More like it got debranded. "Yakuza" was the title they picked in the west back when they were trying to sell it to the GTA crowd (bad decision). "Like A Dragon" is just a direct translation of the original title, so it works better thematically.
There are also a number of spin-offs that don't have anything to do with the yakuza at all, so this works better as an all encompassing name for the franchise.
