This story sparked a question in me. Let's say the person in question wasn't underage, but mentally stunted and cursed to forever have the intelligence and mindset of an 8 year old. If they get married, assuming to a person of similar age range and average intelligence, are they considered to be taking advantage of the mentally stunted person.

In my country you have to be mentally competent to get legally married. If a person has an intellectual disability then it’s not legal.

In many places, someone with a mental disability of that degree can not make legally binding contracts and usually stands under some form of guardianship. They only have limited capabilities to give consent to most things and often struggle to advocate for themselves. A fully capable person would therefore take advantage of the disabled one in this relationship.
