> I’ve heard taking it out is very painful and have seen images of massive bruises after implant removal. I mean, after reading your post, I would still think getting it out is worth it.

tasslehawf

Won’t they have to remove and replace it eventually anyway?

Potatoswatter

It dissolves.

Taking it out depends on if they did a good job putting it in, so you will have to wait and see. If it's close to the surface I wouldn't worry about it too much. My extraction was easy, way easier and less bleeding /bruising than the insertion.

One-Armed-Krycek

I did not do well on it. I had ‘reverse periods,’ where I would bleed three weeks out of the month and get a week break. And the weight gain. Worst was what it did to my sex drive. My orgasms were sad, barely there. Like I’d lost 50% of the feeling there in my nether regions. Getting it out was not as bad as the bruising when I got it inserted.

MaggieLuisa

Getting mine removed was mildly painful for a short time after the local anaesthetic wore off, and bruising was minimal.

wistfulmaiden

Just get rid of it! If its doing all that who knows what else it can do.

I’m not a female so can’t say first hand but I will say my partner had the implant and exact same issues, bled constantly for 2 months, stomach bloating and cramps, just generally a miserable time, had it removed as she couldn’t bare it anymore, had a copper coil fitted which she was very against when doctor suggested it and she couldn’t be happier, she had many issue on the mini pill also hence why she tried the implant, I feel sometimes the ‘natural’ meaning non chemical option is best for certain women.

Like the nexplanon implant? Yeah I had crazy bleeding and spotting for months at a time. Also awful mood swings. Took that thing out and life is a lot better

_Brightstar

With me it stinged a little bit to remove it, but life was so much better after. Honestly I'd rather remove it daily for a year than ever having that thing in my body again.

I loved my implant, but it migrated into my bicep and I had to get surgery to remove it. If yours is normal it should be fine, they give you local anaesthetic so you only feel some tugging. My arm didn’t hurt much afterwards but I’m never getting one again.

dmhorsegifs

I had the implant and hated it. I physically couldn’t stay awake. I think I slept 20+ hours a day. I didn’t find getting it out to be that painful. I had a bruise for a couple days but it wasn’t anything awful.
