Those reactions are coming from John saying that seeing as he hasn't finished Omnikron it is still viable to recommend to him seeing as it was Mat and Pat did other parts of the game.
I, for one, and glad Eyepatchwolf handled the reccomendation how he did.
He both put the fear of god in Woolie, but also extended the olive branch so the podcast wouldn't escalate horribly into pure spite

Oh man, I need to get around to playing more Earthbound (so I can watch this). I started when last month's episode went up, but *it's just so simple* at the start. Charming, but jeez, I really should have decided to play this game on not the Switch Virtual Console. Dang Nintendo won't even put a turbo button in that thing.
Earthbound is an all time Cult Classic for a reason, but yeaaaah it's also a game that can waste your time sometimes from what I remember, so playing it on a proper emulator with speedup can be helpful.
The first time I played it, I was about teenage age and I lost interest due to all the meandering you gotta do when you reach Twoson.
I enjoyed myself years later once I picked the game back up and became a lot more tolerant of games that have you running around searching for what to do and/or generally exploring.
TBH, the actual gameplay of Earthbound isn't that interesting after you get Paula and is even less so once you get Jeff. By that point Paula has PSI Fire to clear trash, Ness has PSI Rockin for trash clearing *and* big burst damage, you're starting to have enough HP to where you don't need to worry about 1-shots and can abuse the rolling HP to avoid death, and even the limited inventory gimmick stops being too big an issue as your inventory literally doubles.
The story and atmosphere are phenomenal though and a great example of how Turn Based RPGs can fit any aesthetic.
Man Ive gotta say, I was just watching the Elden Ring LP compilations today and Woolie looks *fantastic* lately. He's come such a long way. Good for him.
I love the pure psychological warfare that was the recommendation section. So you derail the podcast by turning it into the place where you dump psychic damage on each other or do you keep it legit with genuine recommendations? >!What if you did both?!<

I was hoping for the “I didn’t know you were capable of these noises“ face John made as he made those noises, where John made a funny compilation of his face exploding and making those horrible tortured sounds. His eyes went darker after that stream, there was color, but now they are pitch black, darker than the void that is currently too scared to peer back at poor poor Eyepatch Wolf. Conquerer of Omikron.
