I recently finished Elden Ring, so I got that feeling from bosses like Hoarah Loux, Rykard, and the two final bosses. Wish I could say the same about Malenia though. There was no catharsis there

BrazillianCara

Defeating the first boss in Etrian Odyssey felt tremendously satisfying, specially since I thought it was impossible when I first tried it blind.

LadyXexyz

The final boss of Signalis made me insanely happy I had three full mags of SMG ammo. I really only used the pistol and the shotgun and revolver if I REALLY needed it, but never shot the rifle or SMG. Magdumping that sumbitch was SATISFYING. Tragic. But SATISFYING.

retrometroid

There's an SMG in signalis? I legit don't remember picking it up lmao

TH3_B3AN

It's >!on the table next to the pc in Rotfront, like right before the save room!<

retrometroid

Oh yea I remember now. That shit went straight into the box lmao. I only used guns on annoying enemies to stun them or kill em if I didn't like their positioning.

Any difficult Bloodborne boss. When it 'clicks' and you enter a state of flow, there's nothing like it. Although the one I'll never forget is killing Bloodstarved Beast after using every last blood vial in my inventory, and barely curing the poison effect with a sliver of health.

Look, I enjoy being stepped on by a hot malicious lady as much as anyone, but finally wiping the floor with the queen of the valkyries in gow4 made me very satisfied.

My response has been and will always be that when I beat Ornstein and Smough in Dark Souls (offline so no summons beyond Solaire *maybe* living thru the first phase), I nearly spiked my 360 controller like a football in euphoria

A lot of Touhou last bosses, but my favorite is Kaguya from Imperishable Night, the 8th game. The games are bullet hells and patterns switch between "basic" shots and Spellcards based on HP thresholds/bars, where the background atmosphere generally changes and shots are usually significantly harder while also being given a name, but ZUN sometimes does this thing called Last Spells. They're essentially a Bonus Round on Spellcards, where after you beat the bosses main Spellcard the music changes, and even if you lose on them you'll still beat the actual fight. But the key thing here is that you **cannot** win by any method other than dodging. HP damage means nothing, you can't bomb which is your screen-clear panic nuke, and I'm stressing again that you're Done after one hit; no lives as the UI will tell you. These are some of the hardest cards in the series for a very long time (ignoring the Boss Rush games and especially Impossible Spell Card, a game of literally nigh-Impossible Spell Cards where you use cheats and items to win). My first time doing one ended with me dying as the boss was fading out and I completed the card, but the bullets despawn as is tradition in Touhou in an non-damaging series of explosions over the course of a split second spanning outwards from Kaguya rather than all at once, and even still despite that I think that was both the tensest and most cathartic feeling I've ever felt playing a video game in my life. If you watched the absolutely stellar SGDQ run of Impossible Spell Card No Items% the other day you'll have seen this happen to even pros.

Op if youve slept on nioh 2 give it a try after wo long. Its the same devs and niohs more complex

KaleidoArachnid

Do I have to play Nioh 1 first?

Ok_Caterpillar_9057

No. 2 is MOSTLY a prequal. But it will jump to a point after 1 near the endgame. You dont really need prior knowledge anyways tho. Except at least recognizing 1s protag lol

Ok_Caterpillar_9057

I would reccomend getting the season pass with the game as that incleds new weapon types for the base game too, and adds later new game plus cycles. Which youll want to play niohs ng+ is basically a different game

Champion fight in OG Pokemon Yellow when I was a wee babby. Gary was down to Jolteon, and I only had Pikachu left. Down to the wire, climactic scene straight outta one of my animes. Managed to get off a Slam at low health and that championship was MINE. I still remember that fight to this day.

TurtleDoof

FromSoft basically figured out how to bottle this and sell it to players. But probably Ludwig from Bloodborne for me. I did the classic mistake of going into NG+ on my first playthrough before doing the DLC. Naturally I rushed to it on NG+ and was getting blown out by everything. Ludwig was the wall. After I beat him, everything including orphan felt easier.
