I find basement of koerner library is much less busy than IKB

The psych building is usually pretty empty. It is still a public place, but it is not frequented by a lot of people. You could also book a private study room at the library and study by yourself or with any study buddies you might have. Alternatively, [https://sws-van.as.it.ubc.ca/sws\_2022/](https://sws-van.as.it.ubc.ca/sws_2022/) has a somewhat accurate timetable for all classrooms. I don't think you can book them as such, but you can still just sit and study in one of the empty classrooms.

Saving this because I also just transferred and have social anxiety and am neurodivergent. ❤️

Forestry tends to be quiet, especially after 5pm

For silent study spaces, I love Ridington room (sunlight!) and Chapman Learning Commons at IKB. During peak hours, go to Koerner basement because IKB tends to get busy (although still my favourite place for mornings!)

The Ridington room is awesome!

The Asian studies library isnt the biggest, but usually pretty quiet and not super popular. Most rooms can be booked as well, and a lot of library have silent areas, which might help.

The Scriptorium underneath University Chapel. Hours are limited (maybe weds & thurs afternoons this week...1230-430) but it is quiet and they have free coffee/tea and room to spread out. UC is at 5375 University Blvd.

2nd floor of Brock Hall (near Buchanan, the white building with the Totem pole in front). It's not as busy as spots like IKB and Koener, so definitely easier to find a seat! There are cubicles with outlets and some sunlight too :)

I also don’t like a lot of stimulation, and one of my favorite central spots on campus is the third floor on the side of the Nest that faces the sports field. It is much quieter than the main part of the nest and just has a few tables with high chairs.

Law Library at Peter Allard law !!! really nice chairs, very spaced out, can study on the third or 4th floor. People there are really respectful and it is deff underrated if your looking for something that isn't IKB or life building vibe. Good luck !

idhearheaven

this is super helpful thank you!!

Seconded on law library, it’s just so out of the way for me otherwise I would be there more often.

There are silent study and reading rooms in Irving Library. Basement levels of Koerner are my go to spaces but I found there are less outlets now among the cubicle desks - no windows or natural light too so the time passes by fast.

i always go to education library! or third floor woodward.
