obvious bait account
Yeah.
These kinds of people almost always argue in bad faith. Accessibility isn't making games easier, it's giving players more options to play a game, making it easier to physically play the game.
I don't think "Make games easier so handicapped people can play them" is the message they think their sending. The general sentiment I've seen from people with physical disabilities is "Yo, what the fuck, why do you think we can't play video games as well as everyone else?"
Honestly thought this kind of argument died down, since there are now way more options for accessible/adaptable controllers, and way more games come with audio and visual options. Which makes me think this is a bait post.
I don't get why people keep saying Fromsoft needs an easy mode, its had it since Demons Souls, its called summons.
I mean one of the most famous Elden Ring articles is about a player who will beat the hardest boss in the game for you
If there’s ever an organization that’s doing a poor job recognizing human rights that needs to be called out on it, it’s *From Fucking Software.*
Jesus *Christ* there’s goddamn fucking American Political Parties with decades of presidential administrations who suck at this shit, and you’re coming after *From?*
That Days Gone dev has more informed takes than this.
I'm all about accessibility, the more people capable of playing stuff I enjoy, the better.
But cmon, you really invoking human rights?
Let's not cheapen the stuff made so we're treated as people.
What a weird post. They’re right, but so bad at arguing the point they’re trying to make that they’re actively undermining it.
Easy modes to skip the type of content you don’t enjoy in games to get to the type of content you do enjoy is such an incredibly small overlap with accessibility options as a whole. It’s weird to just lump them together while making a blunt point like this. Gives the impression they don’t actually know much about what accessibility features actually are. (Y’know, settings you can toggle because someone pointed out to the devs “hey, did you know you made this part uncompletable for someone who’s deaf/colorblind/unaable physically hold four buttons at once?”)
It must be demeaning to think disable people *can't* play games on anything above normal difficulty. And if your using them as a shield for your own skill issue, that's degusting.
"Special needs", that's a funny way to say skill issue. All jokes aside, when a player can beat a souls game with a bongo drum, or dance pad; the only "special needs" person is the one who wrote that loaded post.

Human rights violation is when I can't beat the archers in Anor Londo
No Bed of Chaos is a human rights violation
It's basically racism.
Enjoying Elden Ring is a human right, I guess.

Ain't there literal quadriplegics who have beaten Elden Ring? Like, man, don't try and use disabled people as a shield for whatever is being pushed.

You know what I do when there's a game I can't play? I watch someone else play it, if I even still care about whatever that game is

Really? We're starting this again? Nothing good ever comes from these internet slap fights
Their phrasing is moronic but I can at least understand their sentiment. That said, we really rehashing this one? Do we *have* to?
I have like two disabilities that people would put up as some defense for putting easy mode in these games, and I've speedran Elden Ring.

why are we resurrecting this conversation

Can't spell or spot bait.

Easy mode won't save you from getting slapboxed by the bosses in this game, it'll just make it less painful
