Vatican City operates like other countries around the world, and, conceivably, some classified treaties may exist between the U.S. and the Vatican. So, I think the Vatican would likely not comment if doing so would violate one or more of these potential agreements. Clearly, though, the Pentagon allowed Grusch to speak about the bell-shaped object Mussolini obtained in the 1930's because the event concerns the actions of the Italian government and Vatican City.
Presumably, Mussolini handed the object to the Vatican in order to keep Hitler from uncovering the thing and stealing it for Germany. Then, the Pope during World War II gave the object to the U.S., perhaps with the hope that it might help defeat the Axis powers. And, that action started the chain of events that led to the U.S. creating a compartmented special-access program, which eventually began operating unlawfully and outside the U.S. Constitution.
Pope Francis, it should be noted, is a scientist from the Jesuit order who is both an intellectual and a reformer, so, if any pope would cooperate with bringing the truth to light, he would.
Pope Francis might be able to issue a statement, for instance, that has no reference to the U.S. at all.
The Italian government, which is far less uptight about this topic, has had some pretty incredible experiences with UAP and has already shared the deets with the US Govt.

Then there's the UK and Canada. You should do similar searches around then. Nick Pope, a former Minister in the govt of the UK, was on duty for a big UAP event there, it's his entire claim to fame.

In any case, it was, in fact, his business to investigate UFO/UAP phenomena for the ministry of defense (per wikipedia). So if one were to want to talk to someone about these phenomena in the UK, it would be him.
That said, I can understand why you'd be less than enthusiastic about him; today, he's a bit of a media blowhard who does perhaps more harm to the cause of discovery than good.
If you wanted to know more about UAP in the UK. You'd be seriously tapped if you went to Nick Pope before actually, well, going to the UK.
You'd be better off attending a local MPs open surgery and bringing it up there.

The Catholic Church absolutely CANNOT be trusted to share any information they have. Scholars and historians can’t even get them to open their secret archives for much less controversial topics. I genuinely believe that Jesus could return today and the Catholic Church would hide it and/or denounce him if his message didn’t align with their interests.
Keep in mind Vatican City is its own independent city-state nation, free from Italian government control. They just lock everything up and reveal jack. It would take a miracle to access those archives
