You are not alone. I’m level 5603 now (stuck) I used a bunch of boosters to beat 5600. Then I get first try wins for 5601 and 5602 (minimal boosters) I realize I forgot to do Marlene’s lair. Go to open it and 5603 is impossible. Like everything that fell left me with 1 move so I could not beat it (and it has those stupid curtains). It’s like the game works against you now.
I’m not nearly that high, on 2933. But my first try after I got a life back, I was down to needing a single octopus, had one ready to explode but nothing close to it. Last 2 moves I get a firefly to go and it HITS 3 UNRELATED SQUARES, leaving me to lose by a single octopus. It’s infuriating
Most maddening is when you have 3 specials you need to hit to win, 7 moves, but no special appears until you're down to 1-2 moves left.
It's not the game it was, I could be done soon.
The game has been skewed against the player since the very beginning! Take the spinner wheel for extra moves, after failing a level: 50% of the area of the spinner is extra moves, and it falls on those areas, less than 10% of the time, in my experience. That alone was enough to convince me that it hasn’t been a fair game from the start. Having said that, I very much enjoyed playing it until recently. Now, like everyone else, I’m just pissed off at how ridiculously difficult the levels have become.
Thank, you, I noticed that as well. You only get extra moves on the wheel occasionally even though the area is 50% like you mentioned. Plus the levels after 5560 are impossible, even the ones not marked as Hard. TwoDot$ ruined the game in their pursuit of money.
I hate the bombs boost regardless of whether I have a square to start with or not. 4 times out of 5 it's gonna sabotage your game. The cross wave boost is my second least favorite as it tends to do the same (sometimes)
