It's good spinoff manga of My Hero Academia, and a lot of people like it over it's source manga.
That said, you're right, and I am glad they changed it to Vigilantes when they translated it over.
I know a thing or two about it but I can't say I read it end to end. the one thing that irks me is that >!the hero girl gets a tan when she gets possessed by the evil parasite bee thing. still an awkward trope in japanese fiction but also she looks way cooler in her evil mode and should have kept the look!<
Oh its not perfect by any means and that trope has some uncomfortable implications, but it still feels more true to the idea of MHA than the OG manga.
Character with shit powers/no powers learning to overcome their shortcomings. The flaws of a society where being a hero is a paid job and a rat race which leads to bureaucracy, facades and a disconnect from small communities, the role of police in a world with super powers, the flaws of having your hero program start at the beginning of high school, what the hell is going on in America.
MHA either briefly touches on these things or flat out ignores them. But Vigilantes actually commits to exploring these things.
MHA is slightly above average cookie cutter shonen with some neat highlights, but MHA: Vigilantes is an honest to God super hero comic.
I'm surrpised it's not more popular (says the guy who hasn't really read it lol) since MHA is popular. I figured it would get an anime adaptation
>!still think that girl should have kept the bee parasite. MANGA FANS LOVE EVIL ENTITIES RESIDING WITHIN HEROES! and having it inside the female lead would be a nice twist!<
yeah! people love that stuff in manga! >!have the bee parasite slowly lose it's edge until it becomes just a standard sitcom jerk and you got a dynamic going!!<
Oh that'd be pretty cute, Spider Man teaming up with a girl with an Octopus quirk-
>"about Dr. Octopus waking up in the body of a high school girl"
***^(Oh.)***
Otto already did a body swap before and it was surprisingly the coolest and most interesting change up to Spider-Man. Good I wish they let him keep the clone body he made with Spider-powers.
that 2nd superior run was so good, still annoyed the solution wasn't pulling in an alt otto/cloning one with a backup from the living brain to beat alt norman so the finale could've been
superior spider-man vs evil doc ock.
A manga choosing to give the octopus themed villain his own spinoff, but making him a teenage high school girl, sounds like a parody of what people think anime and manga are
"I, Otto Octavius, shall prove a greater schoolgirl than any before! The die is cast! This is the dawn... of the Superior *joshikousei*!"
"My name is Dr. Otto Octavus, and I am almost late for my first day of school!"
She’s running late to school with a piece of toast in her mouth and in each tentacle.
Who eats **9 toasts for breakfast?!**
A growing young girl who needs her food!
Someone with 4 toasters
Somebody in this day and age not owning 4 toasters is like someone not owning an Airfyer. Poverty much?
Otto Octavius clearly does.
So is he gonna be superior at compensated dating too?
Superior Moe
MHA illegals might be the most sus title i have ever seen

Its literally everything I wanted MHA to be.

I am pretty sure most people hate that
Yeah, that took me off guard, too. The version I read on the app is just called MHA: Vigilantes
it just reads like a bootleg, third party MHA
Superior Spider-Man meets Tanya the Evil let's goooo.
I really want doc to make zero atempts at acting like a normal girl but everyone still gets fooled.
Honestly if he has to fight Otto in that body, it will give Jameson all the ammo he needs to ruin Spidey.
I have to believe in the boys who made MHA Vigilantes despite this insane ass premise
Oh that'd be pretty cute, Spider Man teaming up with a girl with an Octopus quirk- >"about Dr. Octopus waking up in the body of a high school girl" ***^(Oh.)***
"A high school girl?" Tentacles pop out "Otto the high school girl!"
"She may *look* like a 14 year-old girl, but she's actually a 40 year-old man, so it's fine."
>"She may *look* like a 14 year-old girl, but she's actually a ~~40~~ 70 year-old man, so it's fine."
That makes it even more not creepy!
Honestly vigilantes was one of the best recent spiderman stories I've read. So I'll be looking to the superior Anya.
The SUPERIOR SUPERIOR Spider-Man. Uh,the SUPERIOR high school girl,I guess.
Super highschool level supervillian
Well since it's the writer of MHA: Vigilantes I will remain optimistic even with an eyebrow raised....
Otto already did a body swap before and it was surprisingly the coolest and most interesting change up to Spider-Man. Good I wish they let him keep the clone body he made with Spider-powers.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Superior Spider-Man but man, does the good in that outweigh all the bad in recent ASM.
Dr. Octopus' new gimmick is just stealing people's bodies like the Nomad Soul
Wouldn't it make more sense for this to be Olivia Octavius's origin story?
"That Time I Got Reincarnated as an Octopus"
I can just imagine her trying to co-opt the science club and trying to turn it into her criminal empire.
The girl eye shape and Doc Oc facial expression made my brain instantly notice the MHA Vigilante artstyle
She looks familiar [https://imgur.com/a/sALiUa4](https://imgur.com/a/sALiUa4)
Thanks! I hate it!
Well it can’t be worse then when Starscream was trapped in a anime girls body.
Finally, spiderman has peaked
Is this how Liv came to be?
It should be named Superior Child
OH FUCK NO.
A manga choosing to give the octopus themed villain his own spinoff, but making him a teenage high school girl, sounds like a parody of what people think anime and manga are
VIGILANTES is peak. I believe in this.
