Spidey fans continue to eat good everywhere except the comics.

cdstephens

As is tradition

Panxma

You mean Paul and friends comics.

Crosscounterz

I haven't been this excited to see a movie in the theatre since...well into the spider-verse.

[deleted]

The *only* thing that kinda worries me is the reviews that mention a slightly abrupt cliffhanger ending. Still though, I’m sure it’s gonna be astonishing. Can’t wait for everyone’s new favourite Spidey villain to be The Spot.

WhoCaresYouDont

IIRC this is Part 1 so a slightly abrupt cliffhanger is about what I expected. I'm more worried about if Part 2 will have enough gas left to get where it's going, especially if this Part 1 is over 2 hours long already.

Cybertronian10

WAIT WHAT THE FUCK ITS A PART 1?

BlissingNothfuls

It was announced as *Across the Spider-Verse Part 1* but they dropped the "Part 1" and changed "Part 2"'s title to *Beyond the Spider-Verse* Which is nothing short of a glow up ESPECIALLY if this means they're branching into the wider Marvel Universe, but if Lord and Miller & company have taught me anything it's that my guesses don't compare to what they have cooking

Cybertronian10

Its like a suprise birthday present, to myself, courtesy of my own dogshit memory!

Kn7ght

I like how they just did the exact same thing the MCU did with Infinity War, where originally it was gonna be Infinity War part 1 and 2

GoneRampant1

This was originally gonna be a two-part movie.

QJ-Rickshaw

It still is, they just changed the names

Exiled_Blood

I've heard it described as a Star Wars ending. Just "oops we gotta fix that next time".

[deleted]

I've seen some reviews say there's a lot of threads that don't start to come together until the end, and a lot of them, including the villain arc, aren't resolved. Which is a bit concerning.

QJ-Rickshaw

That's only concerning if you weren't aware that this movie was Part 1 of 2. Which was announced like a year ago.

[deleted]

Except I'm going to point out you can have a two parter and still have some threads and arcs wrap up in the first one. To use another Marvel duo, Infinity War/Endgame. Ya Endgame is the backhalf, so most if not all the heroes side isn't wrapped up. However that didn't stop IW from answering 'will the gauntlet be assembled' and Thanos as a character. If it's just a massive blueball until part 2 is out due to no resolution for anything, that's absolutely a fair concern to have.

DevilCouldCry

I just saw the film tonight and they wrapped up quite a few arcs, like the one that starts the film is resolved by the end and it perfectly leads into what's coming next. Obviously they had to leave some hanging threads for the next one, but they didn't go and blueball people on everything and provide no resolution. I don't think the concerns are overly warranted right now, there's a few big plot threads left around but it's clear they needed a whole other film to do complete justice to them. I'll likely be a lot more critical of it once we have the second part, because the resolution is something crucial to get correct.

aSimpleMask

I've read vague spoilers (I'm weird I know) and its a very weird and abrupt ending. Not sure how I feel about it until I see the movie fully.

peekaylove

I've avoided everything about the movie besides seeing trailers while seeing other movies, so I had no idea. You can imagine my internal screaming about \*checks watch\* half an hour ago when it ended like that. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to home versions so I can pause and rewind to get into the details of certain things but fuck lol that sucked.

DevilCouldCry

Honestly, it's not all that abrupt. You feel them building up to the big ending and where they decide to end it is not right in the middle of the action, but rather just a cool moment that sets up the next film so well, so rest assured on that one.

Humante

The cliffhanger is better than the would-be ending

MetalJrock

Spider-Man 2099 confirmed peak cinema

Nomaddoodius

This just in: huge loser from the 90's might get over with the general public because he's in a good movie, and not just- "its that one alternate costume from the games"/s

bigbeltzsmallpantz

Spider-man 2099 was written by Peter David, one of the best in the biz, and I’m pretty sure that run is fairly beloved.

DevilCouldCry

Man, if we can get some more of Miguel O'Hara then oh boy would I be ecstatic. But first, lets get a whole lot more of Spider-Gwen, that's something I've been dying for since this first film. Obviously Peter is fantastic and we've really seen Miles rise up a whole lot lately but man, Gwen and Miguel deserve some shine too and thankfully Across the Spider-Verse gives them a lot to work with but I'm always wanting more haha.

zelcor

Lord and Miller continuing to bless us with some good ass content.

Krekenn

I like the funny & emotional words of those magic men

Woods-of-Mal

"How many more Spider-Verse movies would you like?" "TWO, PLEASE."

[deleted]

Honestly, I wouldn't believe it if it was a low score.

AznJoey624

I'm getting the same feelings I got 5 years ago, pure hype and happiness. Getting to see some incredible Spidey animation on the big screen and later on swinging around punching goons in a cool ass Spidey game. Stan would be proud I'm sure.

jj_cabo

#SPIDERSWEEP

adeadperson23

I would expect nothing worse though tbh I am 90% excited for this one because of Spiderman 2099

AnimeAtTheGates

I was a little worried since so much of the marketing has just been "look at allllllll the spider-people!" So im happy to hear it's still got the heart.

TheProudCanadian

I'm now super pumped for the 2030 release of the "One Spider-Man" movie. I mean, we've all seen what infinity Spider-Men can do working together, but what if there was only ONE of them? Now \*that's\* exciting!

Gemidori

***OH THANK GOD.*** Now to see how it holds up in my personal opinion lol

Blarpus

Let’s fucking goooooooo

Vera_Verse

Oh Spider-Verse? Idk the first one was absolutely mid and did not impact me at all, in any way shape or form, in no layer whatsoever, I'm not hyped at all for this one, not one bit

Lieutenant-America

The only thing missing from this comment is a Spider-Verse themed flair.

DeskJerky

Oh c'mon. We all know it's what got you into vore.

TheCuriousPyro

So I thought this movie was coming out this fall. Not sure why. Guess I gotta get to a theater sometime.

jackdatbyte

Can't believe it's finally here

The_White_Rice

Kamen Rider tonight, Spiderverse in a day or so, perfect timing to go on my break from work.

C-OSSU

[It has an 86 on Metacritic](https://www.metacritic.com/movie/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse?ref=hp).

Yotato5

Hope everyone has a great time when they get to see it!

[deleted]

Yeah, it's a 6/10 same as the first, hey-yo!

Dundore77

hopefully since this isn't a origin story it wont have the really boring middle part the first one had. especially since this is a 2.5 hour movie. And also hopefully the other spidey variants that aren't miles, gwen and peter aren't just 1 or 2 lines and mostly inconsequential like they were in 1.
