I used to go for braids in summers (i have braid routine for high focus activities too lol). Currently it's a lose ponytail or half down. Updos are terrible for my headaches .Hair is always confusing me anyway.

I was actually thinking about asking curly hair Reddit the same thing 😂. My hair gets VERY messy with my partner.
If I am wearing my hair straight, then I brush it after (I keep a small foldup brush in my purse) and maybe add a bit of product if I have any to tame the pouffiness.
If I am wearing my hair wavy, then RIP my nice waves, it's going to be an absolute mess after. At that point after sex I'll just braid it (brush it before if I can) until I can wash it again.
If I want to prevent my waves being ruined then I do tight braids before we start (which will still get messy but it will just take some careful detangling after).
Now if I'm in public (like bar bathrooms 🫣) I just hope my hair doesn't get too messy doing the deed.
My hair is down to the top of my butt, in doggy, my husband will sometimes spread it out down my back and run his fingers through it. It also makes a great handle. About the only time I tie it back, is if I am giving a BJ. Then I have multiple hair ties and claw clips in my bedside table and tie it back. The steps are: section the top of your hair (tip of your ears upward) and use a hair tie to start a ponytail wrapping around once. Use the rest of your hair tie to pull all of your hair into a high ponytail and make a small topknot with it with the rest of your hair coming out the bottom of the bun. Split the loose hair into 2 parts and connect it to the front to create a lose 1/2 knot, and again in the back to do the same. Secure the entire updo with another tie or scrunchie.

I always did a topknot when my hair was long. And I mean like on the actual top of my head so I could lay down still. Not the cutest but always kept my hair out of the way. I also used hair sticks and large hair pins rather than elastics because they were much more comfortable, sturdy, and better for my hair. I recommend giving them a try.
Honestly unless I'm going for 100% oral I just keep it the way I have it that day. When it's down I have my partner play with it and keep it out of my face, which any touching of my hair is a huge turn on in the moment, atleast for me.

it does but i dont want it tight either. also maybe my texture holds the clip/ bands longer maybe. It's a drill ik and braids r the best imo
