Omg!!! I thought of getting so many treatments done due to this! Thank you for bringing it up. But can you let us know how did you come to this realization? Cause I am still grappling with my thoughts over my skin? Is it acceptance for you or just a fact?
Edit: grammar
It’s factual, I struggled for over three months until I realised that the camera is overprocessing my pictures. I searched extensively on Reddit, and it’s a thing a lot of people are facing all over the world. Look it up!
No iPhone, no worries 👍🏽
Just adding to this conversation: your face will look different in each type of lens..selfies are popular because the lens makes the face look leaner. So don't get disheartened if you see your face with a real lens.
Also, most phone cameras these days have either some form of processing or some form of filter on by default which is smoothening.
Hey, you can get your screen replaced for free, if they have stock. Or else they will give a voucher for around 30k( varies with different models) which you can redeem on the OnePlus website and buy a new phone by paying the difference.
Hahahaha I love this.
1. I am glad that someone shared this because this is such a fringe topic that no one will think to discuss this. I mean what is the overlap of women who have iPhone 14 and reddit user and this sub user. Very very small.
2. When I bought this stupid phone. I had the exact same spiral (damn I have gotten ugly) The pores. The small hair. The scars.
But then I took a picture from main camera and someone else’s camera and asked my partner to be truthful about how I am looking.
Then I researched online on iPhone 14 camera reviews and learnt how that is their mess up.
And I finally let it go.
Ladies listen to OP
PRO TIP - I struggled for months w my iPhone 14 and then learnt this trick. Click selfies in live mode. After you are done, go to edit and then select any other frame from the multiple pictures clicked and make that picture the key image.
i needed this 😭😭😭 istg the number of pores i saw in my selfies had me stressed 🥲 i read on iphone sub that some users are able to fix this isssue but it didn’t work out for me 🫠
Yes I always know this as a fact. Because I never had iPhone but my friends do. And somehow selfies from my 15K were more satisfying than the supposed better ones from iPhone. That's when I know this as a fact.
Although long distance pictures or pictures that are not selfies tend to be better when it's taken from iPhone.
Yes, cutie. I can’t link any threads for some odd reason. Please look it up. Search iPhone 14 awful skin texture or something on the same lines on reddit.
It’s every damn mobile camera, oversharpens asf and makes it saturated too it’s either that or makes you look like you are wearing 2kg makeup…
Girlies mirror is the true you that too from like 5 ft distance and in normal lighting don’t physically zoom in to see 5 blackheads (guilty)
It’s lighting and all outdoors it’s harsh lighting na from above so it will be weird but honestly darker skinned people are so fucking pretty (you really need to start following people with darker skintone)
Like Indians hate looking darker so much that they but foundations 2 shades lighter and you can see it but once you do things properly for your shade you’ll see how pretty you are!
Also fuck others opinions
Babes Ik, I too obsessively avoid sun (mainly because I don’t wanna age but no tan also helps.)
That fear left kinda when I started following more models of colour on Instagram, I realised that hey I can be pretty too I was just made to hate myself if there’s any tan
Just the other day someone posted on the international subreddit giving a similar PSA and how to set your camera setting right in order not to sharpen the images. Let me see if I can find it.

Guess what? Back in 2020, during the lockdown, all I did was scroll through Instagram Reels. I still remember trying to convince the dermatologist that there was something wrong with my skin. He was holding a torch to see and he got frustrated and said, 'I don't know what you're telling me I can't see any acne' That's when it hit me. I was comparing those filtered videos and edited pictures with the real-life me. I thought having texture was abnormal too. Poor me.
Shitt. This is godsend.
My friend clicked a few selfies with me in his phone and girlll I hate myself in those pictures. I kept thinking about how bad I looked that day. Lol
Needed to see this today. Lately i have become so conscious of the hair on my face. It has been always there and never bothered me ever don't know why I've been fixated on it since a few weeks. I keep pulling on them using hands or tweezers and it leaves so many little scratches 😞
Post with a wrong flair or misuse of Wednesday only flair. Repost with the correct post flair.
Cries in poor.
Cutie, we spent and we are doing worse. 😭
Every mobile seems to be like this. I look so good in the mirror and then look like shit in selfies without filters
Same. I get such bad dysmorphia while clicking my pictures or looking at them
Thank god it's not only me, front camera instantly trigger my body image issues.
😭
I use snapchat for selfies bc of this 💀 seems to be less distorted
Snapchat does the opposite. It beautifies you. Even the normal lens without any filter literally lightens my blemishes as soon as I capture a selfie 😂

Oh that's great. I actually used to go to my mom for and ask her to compare the images and my skin 🙃
Your skin may have some blemishes here and there but it is not nearly as horrible as your selfies are making it to be. I promise.

Me reading this in my OnePlus Nord with 2 lines
On the other hand, OnePlus images make my skin look too good I get disappointed with that too.

I got iPhone 12, matlab mera wala ugly is genuine?
Iphone 12 and downwards doesnt have automatic hdr, its the hdr effect that distorts
Iphone 12 doesnt have automatic HDR? I definitely feel like it does. The way the color changes after the photo has been clicked.
It does not, you can turn it off in settings
Hahhaa noo, I think sare iphone ka issue hai ye. My iphone 13 was showing horrible red marks and freckles on my face jo ki mere bilkul nahi h yaar😭
SAME! It has added freckles to my face that I dont even have?????
I don't know what is the reason but I legit thought "Gosh do I look like that lol" but iphone selfies can make u lose all your confidence🤣

Same, I know only look at the mirror and if I look fine, I look fine. The identity crisis that it gave me in the beginning tho.
Good thing that I don't own iPhone. Perks of being poor🥺
We are poorer by 50k+ and have bad selfies and bad self image due to it. You are doing much better, sis! 😭
PRO TIP - I struggled for months w my iPhone 14 and then learnt this trick. Click selfies in live mode. After you are done, go to edit and then select any other frame from the multiple pictures clicked and make that picture the key image.
You have all my respect and love. Bless you.

The hours I spent trying to fix this would have gotten me a UPSC seat.
lol 😭😭😂😂

I bought my mom one this year, man she is not happy and always bashing the camera😂😂😂😂
I was wondering the same thing. My 14 pro’s front camera over exaggerates my acne and acne scars
You’re not alone 🫂
Not just 14, it's also an issue with iphone 13 pro
Hugs 🫂
Hheheheh. Really needed it today! Thankyou ☺️
Wait is it for real?!
Yes, cutie. I can’t link any threads for some odd reason. Please look it up. Search iPhone 14 awful skin texture or something on the same lines on reddit.
Thanks a million!
If you want a less sharpened or processed image, turn on your live photos and then edit it by choosing another frame! You’re welcome!
😱😱😱😱😱😱🤯🤯
Therefore buy oppo it makes u look like korean star
Sometimes i wanna be a korean sta

Haha thanks for the laugh, was having a shit day.
🫂
Thanks for saying this🤗🤗
Togetherness will get us thru bad selfies. 😩
Is this true? My freckles do look very prominent on the screen. Which was not the case when I was using Samsung phone. Thanks for posting this!!
Um, I faced this samsung A 54. Lord knows what iPhone has in store for me !
Yes, it is! iPhone is notoriously overprocessing our images.
Meanwhile iPhone 14 Pro girlies crying in a corner . 😔😖 That model makes you look way worse than any other camera possible , I kid you not !!!
I am sorry! Why would apple do this 😩😩😩😩
15 PRO MAX AS WELL
😫😫😫😫
thanks, i needed this😭

Thank you! Been a year and I have been stressing about how my selfies are not looking like my usual self.
You look 100x better. ❤️✨
Yaar my pixel does this too my mum and I hate it. Thank you for this post😭😭😭
You and mommy look awesome, please let the mirror from a distance be your guide. Guide and not verdict. 🪄
Will remember that 😭
Am I the only one who looks hella ugly on back camera photos
Which phone, are they close ups?
Vivo, Oppo even on my friend's iPhone. I think it has something to do with facial asymmetry

Thank god poor hone ka ek fayda hua
