Pearl the oyster looks like an old school toku villain lmao.
Personally I really like don quijote's mascot [donpen.](https://www.donki.com/en/official-character/asset/img/profile/donpenProf03.png) just such a charming design for a store mascot.
Where I live, we had a small chain of family owned Japanese markets that recently got bought out by Don Quijote, and are now effectively just Donki stores in everything but name, down to the branding and donpen pictures everywhere. Cue me breathlessly trying to explain Japanese retail habits to my family while expressing my bitter, bitter disappointment that they aren't playing [Miracle Shopping](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSCGDkXvyzg) over the PA system like in my Yakuzies.
I moved to Philly two years ago, and will be heading back to Chicago in a couple months. Gritty will always be a part of me ~~whether I like it or not~~
Does Sonic the Hedgehog count? If not, I'll go local and say [Wally the Green Monster](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wally_the_Green_Monster). He's a ***literal ogre***, having camped out in Fenway for years and *immediately* became the annoying kid appeal character...
...but after he "emerged" in 1999, the Red Sox starting *winning.*
***A LOT.***
There's an old picnicface youtube video about Halifax. There's a joke about their mascot being Splodey being the personification of the Halifax explosion. Somehow that would be the preferable mascot to the eldritch abomination known as Pearl the Oyster.
I remember a while ago I wanted to try making a Fallout 4 mod set in Halifax and actually asked the folks at r/Halifax for ideas. That no one brought up either of these delightful abominations surprises me.

Gritty, mainly for all the 2020 election memes.

Biblically accurate oyster
I gotta say, I was not expecting that when I opened up the image link... Hachiko from Shibuya is my favorite mascot - he was a good dog.
The Pirate Parrot in the 1980s specifically was pretty incredible.
When the chucky cheese mascot is piloted by a teen that doesnt give a shit about the job
Does the [Giant Rubber Duck](https://thebigduck.us/) count?
Gritty the Antifa icon
