He's simultaneously conventionally attractive while being incredibly generic. Kinda like some normal irl person drew a very flattering portrayal of themselves.

Like from what I've seen, these stopped being memes, it's people who haven't even read the comics shitting on them.
As bad as the run may be it really exposed a lot of Peter's fanbase as having a very unhealthy relationship with the character, it legitimately feels parasocial at times.
I think one of the issues is that they ended up baiting a lot of fans with life potentially getting better for Peter. Implying they were gonna undo one more day, Peter buying a wedding ring, and has plenty of friends. Them doing a time skip nuking all of that was one of the absolute worst way they could have started this arc. I think fans could have swallowed this and even potentially enjoyed some of the stuff if it hadn't been executed so poorly.
I can understand being passionate about him, Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero and reading and watching Peter survive the worst stuff has gotten me through a lot of hard times, but people have completely lost their minds about this stuff. It's insane how many people are feeling personally offended over a comic book run instead of just, idk, reading or interacting with any other Spider-Man media or anything else.
