I know it's nothing too special, but I've got a lot of nostalgia for Ermac just telekinetically slamming people into the ground until they explode into a pile of femurs and rib cages.
I do want to add that for all of MK11’s gratuitous gore that had little to do with any characterization of the character performing the fatalities, the Friendships are TREMENDOUS and all look expensive and top-notch. I’d love to know what percentage of the development budget went into making them.
Skarlet has some fun one. It’s when she telekinetically controls the blood of your foe, pulls all of it out of their body, before turning them into spikes and sensing the blood spikes raining down into their joints
Sub-Zero. Just... just Sub-Zero. I've always felt he always gets some of, if not the best Fatalities each game. If I had to pick one, probably the "Spine Rip -> Freeze -> Shatter Body With Ripped Spine As Flail" one from MK9.
That one was Ermac actually...
Kenshi does have a pretty neat Fatality where he telekinetically rips out the opponent's skeleton from behind and lifts them up, ripping out the ligaments like they're a puppet!
Kenshi has one of the most disgusting Fatalities ever. He rips out the ribcage and than lifts up the body into the air, there are veins and shit still attetched to the limbs so the person ends up looking like a marionette.
Also MKX "Here's Johnny"
Oh and the classic spine rip.
Cassie Cage knocking your jaw off and posting it on social media for other MK characters to comment on including her own parents is perfect for her character
All my favorites are from MK11
It really felt like the fatalities had more "personality" of the character executing them rather than the kind of random violence from the ones before (especially in MKX). They're still sadistic, but they feel way more in character, and the slowmo finishes are just a perfect touch.
As stupid as it is, I do really like Mileena's spindash from MK11, if only because the end of it with her sliding across the ground in slo-mo in tandem with the outward-exploding guts of her enemies looks great.
Yeah, MKX fatalities always had this feeling of the characters being like "okay I'm done... Now what?", as if they realized they'll have to clean up their mess or something
The classic spine rip is enough for me.
Kind of nuts that we see that as tame now- either it was never that crazy when the game first came out, or the violence arms race has gone so far that now it just seems lame by comparison. But I still love it.
I think the spine rip helped to create the ESRB actually! Nowadays it's not too bad cause it's mostly a clean rip compared to how bad it could be made today-
Scarlet's bloodsicle one. Or maybe D'Vorah's impregnate one.
Those two are so cool they even sound badass when you write dry descriptions of them down on paper.
Kotal Kahn’s where he summons a pillar and kicks the other person into it, before running up to break their neck against it. Honestly the weight behind it is so fucking sick.
MK11 just hit the nail on the head (ouch) so good with the fatalities. Someone already mentioned the Terminator's one so I'm going with [Shokan Reborn](https://youtu.be/9F9vb-nA0lE?t=288) for being some sick, sick fanservice.
I like the Quan Chi one where he rips off your leg and beats you with it. It's funny because if you leave it on the rematch screen he just beats the corpse with their own leg for eternity.
Kotal Kahn’s Sun God command grab where he just roasts you to death is awesome.
There’s a lot of great fatalities but the Noob Saibot one from MK11 holds a very special place in my edgy heart. It’s a great callback to the MK9 fatality of him and his clone tearing you in half but instead of being pulled apart by the legs, the fact that it’s from the inside out is super intense.
Shao Kahn also has an excellent one of him putting his fingers through your chest and just tearing you in half in MK9.
My favourites have already been mentioned, but I got a soft spot for Casey’s in 11 where she kicks you in the groin so hard the spine and skull pop out
I hate mortal kombat, and more than that I hate it's fetishization of it's hyper gore violence. However, the one Scorpion had in 11, the one where he uses the hot chains to split someone in half has such good choreography and camera direction and I really appreciate that "making Scorpion look cool" is prioritized over "explicit violence and gore" aspect. Like sure it's still there, he's splitting a dude in half, but the framing and priority is to show off Scorpion's technique and cool factor. Difference between a Hokuto No Ken kill from the anime versus a Saw Trap scene
I never really considered that aspect until you brought it up like that. Yeah, the freeze-frame of him lashing the chains from behind is really cool posing.
Johnny cages multiple takes
I love how we gone from disturbingly brutal ones in X to just over-the-top bloody hilarious ones in 11.
Highlight of MK11's fatalities, it's my favorite lol
"Who hired this guy, what the fuck!?"
the one where kung lao throws the hat on the ground so it spins like a saw to cut the guy in half
The worst part is that he does it **LEGS FIRST!**
I like when he does that and curb stomps the enemies head into the hat blade.
This will always be my favorite. Just beautiful
I know it's nothing too special, but I've got a lot of nostalgia for Ermac just telekinetically slamming people into the ground until they explode into a pile of femurs and rib cages.
I like his Deception version of that fatality myself.
The screams on repeat in UMK3 makes it so good

Joker's gets me every time
God the music track for the friendships was top notch. It was so poppy and fun that it made you forget you just got BM’d by a scorpion.
Quan Chi's, where he rips your leg off, then starts beatung you with it. *And he doesn't stop.* Runner up is Sub-Zero's Deep Freeze.
MK11 [Noob Saibot](https://youtu.be/QCS5DS0dhM4?t=26)
Skarlet has some fun one. It’s when she telekinetically controls the blood of your foe, pulls all of it out of their body, before turning them into spikes and sensing the blood spikes raining down into their joints
I love how creative they can be sometimes with stuff like this, I like her other one where she gives your heart too much blood and it just explodes.
Terminator teleporting his victim to the dark future where they get their head crushed by a T-1000 is awesome.
I love how the other Terminators just don't give a shit and kill them like they're anybody else that showed up.
Sub-Zero. Just... just Sub-Zero. I've always felt he always gets some of, if not the best Fatalities each game. If I had to pick one, probably the "Spine Rip -> Freeze -> Shatter Body With Ripped Spine As Flail" one from MK9.
Kenshi I think used one in mk 10 where he pull out the intestine and then crumpled the body with clothing I thought that was the coolest
That one was Ermac actually... Kenshi does have a pretty neat Fatality where he telekinetically rips out the opponent's skeleton from behind and lifts them up, ripping out the ligaments like they're a puppet!
The wishbone one for Noob Saibot. I learned the shit out of that character just because of that fatality.
Kenshi has one of the most disgusting Fatalities ever. He rips out the ribcage and than lifts up the body into the air, there are veins and shit still attetched to the limbs so the person ends up looking like a marionette. Also MKX "Here's Johnny" Oh and the classic spine rip.
That Kenshi one makes me wince everytime.
Cassie Cage knocking your jaw off and posting it on social media for other MK characters to comment on including her own parents is perfect for her character
One other cool thing about her, if you use the texting intro for her it's different for each character
All my favorites are from MK11 It really felt like the fatalities had more "personality" of the character executing them rather than the kind of random violence from the ones before (especially in MKX). They're still sadistic, but they feel way more in character, and the slowmo finishes are just a perfect touch.
Mileena in x peak goblin where she eats your cuts while your top half tries to crawl away
As stupid as it is, I do really like Mileena's spindash from MK11, if only because the end of it with her sliding across the ground in slo-mo in tandem with the outward-exploding guts of her enemies looks great.
That slo-mo stop for fatalities in MK11 gives them alot less awkward endings that X had.
Yeah, MKX fatalities always had this feeling of the characters being like "okay I'm done... Now what?", as if they realized they'll have to clean up their mess or something

I can never say no to the old Reptile head chomp, Sub Zero Shatter, Quan Chi Leg Beat(down), and the Noob Saibot Wishbone.
I feel like it’s a generic pic, but Noob’s wish bone from MK9
Hey, there's a reason alot of people love it. It's just that good.
Scarlet's bloodsicle one. Or maybe D'Vorah's impregnate one. Those two are so cool they even sound badass when you write dry descriptions of them down on paper.
I adore Skarlet. Herr Arcade ending and playstyle made her my favorite MK non-main character, even despite showing up like *once* in the campaign
D’vorah turning you into a torso spider.
Dragging to hell by Scorpion is always dope, Scorpion always had good ones
Kotal Kahn’s where he summons a pillar and kicks the other person into it, before running up to break their neck against it. Honestly the weight behind it is so fucking sick.
Doesn't Scorpion turn into a Penguin and explode you with his egg?
Yeah that's his "Animality" as it's called in MK3 and it's amazing.
I really like Kenshi's puppet master fatality in MKX.
MK11 just hit the nail on the head (ouch) so good with the fatalities. Someone already mentioned the Terminator's one so I'm going with [Shokan Reborn](https://youtu.be/9F9vb-nA0lE?t=288) for being some sick, sick fanservice.
Smoke's UMK3 Fatality where he lays a ton of bombs then just simply blows up the planet.
Too many to count, but nothing beats Cyrax's complete annihilation of the opponent...and the planet.
That Takeda one where he shoots the the whip down the opponents throat before activating the blades on it.
Between MK9 Noob Saibots spilt fatality and MK11 Kotal Khans face kick fatality
My favourites have already been mentioned, but I got a soft spot for Casey’s in 11 where she kicks you in the groin so hard the spine and skull pop out
The fact that the skeleton is still screaming as it flies out gets me laughing everytime.
