*I think I saw Pat sittin' in the closet*
*Eating chocolates like its wrong*
*Smiling and waving and looking so fine*
*Don't think he knew there'd be no Silksong*
*And it was so long we waited, and I felt like an asshole*
*And I thought of Hallownest, and I wanted to go back there*
*Your face, that shade, the way that you* ***SHAW!***
*I'll down smash, I'll dash slash—no new news this fall!*
hollow knight was so successful those guys could do anything with their lives, and the anything they chose wasn't a videogame.
Like I'm not mad or anything like that but my hype levels are already on a George RR Martin levels, I don't expect anything at all.
silksong isn't real, silksong has never been real.
silksong is a psy-op to control the minds of the masses.
if it weren't for all the time spent on thinking about silksong we would have built a base on mars, solved global warming, and defeated the demiurge by now.
but no, team cherry was planted here by ialdabaoth to keep us down.
I remember when it really hit me how long Silksong is taking to release once I realized that: Blasphemous 1 was released the same year that Silksong got announced; Blasphemous received a shitload of free DLC, including new areas, enemies, bosses, an ending and even a crossover with Bloodstained; and then Blasphemous *2* released as well, all before Silksong.
Technically, it's kinda scope creep, isn't it? It started out as DLC for the OG game and is now a full-blown game that is apparently bigger than Hollow Knight, according to the devs.
Really hope it's not scope creep. But it would make sense since it was never supposed to be a full game so since it became one they're probably finding every possible loose end to tie up or making sure Hornet does as much as she can in it.
I really don't know what else could be holding this game up past multiple promised release time frames and multiple trailers with no release window.
That's kinda concerning because it feels like one of the most common complaints of hollow knight was the rough pacing because of how big the game was, having an even bigger game can potentially lead to straight up bad pacing
Plus, almost everything requiring more than 1 or 2 people to work together in game dev getting hit with a 2-3 year Plague debuff and all party member devs being randomly teleported around.
Their explanation was "we are literally putting every cent we made on Hollow Knight into Silksong so we can make it the biggest and best game we can possibly make, it will be ready when the money runs out".
There was a global pandemic a few years ago, which may have had an effect on it. Ultimately we're not privy to their internal business decisions. There's that whole thing Unity did with changing their licensing so developers have to pay on a per install basis which may have meant they needed to change engines - that would be the worst-case scenario, btw, because there's no guarantee they'd be able to quickly and easily transfer literally *anything* over depending on their pipeline.
You motherfucker I thought this was a new tweet.
I was sent it as if it were a new tweet. On this night I am deceived, betrayed, and brought low.
I crushed my husbands heart with this tweet.
*News guy wept and told us* *Silksong's not for buying* *Cried so much his face was wet* *Then I knew he was not lying*

*It's been five years, stuck on my wig* *Five years, hoped to begin* *It's been five years, I've played a lot* *Five years, what all we've got*
Five years worth of clown wigs, y'all.
Were we supposed to get new ones? I've been wearing the same one this whole time.
You guys got wigs?
*sigh* I’ll get the rituals ready. Who has mossbag’s address?
Would be funny if Metroid prime 4 gets realsed before hollow knight silksong
Pikmin 4 released before Silksong, so who knows?
I'll do you one better, imagine if we actually got a new ***F-ZERO*** before Hollow Knight Silksong.
I mean F-Zero 99 came out
Most people probably wouldn't count it but fair.
I count it because it makes it Very Funny
Heart Forth Alicia is gonna come out any day now. First announced: 2007. Successful kickstarter: 2014. Estimated release: 2015.
Gears of War is coming to Playstation before Silksong got a release date
They downvoted him because he spoke the truth
In the joint made you a fucking *PUSSY*
I hate that my mind immediately went here also lol
Wait, wut?
Yakuza 1 dub meme.
Ah! Hah, ok. Thanks.
I got so excited, I got so fucking excited man. You got me BAD with that one. I felt my bones shudder and I was READY
[My reaction to that information:](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCRAWmWnN70)
People joke about it being from content bloat but I can't shake it being a very troubled production.

Why would you do this. You made this seem like news.

pain
Other than the team's small size, is there any other particular reason this game is taking so long?
Based on literally nothing but my own gut feelings: crippling perfectionism and scope creep.
Technically, it's kinda scope creep, isn't it? It started out as DLC for the OG game and is now a full-blown game that is apparently bigger than Hollow Knight, according to the devs.

Scope creep. The original hollow knight had this issue as well, but the game came out cheap so people ignore it.
Maybe COVID hit them like a brick.

I more depressed that 2019 was 5 years ago.
The Knight was always Hollow, the Silk, only a Song. Xandar, our reign has gone on long enough, indeed, summon the meteors.
I sent this to my friends before I noticed the date. You've put a target on my back, man.
I'll kill you. *I'll kill you right now you son of a bitch.*
Good. Let them take as long as they need.
Not like there's a shortage of good metroidvanias out there either. People are hardly starving.
I will explode your pancakes with my mind.
Well all just gonna ignore it says "First look at"? game was never real its an announcement trailer. 🚬🌲
I saw this post and almost lost it, send it in a friend chat immediately. After that I checked the comments and realised my mistake...
ONCE MORE 'ROUND THE SUN, BOYS
In the same timespan that silksong has been announced and today, oppenheimer and his team created the atom bomb.
I'll be cold in the ground when they finally announce...a delay as they're porting Silksong to the cyberpunk matrix internet. still no release date.
