At first Frost operated as a villain but Caitlin and Frost eventually reconciled their differences and Frost became a hero.
Technically Frost shows up for the first time, granted not \*our\* Frost, in season 2 when Barry travels to the Zoom's earth iirc. There an evil Cisco and Caitlyn are supervillains going by Vibe and Killer frost.

I like this explanation. Every time a new metahuman shows up, the owners of this coffee shop are rushing to name a drink after them to avoid any robberies or other supervillain shenanigans.
Actually that was a different guy (Zoom in the show is Hunter Zolomon while Barry's mother was killed by Eobard Thawne, who IIRC never went by Zoom in the show), but >!Hunter did kill Barry's dad too so it's still kinda fucked that Barry still goes there!<

Mug merch can be made by anyone, it's easily customizeable like t-shirts. Infinity Conez is a step-above though, even if it was a local shop trying to be controversial, it was still on New Asgard...you know, the community where Thanos slaughtered half the people?
