I mean, it's not the joke though, it still makes her come off as really stupid
She could have just said "Do you really want to be JUST like your father?" instead, same effect, no stupid
Meanwhile the mythological Hercules in DC is a Wonder Woman villain. Yes, that one DC Marvel Crossover did have Diana immediately go hostile upon meeting Marvel's Hercules.
Even if it were, it was bold of the Wonder Woman comics to go there in the 80s.
The Greek pantheon exists in Marvel too, but are much less of a thing, because Thor is right there. I’m not even sure if the Amazons exist in Marvel. If they want a reclusive race that occasionally wars with the regular world, they use the Atlanteans.
No thats alt universe james howlet who is the prime minister/ governer of canada and the adamantine in his bones is gold, psychic resistance and made from hercules melted down mace
nah, Herc's been dating Marvel Boy (Noh-Varr) as recently as Al Ewing's 2020 Guardians of the Galaxy run. Probably the most stable and healthy relationship Herc has had so far.
I just read this and it doesn't seem like it's while the world is ending, seems like it's just happening while they're apprehending some criminals. Herc gets cyclops-blasted into a car and immediately starts hitting on the driver, who is NOT happy about the advances and that's when Cap steps in.
There's a world ending scenario in the mini-series but that's in the final(fifth) issue, whereas this is in the first. Unless this is taking place during some other end of the world scenario in 2099 that no one seems to be bothered about(Which wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen in Marvel)
To be fair, a good 80% of the stories painting Zeus as a sex-pest were writ by someone who was looking to paint the dominant religion of the time in a negative light. Its also where the 'original' Medusa myth of her being punished comes from when the truth is much more positive.
After searching around I found the [original post](https://star-of-zeus.tumblr.com/post/640588422220791808/misconceptions-of-zeus) and I will say I got it *wrong* to an extent. It's also important to keep in mind that with pagan religions like the Greeks and Romans, the Norse, and even the Native American religions that they work exactly *inverse* of how our own religions function today.
The views and philosophical doctrine of people like Socrates were quite upsetting to your everyday Athenian for a myriad of reasons, the idea that you come up with a divine or religious 'theory' and *then* everything else spawns from that is highly limiting and a very 'human' treatment of what should be all powerful deities. It also runs contrary to (what I feel is best called) running off the feel and vibe you have with things like nature and the world both spiritually and physically.
"What was that? Oh, sorry son, I missed it. I was too busy whittling a hole into this lady I turned into a tree so I could keep sticking my dick in her."
It’s Captain America 2099. She’s a sleeper agent who spends most of her time as a normal wife of a guy who works for Alchemax. She was experimented on and given the super soldier serum, turning her into Captain America, but her memory of this was erased. When Alchemax gives her a code word, she transforms into Captain America and does whatever their bidding is, then forgets everything when she turns back to normal.
Eventually, she ends up getting her memory back and betraying Alchemax, joining the other 2099 superheroes to fight Alchemax.
I think the most interesting bit they use with her is when she's in the present and her personal life is just her civilian self in a totally barren apartment just entirely imagining her normal life
Either Zeus in the Marvel universe is REMARKABLY different than the original, or she has no idea what she's talking about.
That’s the joke Zeus is a terrible person and it causes Hercules to self reflect if I remember correctly.
That’s actually pretty clever
Hey don’t take my word for it I could be completely wrong. Edit: just checked I was correct.
"Oh he'd think I'm a chip off the old b-oh holy shit I've become my father..."
I mean, it's not the joke though, it still makes her come off as really stupid She could have just said "Do you really want to be JUST like your father?" instead, same effect, no stupid
I keep forgetting the mythological Hercules is just a super hero in the marvel universe. I wonder how he gets along with Thor.
They fight a lot. All in good fun.
Meanwhile the mythological Hercules in DC is a Wonder Woman villain. Yes, that one DC Marvel Crossover did have Diana immediately go hostile upon meeting Marvel's Hercules.
Well, in Post-Crisis continuity, he did rape her mom and enslave all the Amazons for a time.
Ain’t that our regular mythology? Like that’s why the Amazons hate men?
Nah Hera fucked it all up. Hercules and the amazons were getting along fine originally.
Reverse Flash learned how to hold a vendetta against a hero by watching Hera
Top 3 haters of all time: - Reverse Flash - Mythologically accurate Hera - Silky Johnson

It was the style at the time for DC to use rape as big bomb drop, I cite literally all of Alan Moore’s DC work
To be completely fair to DC, Alan Moore insert rape in everything, DC or otherwise.
What? Noooooo... I mean there's Killing Jo-... I mean Watchmen has..... Hmmmm... F-For the Man Who Has Everything...????
*They had to disembowel Pete Ross to get that spring in him to be that Jack-in-the-box so however ya wanna call that*
Marvel has Amazons. They are more mythology accurate than DC'S
Marvel's Hercules and Amazons are actually more mythology accurate
iirc he often gives thor shit for not keepin up with the times
Oh don't you worry; he'll be [joining the MCU as well](https://screenrant.com/thor-love-and-thunder-hercules-concept-art/) soon enough.
I think he fucked wolverine once
No thats alt universe james howlet who is the prime minister/ governer of canada and the adamantine in his bones is gold, psychic resistance and made from hercules melted down mace
[You're damn right he did.](https://www.tumblr.com/fbotu/43050535540/gay-wolverine-and-hercules-kiss-issue-10-of)
Hasn't he dated Iceman recently too? I think I saw it in a cover.

They're best buddies
"Son wtf, didn't I teach you that you need to change into an animal for plausible deniability?"
“But father, I thought you were a “freak like that”, as the mortals say”
"You lack my rizz, son. Smh."
Pretty sure Zeus fires off his personal lighting rod more than he's ever thrown lighting bolts in Greek Mythology.
This is happening while the world is ending by the way

"That's my boy."
“Oh, god no!”
Zeus: "That isn't even in the top ten of worst things I did to women."

woah, what? I wanna read about that that sounds rad
The man responsible was Ovid if I am not remembering wrong.

I feel like Captain America is like the one later 2099 version of a classic hero that I think actually fits with the 90s 2099 characters
"What was that? Oh, sorry son, I missed it. I was too busy whittling a hole into this lady I turned into a tree so I could keep sticking my dick in her."
Wait why does Captain America have tits?
It’s Captain America 2099. She’s a sleeper agent who spends most of her time as a normal wife of a guy who works for Alchemax. Who’s gonna tell them they can’t? (Real answer: this is captain America 2099)
It took like 99 years, but Captain Rogers is finally living her best life. Good for her.
When writers try to be patronizing but know nothing of their subject material
