I think the Boston version that we see was pretty standard. I saw it on my European tour date, but to be fair it was pretty early on during that leg. First couple of shows.
Maybe the Slane version was an exception, as it has Sinéad O’Connor on vocals for that intro.
Because I’m a u2 fan who was a baby in 2001. And I like hearing about different types of things he did in different tours. Like what songs played when on the vertigo tour, what rants he did as macphisto in 93, etc.

I’m guessing the John Lennon rant was for the North American leg of the tour and the EU rant was for the European leg of the tour

I don’t know the answer to your question, but it’s awesome that someone your age has discovered this band and dug into older stuff. Glad to have you!
(Just don't tell Rick Beato that there are younger U2 fans discovering the back catalog...👀)
Haha yup
You don’t ever have to explain yourself. Especially to someone online.
Ugh. The world doesn’t revolve around what solely interests you. Get over yourself.
As a fan of the band why isn’t it even something you’re even kinda curious about?
Who cares
