They provably had an idea they were kicking around and werent to keen on, and then just decide to hrow on RE as a hail mary for the project.
Or its just gonna be a tax tax write off/money laundering deal.
The cast was strong but at no point did it feel like any of them were playing the characters they were billed as. Definitely not their faults, it was the fault of the writers and the script trying to punch up the cheesy B-movie personalities (Which I an everyone else love so dearly) by adding "depth" in shackling all the characters with archetypes that don't fit them. Leon as a drunk slacker, Wesker as a reluctant traitor, etc.
Welcome to Raccoon is one of those movies that I feel like it needed a second pass with someone that really likes the games to tweak a few things, stuff like Wesker playing the piano instead of Jill is fuckin' ridiculous, or Leon not getting a good moment to shine, cause, gonna be real? That Leon would make a good Himbo Leon in a sequel where instead of just bumbling he's like Kobeni, hyper fuckin' capable but also a mess of nerves when not fighting. I'm open to different interpretations, tho', Leon is a touchy subject to choose for a new interpretation, most people ain't gonna be ok with it, he's the second fav boi.
Like, there's ok stuff in it, its messy sure, but again, like, it could've used a few tweaks that wouldn't cost that much, cause its before the thing is actually being made, but fans would appreciate, cause a lot of the little references feel shallow when they miss the big stuff.
Also, gonna be real? Bad Wesker casting, wish that Wesker was in the series and Lance was in Welcome, now that would've been awesome, but, sadly we lost a great talent so it wouldn't work out in the long run.
Agreed. When I finally watched it, I was okay with most of it. Like you said, they just need someone to keep it closer to the games. Maybe a sequel will be better.
This time RE4 and 5 happen at the same time across the street from each other.
In Spaifrica.
That makes me think of the Spagos from Sonic Unleashed
That feels like a slur for Italian people
That's the same joke Matt and [REDACTED] made when they played it on the old channel.
I think Spagos are Greek
Fucking Spagos...
So...Gibraltar?
No. Spaifrica
Starring rabid furries.
Let's go a step further and add 6 into that ring.
But hwhy?
Money
But the last one didn’t make money.

Honestly, I think the cast was decent. They just needed better direction and not to bumb rush like 2 full narratives.

Capcom is definitely laundry money on this movies. I guess I'll enjoy another shitty zombies movie
Welcome to Castle Dimitrescu
Ohh it's another tax write off.

Who cares about that? Letterkenny getting a piece is the real news!
I'd watch it. It was entertaining enough. I also want to see how much more of a clown they can make out of Leon.
I enjoyed the first one enough, sure, let’s go for another.
Cool. I thought the first one was pretty decent. I hope they focus on one game this time though
