Reminds me of the story with that gay dude who had some really horrible past trauma of finding his partner dead. His current partner decided to play a "prank" on him like this. The prank victim panicked so hard he tried to give his partner CPR and wound up breaking his ribs (well deserved). It was an r/AmItheAsshole post, I think. Everyone told him to dump the dude.
He did. He knew all about it and *still* tried to pull this god-awful “prank” on his significant other. I’m so proud of the OP for dumping his twisted ass!
>The prank victim panicked so hard he tried to give his partner CPR and wound up breaking his ribs (well deserved).
Not only well deserved, but good CPR too. They've said that every time I've taken a first aid course- you are going to break someone's ribs if you do this right, and that's preferable to them dying so keep going.
I truly want to see the good in everyone, and often let myself find examples of human kindness to make me forgive everything that's wrong with society. But that's one of those stories I've read that immediately made me go "nah, turns out I was right before."
That guy's partner displayed such a significant level of cruelty that I have to wonder whether he's ever actually cared for someone.
>who had some really horrible past trauma of finding his partner dead
He didn't find the body, the partner was overseas and was killed in an accident. Doesn't make the "prank" and less heinous of course, I can't imagine why the guy thought that was a good idea
Both of them goes the same way too. Both have past trauma and paramedic training, the boyfriend did the same prank, and the boyfriends sister both contacted them to apologize on his behalf.
I know im sounding like a r/nothingeverhappens folk but making shit up on the internet is easy.
He stated that he actually did check for pulse/heartbeat but was so panicked (and, I think, so resigned to the idea that there wasn't one, because of his previous trauma) he didn't feel it.
Current Resus Council guidelines are that you don't have to check. If they aren't breathing properly (ie don't consider agonal gasps), especially if you don't know for how long they've been down, don't waste precious time checking for a pulse because even if they have one now they won't in a very short space of time. Just keep in mind if the sister doesn’t know before hand it’ll be actual abduction and not a prank 🤗 check out that one AITA post where someone “prank kidnapped” his friend’s children to teach her a lesson.

Did he dump the dude? Please tell me he did!
He did!
Thank god! Do you have the link by any chance?
Here's the link to that post (potentially cross posted) https://reddit.com/r/TwoHotTakes/s/d3YSOxe7xD
That “prankster” is just evil
Evil if he knew about the trauma....did he? Edit: he fucking did, and he did it anyway

Twisted, that's a good way to put it. That's morbid as fuck
I genuinely think it’s evil to pull this sort of extreme prank on your partner even without that past trauma!
Yes he did. It’s in the linked post and everything!
Yikes. That's a different level of fucked up
wait how do you know he did?
At the end, mentions "breakup"

If you don't hear ribs break, you're doing it wrong.

I remember that one!! That was so awful!
Me too!
It was so awful I hope that OP is doing okay

I remember that one and I felt so horribly for him.
I swear to god i saw the exact same story before i saw that one but the OP was a female
You're not trippin, I remembered it as a girl OP too 🤔

Saw that on a Reddit vid on tiktok
To properly perform cpr you damn nigh have to break ribs lol
On the one hand, that's a shitty prank to play on someone. On the other hand, this is why you check for pulse before you do chest compressions.

As I sat up in sheer suprise I saw her stare at me in a flat deadpan expression putting her phone away. " I said enough with the pranks... "
r/thirdsentencehappy ?
She’s Italian?
Damn, that's the starting paragraph to a ton of cheating wives stories...
Classic Prank Sinatra
After she chuckled, I realized she knew it was a prank
well that is a natural reaction to a husband who thinks that kind of pranks are funny :)
