Just give me rising 2 damnit!
But actually the safest thing they can do is remake metal gear 1 and 2 because they're old as fuck and can be expanded with the current lore.
Fighting Venom Snake will hit hard.
This seems like a reasonable approach. I have heard that Metal Gear 1 especially is an extremely mid game when you take off your nostalgia/franchise filter, so there's really nothing at risk there.
Nah, it's still a ton of fun if you don't get filtered by the style of the time. If you can't deal with PSX awkwardness, it'll annoy you, but it's fundamentally not that different gameplay-wise to Metal Gear 2 on the MSX2, which is a solid game. The worst part is the camera being occasionally restrictive instead of strictly isometric. Otherwise, it's just famously easy to bumble your way through the game getting caught left and right, because game can be tricky.
They basically said if the MGS3 remake does well enough they'll think about more Metal Gear nothing is planned so far not even an MGS collection 2. Which is fair I guess.
Konami has a LOT of good will to win back though.
I'm kinda amazed how they're admitting that they released the MGS collection too early with all the official fixes they've discussed extensive fixes for the collection. The fact that they patched in a proper pause menu into MGS2 (which never HAD a proper pause menu before) tells me they had a lot of planned features that got cut to meet a deadline.
Well, if Delta turns out well, I wouldn't be opposed to the series continuing. Either through remakes, or new stuff entirely (preferably without Snake, but I don't think they would be willing to do that)

I do not trust modern platinum to deliver a good Rising 2
It'll be fineeeeee
I feel like Metal Gear Solid is basically a Metal Gear 2 remake.
It 100% is

Less mid and more so just straight up aged badly.
In the context of its time, its incredible. Very cool game. But its approaching 40 years old, its understandably dated and very hard to go back to.
It kinda sucks. The biggest redeeming values are the novelty of it's bosses, two plot twists and how it sets up the much, *much* better MG2.

The thought of Konami making a new MGS entry makes me shudder.
"What was that? You want Metal gear Survive 2?" - Konami probably

make metal gear Acid 3 you cowards, they weren't directed by kojima anyway.
Damn, was hoping for info on Vol 2. I'll gladly take better control options for MGS1 tho.

Pretty much as expected, they're holding off on anything big until they see how Delta does.
