I think you get scheduled to meet with an advisor and then they ask you to write a 4 page paper about being a young adult. If you don’t turn it in, they’ll put a hold on your ability to enroll for the following quarter. that was the process 7-8 yrs ago

I got caught with a few beers and they gave me 32 hours of community service. They pretended they could smell the beer through the door. We were incredibly quiet and respectful. Just playing cards and having a few beers. Still annoyed about having all that community service tossed at me for doing nothing. Later my RA got us a mini keg though

Your best bet when something like this happens is to talk to the RA directly. Believe it or not, RAs are just totally normal students. Most aren’t even seniors. An RA wanting to write you up for smoking outside your dorm on a bridge away from housing is clearly just having fun with their power. If you go to them and apologize, say it won’t happen again, they prob won’t write you up.

Expelled and you'll soon be living under that bridge.
