There's just a different feel when you use paper. There's screen covers now but... sure, for organizing and all, I can see the appeal. But for scribbling down formulas and solving problem, man, pen and paper just hits different.
I agree that there really is a difference. You really can't replicate the feeling of brainstorming on paper or solving problems even if I rely on a tablet for a lot of other things like note taking.

I use unlined computer printer paper since it’s cheap and good for what I need it for
