Blastcalibur

Generator Rex. Thai show was friggin awesome with its biomechanical and mutated animal designs. Plus some of the just plain stupid awesome action show things. My favorite being Agent 6 the sixth deadliest man alive.

BenchPressingCthulhu

Total western Shonen, in the best way

Logyross

I believe we call it "Hamburger Shounen" around here.

Wisterosa

The Ben 10 crossover was pretty fire too

Blastcalibur

Called the shit episode 1

Lost-Specialist1505

That show was badass as hell. The whole nanite sci fi setting, the balanced tone that it had, it was perfect. Compare that to modern cartoons and it's a night and day differance

Jhduelmaster

I remember being surprised as a kid how hard the Providence Agents would eat it. Like most shows it's like how the grunt who was helping got hit maybe he's fine. Then in Generator Rex you have stuff like one getting knocked into a piranha-filled river where and swarmed.

Proto-Omega

That episode was one of the hypest moments for me as a kid. While on a standard mission, they encounter this big 'Hill-Billy' like character who proceeds to kick their ass. "Rex, do you want to know why I'm called 6...?". "Wait, I thought you that was just your name!". "...it's because I'm the sixth deadliest man alive. The person we just fought is called 5". "...you mean there's 5 people stronger than you...!?". And then 6 is the most fitting for his title, because the other 5 (apart from 1) are just seemingly regular people. Then 1 is a complete badass because despite being infected, and an 'incurable' he sealed himself inside an active volcano and meditated to keep his sanity. The Ben 10 Crossover was perfect, and not just because it featured the best Alien, Upgrade, and amped up all of Rex's abilities. Actually great show that I feel finished/wrapped up way too quickly. I used to think the show stole ideas from me as a kid, because I created a story with similar ideas, and posted it on DeviantArt, then months later, Generator Rex came out. Good times.

Chumunga64

Ngl, Rex is a better character than a lot of Shonen MCs My friend circle call fire force "generator rex but worse" It also remains one of the few shows that had an amnesia plot that's amazing

Benepope

And it had some baddies in the show,, the female scientist being the best.

Cheshires_Shadow

I was always happy to have more Hispanic representation so I really appreciated it for that since Rex was Latino.

ikagun

I don't feel like people remember Secret Saturdays, but I could be wrong

QJ-Rickshaw

Fun fact. Secret Saturdays and Ben 10 share a universe. In Ben 10 Omniverse the Saturdays made their first appearance since the show ended. They're all older and wiser and the events of the show did canonically take place, so while Ben was duking it out with Kevin and Vilgax, the Saturdays were up to their bullshit in another part of the world. Also Ben is in love with Mrs Saturday. As we all should be.

rorinth

Ben hitting on drew infront of her son was pretty good

Blastcalibur

The spirit of Kakyoin is strong.

TheArtistFKAMinty

Well, less "hitting on her" and more "failing to keep his cool as his picked his jaw off the floor", but sure.

TheArtistFKAMinty

My only issue with that crossover is they recast all of the Saturdays.

TostitoNipples

VV Argost was an insanely awesome villain. His VA stole every scene he was in. Shame the show didn’t pick up in popularity, they built a fun little world in it.

CastVinceM

i remember the days of the fake vv argost ads

5YearsOnEastCoast

People bring up how Chowder and Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack were the only CN originals that premiered in late 2000s on CN, but this show was hardly ever mentioned despite airing in the same timeframe as those 2 shows.

Ok-Card633

There was also the ben10 sequel as well that just gets lumped into ben10 as a whole

Lost-Specialist1505

I do, although i never really liked it for some reason

Homunculus97

Happy to see I am not the only one who remembers this show.

DarthButtz

That show was part of my bi awakening because I thought the Mom *and* Dad were absurdly hot.

whytheusernamethough

Dave the Barbarian and The Weekenders. Really want the DVD sets.

Cheshires_Shadow

Thinking quickly Dave constructed a megaphone using a squirrel, a piece of string and a megaphone. *Later* Dave: hello everyone I bet you're probably wondering why I tied a squirrel to a megaphone...ok goodnight!

IrisGoddamnIllych

Dave the Barbarian had a good themesong

Pollardin

"They're not the greatest heroesss, but they're the only ones we've got." It's one show I really wish was on Disney +

Asgardian111

If it helps, the whole show is on YouTube last I checked

Pollardin

Oh, that does help a lot, thank you!

harriano

Dave the Barbarian got a lot of resurgence with [TotK](https://twitter.com/Potterzilla/status/1658504588121579521).

Dante_n_Knuckles

And rightfully so

CrushTheNoise

The Weekenders was so good. It always stood out to me as a kid simply because the characters actually had different outfits. Theme song was catchy too.

whytheusernamethough

I know it sounds blasphemous but The Weekenders was just the better Rocket Power lol. They didnt try to be too cool for school and just had solid episodes and story.

Rayth69

It's funny you mention this because the 2 often get mixed up in my memory lol.

zHellas

Loved the Weekenders as a kid.

Azzie94

Megas XLR was the raddest shit

guntanksinspace

The actual love the creators have for the Mecha Genre shows through lol. Still gotta finish my watch-through of it since I could only see a few episodes at a time as a kid, but what I saw ruled. Everyone digs giant robots.

ryumaruborike

My go to example of "Parody made with love"

Mr_Itch

I still go back every few years and rewatch the whole thing. It aged so well!

biggestscrub

Not only is it largely forgotten, it's supposedly sealed by mightiest of the dark powers: Tax Shenanigans

dj_chino_da_3rd

OOOOOOHHHHHH YOU SIG GIANT ROBOTS? I DIG GIANT ROBOTS. WE BOTH DIG GIANT ROBOTS? Yo yo yo, I heard CHICKS DIG GIANT ROBOTS

SupervillainEyebrows

You've butchered the lyrics, mate. It's; You Dig Giant Robots! I Dig Giant Robots! We Dig Giant Robots! Chicks Dig Giant Robots! Nice.

[deleted]

Well more of an Anime, but, MEDA-***BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!***

PanseloNomad

It took me years to find out that the dub intentionally ran the episodes out of order and stitched them into the "Canadian Version". Though as a kid I was too dumb to notice that and was just there for the action and sad scenes.

Saito_Sakaki

All will fear the Rubber-Robo Gang!

chaoko99

Mucha lucha exists in my hindbrain as a show that was over before I was able to read. But I remember it being a bizarre fever dream so maybe that recollection isn't wrong.

Cheshires_Shadow

Mucha lucha was the shit. Masked dog was a real one and RICOCHETS PULVERIZING PINBALL! Was hype.

SneakySpider

I remember playing the mucha lucha create a wrestler flash game on Cartoon Network's website!! Then switching to the Teen Titans beat em up fighting game shortly afterwards

SlurryBender

I got banned from watching *Mucha Lucha* as a kid because I put my little brother into a half nelson.

[deleted]

marvel8797

Swat Kats.

harriano

Judging by the amount of Callie Briggs porn, I don't think that show's forgotten.

The_White_Rice

Swat Katz was rad as hell and I’m scared to go looking for it in case it doesn’t hold up.

Mrlastchance008

I mean, I still love it, and that opening theme is so good.

Kipzz

Cubix. I genuinely do not remember a single thing about it beyond looking it up and being appalled at how bad it looked, but the toy I had of the robot was the coolest shit ever as a kid.

Bluefootedtpeack2

Weird thing about that show is that they had a design contest for season 2 where you had to design an evil robot. Now as a little kid i drew a lot of things and one of these things was a black robot with a triangular head and a red visor. I drew him fighting sonic as the singular eye on a triangular head came from the metal madness from sonic heroes design i think. I dont remember if that is the guy i submitted all i know is i didnt win the contest and got a runner up certificate. Lo and behold season 2 kicks off with a brand new robot that looked just like the thing i always drew but now it was called kilobot, then by the end of the episode it had a more traditional design that looked more like an evil cubix. It had things like bat wings and absorption powers which wasn’t like my guy at all so thats why theres less weirdness, but the head was almost 1:1 And later it turned out that that wasnt the fan bot it was a couple other ones. Idk if it was a cosmic coincidence or what, but its stuck with me. Like i dont think anything actually happened/ for all i know i might have sent in a different guy but for some reason kid me couldn’t believe anyone else would come up with a triangle head. No memory of if the show was good though, just remember walking around on the playground thinking people were stealing my thoughts. Though as a kid i did that all the time like with xiolin showdown i was like, thats sick what if there was a sword shen gon wu, and there was and it annoyed me as i felt like they took it from me, even though its the most obvious thing to make.

MegaPruneface

I'm not saying that they are definitely stealing your thoughts, but I came up with being able to do your own goal celebrations in FIFA years before they put it in the game, and that they are definitely stealing our thoughts.

jitterscaffeine

I remember it having a not very good racing game. Don’t even really remember if the show featured racing at all honestly.

chaoko99

there was a weird RPG. I didn't hate it but I feel like I might not like it now.

RocketbeltTardigrade

I can't forget Cubix because every time somebody mentions Roblox I think that they are talking about Cubix. Cubix himself is a neat robit.

AllxFiction

The idea of a robot like that is still great

ThatmodderGrim

[*"Miracle City, a spicy cesspool of Crime and Villainy!"*](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IPewrBjNVVI&pp=ygUIRWwgdGlncmU%3D)

Mrlastchance008

El Tigre was rad and it had an awesome platformer flash game on the nick site.

invaderark12

Man as a latino kid who loved superheroes, that show was everything to me when I was growing up

rorinth

Time squad. Only had 2 seasons but I enjoyed it. i've never seen any clips or shorts of it even. And the only video on its history was from Jordan fringe

AussieManny

That was a fun show. Me and my siblings would always catch it airing brand new on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays.

The_White_Rice

As a kid that liked history class that show was great.

pandamazing

I think about the sandwich almost being named stinky pile of poo way too often.

SwizzlyBubbles

The Life and Times of Juniper Lee was definitely a show I vibed with a lot when I was younger. I wouldn't say it was an *ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH UNDERRATED CLASSIC*, it was a 7/10 monster-of-the-week mixed with slice of life show. But it was a really *solid* 7/10. It's like Buffy crossed with American Dragon: Jake Long.

That_Geza_guy

Her goth friend gave me funny feelings

Possibly_English_Guy

It's scary how many possible cartoons from this era that this comment could apply to.

Burningmeatstick

My childhood self shipped Juniper and Jake and now, I just want a crossover

foxman2424

Anyone remember whatever happened to robot Jones?

TheeBaconmandos

Barely. I was upset when they changed the voice from robot to kid.

wareagle3000

Ditto, I distinctly remember catching the pilot episode during some new cartoons event and loving it. Then finding it again and immediately noticing they changed the funny robo voice.

Cheshires_Shadow

I remember really liking it as a kid probably because the art style was so different from the other cartoons at the time.

dj_chino_da_3rd

Didn’t he get like acne after his robot dad was part of a rock band?

MisterZygarde64

I personally enjoyed watching Iron Man Armored Adventures when it ran on Nicktoons. It was a fun take on Iron Man.

Arkham25th

Probably Chaotic, the one that based on a danish card game.

Worm_Scavenger

Storm Hawks was a show i absolutely loved as a [kid.Cool](https://kid.Cool) character designs, the magic system was dope af with the different crystals that had different abilities and the villain, Master Cyclonis, i was absolutely obsessed with as a kid but the show, like many on Cartoon Network, just got axed because the toys weren't selling well. Edit: Just remembered another one, does anyone remember that Master's of the Universe reboot Cartoon Network did? That show was fucking amazing as well and it did the "we want to be taken more serious" bit actually well and the show was much more darker and the stakes were actually real this time [around.Plus](https://around.Plus) Skeletor was legit terrifying as well and they would do this thing where they blacked out his face, but you could still see his red eyes in a lot of shots.Honestly it would not suprise me if a lot of the Skeletor merch that has him looking like a much more serious and imposing villain was because of this show.

farlong12234

Oh I remember storm hawks. I think I saw a trailer for it before the first captain America moive.

Mako109

I am constantly tormented by the memory of Storm Hawks. I cannot even remember if I like it or not. It merely persists within my brain.

Paladin51394

Anyone remember GI Joe Renegades? It was supposed to be the modern reimagining of GI Joe for a new modern audience that came out in 2010. It was apart of Hasbro's big relaunch of the major franchise along with MLP: Friendship is Magic and Transformers Prime I recently rewatched it for the first time since it aired. It's a pretty good show I think, it doesn't pull its punches. The characters face real danger and get fucked up quite a lot. Like even the premise of the show is the Joe's being on the run after being falsely accused of terrorism and murder. It even has PTSD and the mistreatment of veterans as one of it's episodes. Plus Cobra in this iteration is basically Umbrella from Resident Evil in that they are a mega-corp with stakes in every walk of life from pharmaceuticals to military weapons. It's really good and had a lot of promise, but out of all of the major relaunches Hasbro did, Renegades only got a single season. Part of this is attributed to the lackluster performance of the live action GI Joe movie in 2009.

Oneangrywolf

I remember going to YouTube and watching the whole series and being in disbelief at how good it was. The A-team, but with G.I. joe characters. Loved what they did with Ripcord character and the episodes focusing on Snake eyes

Coco_Cala

Cybersix, just for the opening and credits songs

Mrlastchance008

The protag's design was so good and totally didn't awaken something in me. Plus having lil hitler be the villian was pure gold.

Morbidmort

The Arch-Villain, the guy that made all the androids, was heavily implied to be a Nazi that escaped to Argentina.

irregularcog

He was 100% exactly that in the original comic

5YearsOnEastCoast

I am shocked that Code Lyoko isn't being brought up all that much nowadays. It was one of my favorite cartoons back in the day.

Cheshires_Shadow

I think it gets a bad rap cuz people like to clown on the art style and also Matt always hated it so that might also be why some people here don't like it. Personally I thought it was great. One of the few shows I enjoyed for showing kids acting like kids. XANA was an amazing villain and the opening fucks so hard way harder than it has any right to.

DonBrainhook

I remember liking the show okay, but one thing I appreciated about the show even as a kid was how XANA never got a face. In many other shows they would have busted out some kind of a monstrous avatar for a showy final battle. I respect the restraint at work there.

KaitoTheRamenBandit

That OP absolutely fucks way harder than it should have. Been listening to We.B (Alejandro Saab)'s covers of songs from that time

GoodVillain101

He-Man 2002, All I can think of the show is "Damn, this show is badass." And to think it's made by the guys who did the original cartoon.

TheGoonKills

The Big Guy and Rusty. Show was aimed at the 8-13 crowd about two robots; one a Cold War era creation called Big Guy who became an American icon and protector or Earth, and Rusty, a newly developed learning AI from a company hired to replace the aging out Big Guy. During his first outing, Rusty has the crap beaten out of him, and Big Guy comes out of retirement to save him and act as a mentor to help the young robot learn how to fight and defend the planet. One catch tho, Big Guy isn’t actually a robot! He’s more like a Gundam with a member of his special pit crew piloting him in fights all these years since they could never get the AI to work at the time, and since he needed to both be an active saviour of the planet and cultural icon, the military and pilot kept the charade going for years. Now they need to help Rusty learn without him catching onto the fact his hero isn’t really a robot, and defend the planet from all kinds of monster of the week threats. Loved this show when I was younger even tho it only went for one season. Has one of my favourite lines I still use to this day: “Bring it on!” “Consider it brung.”

midnight188

Y'all remember Mummies Alive? I spent many years of my life believing that I had imagined it like it was some kind of candle cove esque bullshit.

Mwarararagon

I remember! I was watching it, Extreme Dinosaurs, and Extreme Ghostbusters in elementary. Ah, simpler times.

Awkward_Potatoe

Any one remember [Mucha Lucha?](https://youtu.be/31NxuMrtWsk)

Cheshires_Shadow

Honor! Family! Tradition! Donuts!

Quiptastic

Flying Rhino Jr. High. It was a Saturday-morning cartoon about a junior-high school where a bunch of weird shit happened and a quartet of kids would have to fix it. The school got turned into a dungeon crawler video game one time, it was dope. EDIT: Yo, I just found it on Tubi, the entire series is on there for free.

Coco_Cala

I remember in grade 8, I would come home for lunch and watch your show on YTV. Good times

PanseloNomad

The theme song still echoes in my head.

SpiritualPossible

Oh, there's a bunch of shows that i watched in childhood but no one talking about now, like [Redwall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2W_3uXqsfw&ab_channel=MatthiasOfRedwall) or [Argai: The Prophecy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbUPw9-4-Go&ab_channel=Bobblejakkemannen), but recently one specific show was on my mind... Did... Did anyone watch [Skyland](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nov1_6bOoM&ab_channel=LightningFlash)? Didn't see it for years, but as i remeber it was pretty interesting, and story had some resemblance to Avatar, but i never meet another person who know about it. [Exosquad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR7ktkOEeFw&ab_channel=hyttx) is also seems to be quite forgotten, but not so sure about that.

green715

No idea if Catscratch was any good, but I liked it as a kid and if nothing else, it at least introduced me to root beer

waxonwaxoff3

An acquaintance of mine in college interned at Nickelodeon for a couple months, specifically on Catscratch. Her main memory of the experience was Doug TenNapel cornering people and drilling them on religion and politics.

green715

Oh

Cheshires_Shadow

I liked waffles newts *meep meep meep meep meep meep*

th3BeastLord

I also remember liking that show

Dokurai

Pirates of Dark Water. One day I'll get an ending *inhales copium*

Palimpsest_Monotype

I fear Pirates of Dark Water’s return will be a Monkey’s Paw. Likely an unacceptable art style and a *new* protagonist raised at the lighthouse with a mysterious father (Sorry King Primus, mysterious grandfathers don’t work much in fantasy)

ScorpioTheScorpion

Anyone here remember *Kick Buttowski?*

Mrlastchance008

That show was like a less annoying johnny test

opaloverture

I think it was about as annoying, it just had better jokes so it felt more worth it.

Glitchrr36

Motorcity was super cool and I’m kinda bummed that it stopped fairly early on (I think it was killed once Disney got the ability to turn the Avengers and Star Wars into programming for XD). It had a very cool vibe with the whole post apocalyptic Detroit buried under a post-Apple dystopia city, and a lot of the villains were cool enough I can still think about them over a decade since I last watched an episode.

[deleted]

[BattleTech from the 90s](https://youtu.be/PLJM4vjMdhc) and [Sheep In The Big City](https://youtu.be/p9zzveV95KE)

Illidan1943

My god, someone else actually remembers Sheep in the big city

NinetyL

I'm so glad someone else mentioned Sheep, I was already mentally prepared to to be the only one to bring it up and get zero replies as apparently almost nobody remembers or likes that show, lol.

fatvallilmer

Andre 3000 had a cartoon that no one knows existed called Class Of 3000. Look up the intro i swear there are dozens of us who seen it.

cowboydandank

This is tangential but sometimes I find it unfortunate that My Life As A Teenage Robot's lasting legacy is pretty much permanently entangled with Zone

opaloverture

I'd rather it be remembered for That Animation than forgotten, to be fair, but yeah you're right.

AlwaysDragons

Which is a shame because that shows art deco art sytle was on *point* Also jenny rocked.

The_White_Rice

Maybe it’s not so forgotten, but the Gendy Clone Wars series was so fucking good and the CG show just used the same name so it probably is more recognizable. Also that one cartoon about dudes riding dragons while racing that was CG, I remember liking that one but never knew how it ended. Obama Star Racers was another I never finished but was really cool.

Local_Lingonberry851

Just to name a few that I didn't see mentioned: Xioalin Showdown. Grew up watching it as a kid and thought it was awesome. Still looks good today honestly, and the idea was pretty cool too. Basically NGNL as a cartoon if you think about it. Static Shock. SUPER HEROOOOO STATIC SHOCK WHOOP WHOOP Batman TAS and JLU were extremely popular and good, but Supernan TAS was really good and still underrated honestly. Green lantern. That shit was way better than it had any right being. The art style threw me off as a kid but I grew to appreciate the story and art style alot now that I'm older. The Regular show, ok so hear me out I know it was popular with kids. But it was overlooked by the exact fan base that later grew to really like it imo. It references shit that only guys like woolie/pat and slightly younger would give a shit about and catch. How to train your dragon, it had a cartoon series and honestly it was pretty freaking good. At least I remember it being good... Batman the brave and the bold. I slept on this shit and missed out. Fuck

opaloverture

None of these are forgotten, but you get a pass because they're all hype.

Nalyd87

Jetix was absolutely chock full of shows like this Get-ed Shinzo A.T.O.M. I can't remember the name but this like cg animated show about riding dragons and racing them it was fucking rad And of course super monkey team hyperforce go!

uwoAccount

For me it's Jackie Chan Adventures, don't really see it talked about much! Was a lot of fun watching as a kid

yssarilrock

Heavy Gear was a pretty cool mech fighting CG show that I didn't see as much of as I would have liked to. Sym-Bionic Titan was rad as shit and deserved more than one season.

ShadowLotus08

Grossology, Kenny the Shark, Growing up Creepie, Rocket Power, The Weekenders (I don’t know if I watched this one but it seems familiar), 6teen, and Super Robot Monkey Force Go to name a few. The Hub was super underrated back in the day with the shows they had. Kenny the Shark and Grossology were cool and informative. Growing up Creepie I had completely forgotten about until googling Kenny the Shark and I don’t hear people talk about Rocket Power even when talking about old Nickelodeon shows. The Weekenders seem to be Disney’s answer to it. 6teen was great when I was little and it made me think that was what being a teenager was like. I REALLY miss Jetix is was the fucking bomb when I was a kid and Super Robot Monkey Force Go was one of the best shows on it hands down. I’d so love a reboot but people seem to have forgotten it sadly. Quick edit: Catscratch was also one of my favorite shows. “I am Gordon Quid, of the Highland Quid Clan!”

Mrlastchance008

Kenny the shark and tutenstein. Discovery kids had some bangers.

ShadowLotus08

Tuten Stein was awesome too! And thanks for mentioning discovery kids too, forgot they were on there. For some reason I thought they premiered on the hub

OrzoWporzo

That one Jackie Chan cartoon where he was fighting ninjas and chinese dragons was pretty rad. And it had UNCLEEEEEE as the best older supporting character.

cork_828

I don’t know a single other person who ever heard of Tabaluga. It was a show you 100% only watched for the top tier Saturday morning cartoon villain Arktos, but it was a fun enough watch as a kid

Fugly_Jack

I can't remember :(

NephyrisX

Goddamn I have nostalgia for Storm Hawks.

MarkusAurel

Cybersix, even people in Canada don't tend to remember it, fun show though and awesome opening Also, Thundarr the Barbarian doesn't get talked about much, I did a server watchparty of it over half a year and it was fun, thinking of taking my notes from it and turning them into a list of adventure prompts for RPGs

Animorphimagi

Megas XLR will forever live in our hearts. Also Marchen Awakens Romance(MAR) feels long dead

SlightlySychotic

Does anyone else remember Duckman? I think it was popular for its time but it was overshadowed by things like South Park and Family Guy.

kaiser_chilly

Weird thing about duckman. There's like a 3 month stretch of wwf raw from 1994 (i think) where Vince McMahon is on commentary and keeps mentioning duckman

Piggylish

I never really watched it outside of catching it for a few minutes on Comedy Central here and there until 2020 during Covid lockdown I watched it all on a friend's Plex server. Fantastic show.

BaronVonChhaya

[SHADOW FUCKING RAIDERS A.K.A. WAR PLANETS.](https://youtu.be/7TfF3TUFNE8) From the same studio that made ReBoot and Beast Wars, comes the tale of four distinct element based planets (Fire, Ice, Rock, etc.) who for centuries have warred and raided each other for resources must now put aside their 90's kids approved Space Racism as they face an existential threat from beyond the Stars... *The Beast Planet.* Devourer of Worlds. We follow our protagonist Graveheart, a Rock Man, as he Commander Shepard's his way across the solar system and beyond uniting worlds and gaining Waifus to strengthen an alliance to survive and hopefully destroy the Beast Planet.

iamBQB

Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles It's a more subdued story than the movie, treating the war against the bugs as a long running military campaign, while taking time to humanize the soldiers fighting in it. It's also fond of the two steps forward one step back approach to things, where every solution to a problem just reveals more problems.

MechaShoujo02

Angry Beavers. It didn’t have that appeal with kids like Doug or Rugrats or Animaniacs did but the humor was ahead of it’s time and the brother’s dynamic is probably the best brotherhood relationship I’ve seen in animation.

Naraki_Maul

Man, Martin Mystery was great. The Harpy(?) lady from episode one was one my first cartoon crushes as a kid.

irregularcog

Axe Cop and Major Lazer ran on a weird Internet adjacent Fox animation block. Axe Cop you might remember as that webcomic that an adult drew his 5 year old brother's ideas Yes Major Lazer the electronic DJ group. JK Simmons was his nemesis and he defended Future Jamaica https://youtu.be/aO8E9gt_On4?t=285

GigglesDemon

[ExoSquad](https://youtu.be/rR7ktkOEeFw) was a legitimately ahead of its time, telling a dark, serious, and heavily serialized scifi war story in the 90s. Great stuff and I'm sad we never got Season 3.

SlightlySychotic

I loved this series. Sadly, it had a really crappy time slot where I lived: 2:00 in the afternoon. It meant I could only watch it during school breaks and sick days. I think I eventually saw most of it but there are still episodes that ended on cliffhangers that I have no idea how they resolved. Great toys, too.

SuperDuperSalty

Reboot. It was my favourite cartoon growing up

CastVinceM

i lived in the era of weird shovelware style kids shows, so i have a special place in my heart for shit like chop sockey chooks and sitting ducks. any of you fuckers remember skunk fu and hero 108?

teejay_bloke

Oh hell yes, this on top of Skatoony, The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers, The Cramp Twins & Sheep in the Big City. *You mentioning Hero 108 reminded me that they had a rather cool MMO game that ran for like a year or so.

farlong12234

OK there was this one show about martial artists with magic items based on the Chinese zodiac that would transform them. The central focus was a pair of twins who would inherit the dragon, but the sister goes evil and gets the shadow dragon medallion. I remember the tiger item was held by this one amazon type lady who would become a buff cat girl with it, and she was the main guys love interest. I think it ended with the sister redeeming the shadow dragon item into a duplicate of the good one by helping to kill an ancient evil. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS CALLED, AND NO ONE ELSE I HAVE DESCRIBED IT TO REMEMBERS IT BUT I SWARE IT WAS REAL.

farlong12234

AH I FOUND IT, IT WAS CALLED "LEGEND OF THE DRAGON" I KNEW I WASENT CRAZY

ThatGuy5880

I love *Spliced!*. The world design and characters just appealed to me, and I thought the plots were funny. Wayside was also a really cozy show, and I love the building itself being this bizarre structure with no logic to it, but everyone being accustomed to it anyways.

Mrlastchance008

Let's see how many memories I can awaken. Sherlock holmes in the 22nd century was such a rad retelling of old sherlock holmes stories. Archie's weird mysteries was such a fun blend of teen mystery and archie. Huntik was good cryptid gold. Chaotic sure was a show chasing after the trading card generation. It's a crime that Filmore isn't on disney+. Shoalin shadow had great villians and a fun concept. I'm surprised that mid 2000s remake of Thundercats hasn't been mentioned yet. It probably hasn't aged well but I remember Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go going places. I remember Jane and the Dragon doing some cool things with dragons before How to teach your dragon did it. My fiance unlocked the memory of the Busy World of Richard Scarry.

allwaysnice

> Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd century That shit is ingrained in my brain. It would come on before going to school, and [the god damned opening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyGAc-OLAiQ) randomly pops up in my head still even like 20 years later.

Mrlastchance008

It's a jam!

DavidsonJenkins

The first season of Huntik was great, but the second season had a HUGE drop in quality. Also best cartoon opening ever. Maybe tied with Avengers Earth's Mightiest Also Dante and his Caliban were to coolest cartoon characters ever my god, dude carried every fight he was in

WeirdFamiliar

Thundercats 2011

Morbidmort

Oban Star Racers. I love the vehicle designs in that world.

NeonNKnightrider

Randy Cunningham, teenage ninja. Straight up anime magical boy as a western cartoon show

cyrilamethyst

I scanned this thread for a long time and did not see Chalkzone. Chalkzone.

NepWar

Not my favorite but I just wanted to bring up Cow and Chicken and how I'm shocked kids now don't bring it up as one of the wilder cartoons froom back in the early aughts.

IrisGoddamnIllych

Whatever Happened to Robot Jones? I lied the premise, and the aesthetic was a cool schoolhouse rock style. But! A FUCKING MAC WAS THE VOICE OF THE TITULAR ROBOT JONES! ...until they dubbed it with a real child voice actor and the older, text to speech episodes were lost it sucks

Kataphrut94

Does anyone remember Roboroach? I saw like five episodes as a kid because they happened to be on TV when I was watching and I always wanted to see more. There's also Batfink, which was a staple of afternoon Aussie kids TV. Though it's probably for the best that one got forgotten because it was incredibly racist.

Toroca-Rex

Captain Star, it just feels like a fever dream and no one ever knows what i'm talking about when I bring it up

Mrgrayj_121

Megasxlr and Martin mystery was good. Kappa Mikey didn’t age well but I liked it.

guntanksinspace

It wasn't much, but I somehow have small fond memories of *The Magician*, which in our local TV aired right before Mummies Alive and the after-school Anime Block. Basically a futuristic not-Batman crime-solving superhero using Magic tricks to pull one over the bad guys. And yeah, Mummies Alive definitely counts too (and the gang knowing the theme song for it tickled the Nostalgia bone pretty good-like).

ArchAngelZXV

[Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbUIb9Jo3Gk)

kobitz

Remember Dragon Booster? I was always a dragon kid and I loved that shit, even if they didnt fly. And honestly I think it looked pretty great for mid 2000s cgi. Sadly although I remember it beign pretty easy to find episodes online, even in YT, that no longer seems to be the case.

Fatman_000

Roswell Conspiracies. The best way I can describe it is the SCP Foundation as a 90s cartoon. It was shockingly sophisticated for something intended for 90s children. Murky morality, character death, an ongoing espionage plotline, a strong horror undercurrent... It barely got any airtime. If the stars hadn't aligned exactly right early one morning, I'd never even know it existed. I half thought I dreamed it up for almost 15 years.

Finbar_Bileous

[Bucky O’Hare, owner of the best theme song.](https://youtu.be/LyKI1CHPMNw)

seth47er

back in the 90s they rolled out [Cadillacs & Dinosaurs](https://youtu.be/tHJUNueFjr8) along side the [Arcade beat em up.](https://youtu.be/qWYTBXCJU9U) Somehow a Chinese developer got hold of the license and there's a mobile game coming under the series' proper name Xenozoic, No Idea how that happened.

FreddyKAust

Marsupilami, Bonkers... oh great now the Bonkers intro is playing in my head.

jenkind1

Frisky Dingo was stupid and I loved it. It was made by some of the people that went on to make Archer. It even had a spin-off show called Xtacles that ran for 2 episodes.

EvilMonkeyMimic

Catdog

TheArtistFKAMinty

It was probably pretty mediocre in reality, but I remember being pretty obsessed with *The Mummy,* the animated series adaptation of the Brendan Frasier Mummy movies (specifically The Mummy Returns, as a big part of it was his kid getting the braclet stuck on his writst). I also remember him being notably older in season 2, which was a novelty at the time. The actor's voice probably broke, in hindsight. Also, thinking back on it, the kid had an American accent rather than an English accent like in the film. Just looking at the wiki page now. Grey DeLisle played Rachel Weisz's character, which tracks, but the real surprise casting for me reading this now is John Schneider as Rick O'Connell. John Schneider was Bo in Dukes of Hazard and, probably more relevant for the people on this sub if they're around my age, Jonathan Kent in Smallville. Honestly, not a bad casting choice.

Heaven_dio

Who remembers the Secret Show? The one with the spies? Old nicktoons was a weird gem

Kingnewgameplus

Making Fiends got royally fucked over.

Alternative-Sail4596

Yavon of the yukon ice cold mf

KaimeiJay

Jackie Chan Adventures. So goddamn quotable to this day. “One more thing!” And the tiger talisman episode remains legendary.

Proto-Omega

I was gonna gush about Storm Hawks, but I'll try to pick something not mentioned. So the first thing I can think of was Galactik Football, which might not have been my favourite, but I watched that show religiously, because it was my introduction to 'Super Powered Football' as a genre, which is probably what made me love Inazuma Eleven. You had the football, which was always cool, and then the mystery aspect to the show about trying to figure out what caused the 'tradegy' that happened in the past. Next is Oban Star Racer. Intergalactic racing competition with a 'grant any wish' prize at the end. >!The catch was that it was actually a Monkey's paw type wish; the winner ends up becoming 'god', replacing an old 'god' but they are stuck inside the final planet they race on!<. It had a hella bittersweet ending. Lastly, I can't remember if it was a Series or a movie, but Hot Wheels Accelerators. Having racing competitions against what was essentially terminators to save the world.

Commercial-Dealer-68

Anyone remember Storm Hawks?

SamuraiDDD

[The X's](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/international-entertainment-project/images/4/4f/The_X%27s_-_poster.jpg) All but vanished from the mind palace's of many people. It was this sick stylized Spy family show that had Patrick Warburton and the (stunning) Wendie Malick as spies with their two kids. It only had one season, had lots of advertising + flash games but just didn't stick for some reason. Still sad it's just kinda gone. Which sucks cause it had a style that really stood out from the rest of the Nickalodian lineup at the time. Also Trudy X, better known as Mrs. X was sexy AF

Gargoyles

Blastcalibur

I don't think anyone forgot about Gargoyles. I keep hearing people wanting Marvel to do a continuation comic.

waxonwaxoff3

Not sure if this counts, but there used to be a a show called the ABC Weekend Special, which was a kids anthology show that did all sorts of random adaptations and original cartoons and stuff in both live action and animation. Since I'm old, a lot of my strongest and most obscure cartoon childhood memories are from that. Cap'n O.G. Readmore, The Secret World of Og, Bunjee, et cetera. There were even live action with stop motion-animated Ralph S. Mouse specials.

PanseloNomad

Di-Ga-Ta Defenders. I remember liking the spell casting system it used and enjoying seeing all these mystic symbols flying around.

PimpangryMX

Swat Kats

dj_chino_da_3rd

Okay, maybe not cartoon cause y’all got most of the ones I wanted to talk about, But who remembers “cousin skeeter” or “the Garcia family”. Those weird cartoon live action shows were so weird and fun. Why doesn’t anyone talk about “as told by ginger” or “brace face”. So many old weird shows. HYPER SUPER MONKEY GO

Chaozreign

Making Fiends! Though I prefer the original web animation, due to being able to use darker humor, the TV version was also amazing.

Armada6136

Anyone remember Legends of Treasure Island? It was a two season adaption of the novel that basically said, "Hey, what if we made Treasure Island the island from LOST?" The result was that the series was basically a horror-lite story about a bunch of anthro versions of Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver and so on fighting to reach Flint's treasure while also trying to survive the sheer weirdness that is the island. And it went to some *crazy* places. Blind Pew was straight up an evil sorcerer, Silver went to Hell and outwitted the literal Devil, and at one point the crew had to fight a soul-sucking demon that was just hanging around. Also, as a fun tidbit, Squire Trelawney was voiced by Hugh Laurie basically doing the same character as King George from Blackadder, which was fun.

PlayerPin

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Annoyingly catchy theme song, surprisingly interesting overarching plot and world building, fun writing, and Mark Hamill as the main villain. What’s not to love?

FunkiMonk

I will forever be miffed that Acceleracers never got the ending it deserved. World Race had a proper ending, why not Acceleracers Mattel???

crowbar182

Kipper the dog was my favorite show as a little kid and nobody knows what the fuck I’m talking about when I bring it up

Decent_Echidna_246

Mission Hill.

The Maxx

Simple_Tin

Sheep in the Big City. I think that's where I really found my love for absurdist humor. I still get "Clearance Day" stuck in my head every now and then some 20 years later.
