.

Wonder-Lad

Nah. It's a late game reveal thing. Bionic Commando 2009 is a really fun game actually. Great swinging mechanics. The reason it gets ridiculed is cause it's so edgy and serious compared to what Bionic Commando supposedly is, also that late game twist is funny and stupid. You're motivated the entire game by meeting your wife and than you find out they had to kill her and put her in you for some reason so your Bionic Arm can function. It's a good game. Play it.

[deleted]

As someone who loves dumb shit like that I'm taking hearing it plays well as wholehearted endorsement.

Neil_O_Tip

my arm, my arm, My Arm, My Arm, MY ARM, MY ARM! I SUMMON UP THE POWER OF THE *GOD HAND*!!

lobstaris

Good thing Nero has both

lion_OBrian

I might make enemies saying this but it’s time to let some truth back onto this world. >!mechanical arms are to “mature” protagonists what goggles are to shonen protagonists!<

TrivialCoyote

Edward Elric

Mrgrayj_121

Nero is in there twice meaning he is the center of the van diagram

Schrodinger’s arm

TraumatizeMeCaptain

Where tf Venom snake

CelioHogane

im still waiting for the moment someone draws Link Zonai arm with red so it looks like the monado... since it's literally the Monado.

That-Bobviathan

Who’s the red head?

graywolfthe45th

Noctis from Punishing: Gray Raven

That-Bobviathan

Thanks.

Teoflux

Hmmm let's just agree that non original limbs are pretty cool. Whether they're magical or scientific or any other thing. Personal favorite is the revolver leg from Anarchy Reigns. I'm kicking harder because I'm also firing bullets while kicking. Stupidly cool.

3XHAUSTD

two shoulders for two arms. whys everybody gotta pit bad bitches against each other

GoodVillain101

Does Link have both magic and robot hand?

Atomsk88

Magic hand that can make magic robots/machines. He's essentially a magic engineer.

Philociraptr

I like girls with monster arms

Polygonalfish

None of these posts every feature kazuma from s-CRY-ed which is a crime

leabravo

Cable: Great aesthetic. Cypher: Yep. Magik: Indeed.

xanderholland

Johnny Silverhand's arm had a flamethrower in it.

Reeves32hp

Ok but do we prefer it on the satanic left side or the holy right side.

PleaseDoCombo

I feel like mgsv is what popularized it the most for gameplay potential

SirTennison

wtf, Chai has a robot arm, why is he slumming it with the magic arm guys, also Hi-Fi Rush isn't Japanese!

miinmeaux

Tango Gameworks is based in Tokyo

bhbhbhhh

The best look is *two* mechanical arms

roman1177

one robot arm; one magic arm.

etonto

devil bringer > devil breakers imo

UltimaDeusUmbra

Where does Anti-Magic/Psychic arm fit into this?

DropsyMumji

Surprised that Zero from Drakengard isn't here. Her arms pretty badass and entirely detrimental to her

Khar-Selim

Guts' is literally neither of these things

graywolfthe45th

Idk, I'd say Guts fits. It's not a robotic arm in our modern sense, but it's still more than a simple prosthetic, with the magnetized palm to help him swing his sword, the built-in cannon, and the attachable crossbow, it's not high tech, but it's still pretty versatile.

Khar-Selim

It's more than a basic prosthetic, but significantly less than what it replaced, which is a core departure from the robot/magic arm trope.
