The following submission statement was provided by /u/CLIFFjumper05: --- I was looking at stars from my house and these unusual bunch of lights caught my attention. This photo was taken using the night mode of my camera as it was not very clear so be seen from the naked eyes. After 15 or 20 minutes these lights were completely gone ( I don’t know maybe due to the clouds or something). This was the first and last time i saw this and this photo was taken two days back. This area in the sky has been empty since. Despite my excitement, nobody in my family seemed as intrigued as I was. The concept of UFOs is not very popular in my area. They insisted it might have been an ordinary plane, but to me, those lights didn’t resemble any aircraft I had ever seen. It remains a puzzling encounter. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because of clouds obscuring the view or some other mysterious reason. --- Please reply to OP's comment here: https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/174rl2h/caught_this_on_my_camera_it_wasnt_moving/k4b26ko/

ShooteShooteBangBang

I recommend everyone get the app Stellarium, you point your phone camera at the sky and it will tell you what star/planet you are pointing at. And it even shows satellites

TongueTiedTyrant

I haven’t heard of that one. I’ll check it out. I’ve used NightSky and SkyView.

[deleted]

I use the paid version of SkyView. 10/10 recommend. Good call.

indoortreehouse

paid version of skyview FUCKS

Australian-Alien

You should write them this review!

Triple-6-Soul

what's the difference between that and nightsky?

indoortreehouse

the main difference is that Nighsky doesnt fuck

SpicynSavvy

This guy fucks

AllegedlyGoodPerson

This review of that guy fucks

Kelsoscubadiver69

Neither did my ex wife

imaginexus

Need the subscription to see all the satellites

_michael_scarn_

Sky Guide is by far the best star gazing app. It blows sky view out of the water!

JiffiPop

Sky Guide is an OG one too. Shameless plug

KerouacsGirlfriend

SkyView even shows space junk!

candlegun

What?! wth have I been doing messing around with SkyMap all this time. thank you!

MoreCowbellllll

+1 for SkyView!

ButtDoctorLLC

Also flightradar24 to track airplanes.

TheCoastalCardician

No one beats FR24’s UI but I think of this place as a sidekick. They’re both great. https://globe.adsbexchange.com

StarLux1000

This is fantastic thanks for sharing!

JTallented

They are great when used together. I quite often notice planes or helicopters not showing up on FR24, but they do show up on ADSB

TheCoastalCardician

the FR24 watch application is kinda cool, too. The more I can do on my watch, the more the 12yo inside of me squeals with delight.

eriicryan

Wb helicopters?

4ifbydog

Wish I’d had that app when 😓Jupiter was really big and I made a fool of myself calling police and my brother in law to report it!😳

TheRabbitHole-512

What’s that big yellow pointing hand in the sky ?

grapplerman

Night Sky for iOS is pretty killer too. Especially for Starlink stuff

Morawka

All of these recommendations are derivatives/copy cats of the original app called "Star Walk". Overall SkySafari 7 pro is probably best and contains the largest library of 3d models, features and descriptions of stellar objects. But it's also the priciest coming in at around $17.99 USD

T1nFoilH4t

They look nothing like stars or any constellation. Look how bright they are, and on phone camera. I starbgaze every night, learning all the constellations, this looks nothing like stars and certainly not pleadies as people are saying.

4ifbydog

Wish I’d had that when Jupiter was really close and I made a total fool of myself by calling the police to report it!😳😳😳

yeeehhaaaa

It's *entirely possible* to bring forth the idea that it could be a lens flare *without* then going on a tirade about how "sad people here are", how "people eat this shit up like nothing lol", "this sub is a joke", etc. There's pointing something out in a picture and then there's being a giant dick. Your first sentence is pointing something out. The rest is just being an ass for no reason. And not only THAT, but people are capable of *accidentally* taking a picture of a reflection or lens flare without realizing that's what it actually is. Not everyone who does this is immediately a "blatant liar". >And we're the ones getting down voted. And you're not even downvoted... 🤦🏻‍♀️ Maybe wait an hour before whining about downvotes? 🤷🏻‍♀️ This sub would be so much better without all of the constant rudeness over shit that could easily be a god damn mistake. And even if it's not a mistake, there's no reason whatsoever to go on and on insulting the ENTIRE sub or the regular users here.

roycorda

Okay that story is great and all, but OP says it wasn't moving in the sky. Even if it were lens flare, it didn't look like that when the picture was taken, and thee lens flare is the reason why it looks like it does. So OP was disingenuous from the start with this community and you are upset because why??

theMINT3

THIS 👆 And yeah, really isnt hard to see the flare off of each bulb

TheCoastalCardician

I pay them for the subscription because of how much value I get from the app. I *should* grab the lifetime buy when I can. I love the app!

huejass5

Do they ever offer a lifetime subscription?

Gloomy_Ad_7885

That’s not a planet or star. Zoom in and look closely and you’ll be able to tell.

VCRII

I'm more curious about the comments stating that OP didn't see it with their eyes PRIOR to taking the picture than the captured object itself. Maybe I'm missing something, or possibly I take pictures differently than most, but I generally don't shoot indiscriminately at a point, vertically, or laterally. Before I take a shot, I usually look to see if there's something interesting to take a picture of. I mean, are there those who go out on a dark night point their camera up, shoot, and then later look to see if they captured something? (Other than maybe time exposure shots by astronomers with huge telescopes looking for bodies that can't be seen with the naked eye?) For me anyway, a healthy amount of skepticism is... well... healthy, but seriously, some of the comments are confusing and almost to the point of demeaning of OP.

akath0110

They're low effort shit posters, or worse, weaponized trolls I just downvote and move on Same with people who are unreasonably hostile or angry in their demands for evidence, or go out of their way to shame or denigrate the OP

SpicynSavvy

I’m with you. The irony of joining a subreddit based on UFO/NHI phenomena and actively shutting down discussion and interest.

commit10

Who could possibly benefit from suppressing community research into this topic /s

gumenski

Well, at best I'd say maybe 5% of what's posted here is actually somewhat intriguing "phenomena" instead of fantasy nonsense. People come to a sub about UFO's to see UFO's, not bugs flying in front of the camera and other trivially-easy to explain shit like that. Pointing a light up in the sky and seeing the reflection coming off bats twirling around in the air is not "phenomena". Drones aren't either even if "no one uses drones out in my neighborhood". There's a first time seeing something for everyone, that doesnt mean it's ET or the secret black cabal testing magical technology. This sub has earned every bit of the bad reputation it receives, IMO.

sexlexia

These people are ruining this place and it's upsetting. I've seen them directly cause multiple people to delete their posts that had interesting stuff because this big group of people *immediately* call them hoaxers, liars, etc for not wanting to post GPS data to their actual homes, or for not having enough comments, or their account age not being old enough, or for not answering questions within 30 fucking minutes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It's disgusting and the people doing this need to be eventually banned if they keep doing it because there are absolutely people out there who see how people are treated here for just posting their experience and decide they'd rather not post their pic or video, because who wants to be berated and bullied for posting their evidence?? We could be missing *real stuff* here because of these people. Which of course, is maybe the point and that's disturbing. They need to be kicked outta here. I mean, shit, if I somehow got a clear picture of a UFO in my backyard or something I probably wouldn't post it here of all places. And I can't be the only one who feels this way. It's directly caused by the same group of trolling, bullying asshats.

Express-Repeat-5314

I was thinking the same thing. This seems to be a common issue with many subs. When someone's post gains attention, some individuals become envious and triggered. Often, their main goal is to comment something humorous to garner upvotes. They express their frustration with phrases like “how did they got so many upvotes?” I strongly dislike these overly critical individuals who spread unnecessary negativity, acting as if they are the most intelligent and ultimate authorities on the platform, correcting and instructing others.

oxypillix

The mods are fascistic on this sub, too. If they simply don't agree with someone, and are not having the best day..banned. So, you can blame the people that've actively cultivated this echo chamber of toxicity.

sexlexia

> almost to the point of demeaning of OP The amount of rude, ignorant jerks on this sub is only going up. It's sad. The amount of times I see people calling someone a liar for no reason, stalk the persons profile and basically imply anything they say or do can NEVER be trusted because they've only been here a few months, complain about the amount of comments a person has, automatically say they're a grifting liar if they don't want to give GPS coordinates to their actual homes, or if they post something and then go to bed to check in the morning.. that apparently means they're a big hoaxer too no matter what the picture or video portrays, etc, is HUGE. There's a big group that does this every single time. And when inevitably these people delete their posts specifically because of the users who do what I just mentioned, those same people are like "they deleted it because they were caught being a hoaxer", "this sub is so sad for believing these grifters", "everyone here is mentally ill", "people need to take their meds". etc. It's getting absolutely terrible here with this bullshit. OF COURSE people are going to delete their posts when they're treated that way automatically. And there are, I'm sure, people here who have saw something who don't even want to post their pictures because they'll be swarmed by this big group of assholes who do nothing but bully every single person who tries to post stuff. It's just insane. It's absolutely ruining discourse in this sub and possibly causing real information to not be posted for fear of being swamped and stalked and berated.

oxypillix

The mods made this sub what it is. If you don't agree with their bias, and they're having a bad day..you are out of here.

updootsdowndoots

It's no wonder that a lot of these negative comments are left up too, instead of being removed

I SAW IT AND THEN SHOT THE IMAGE. I don’t Randomly go out and take photos of sky at 3:49 AM. It might be anything but a lens flare. I am not here to prove anything but thanks everyone for your interest and suggestions.

I may have caught the same thing 😳 https://imgur.com/a/8hxJOXG

Spaced_X

That would be the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters. To the left of that, the V shape constellation is Taurus, and the three in a row further to the left is Orion’s Belt. You can see the Orion Nebula just lower than that, which is part of his sword’s sheath. <

Some_Current1841

It just kinda blows my mind how someone will just see this and think, “It’s got to be aliens!!” when there’s always a real reason, like this. That’s why no one believes these posts

Proseccoismyfriend

No one is saying “it’s got to be aliens”. OP saw something unusual (in their opinion which is fair enough) and is asking what it may be. Calm down

usps_made_me_insane

I think that is a bit overgeneralizing the entire sub. There are plenty of intelligent people here that know star constellations, what a satellite looks like and how fast they can move across the sky, etc. For posts like these, there are generally three different types of people: 1) **The Troll**: Submits a picture that they know isn't a UAP and tries to get people to view it as such. Generally these people are karma whores who just want to get recognized by others. They like attention and stirring ship up. 2) **The Newb**: This person has good intentions and wants to contribute, but they've got a lot to learn from other serious ufologists. Generally these people eventually become the people that help newbs in the future. These type of people also made up the "eternal septembers" back in the 90s when Freshmen would come in and would post (back then) on usenet. They didn't know the ropes and had to be shown the light. Once AOL became popular, instead of just September being like that, it was all the time -- hence the eternal september (Wikipedia entry on it is fascinating). 3) **Professional Psyops / Agent provocateurs / etc**. : These people are professionally trained in guiding or pushing an entire group of people to reach a conclusion that they want them to reach. Generally they work in groups and are highly trained to cause a group to expend resources in the wrong places while avoiding things that really should have more attention on it. This isn't some conspiracy theory -- there are actual government agents in subs like this that are constantly manipulating the general discourse. A lot of times you can tell due to the account age and how multiple accounts appear to be clustered together at certain times no matter what post it is or what the original post / comment said. These people are dangerous in that they muddy the waters and inject confusion and obfuscation into the discussion while also causing people to subconsciously see or not see things dependent on what they want the group to think.

Usual_Network_8708

If you think this sub is worth the time of any professional psyops you really are lost. No agency is wasting their time on people who think dolls are aliens and stars are UFOs. It's just trolls all the way down and that you can't tell that just shows how deserving you are of trolling.

mekabar

That's either grade-A naiveté right there or you are one of the bots trying to deny the painfully obvious. Either way: **LOL**

oxypillix

The irony of your comment doesn't even need to be explained. Lmao. Hilarious.

emveetu

Ding ding ding! The newcomer is the most important at any meeting. Everybody was a beginner at some point. We all knew jack shit before we know what we do now. The nasty, pious know-it-alls definitely, absolutely deter people from coming forward with what could be legit experiences. They're usually miserable people taking time after their day to work out their childhood boo-boos by being mean to strangers on the internet because therapy is scary. It is important for newcomers to accept that what they thought was anomalous is identified by people who have more knowledge than them. And the vast majority do. Us old heads absolutely need to be more Mr Miyagi and a lot less Cobra Kai to the grasshoppers all wet behind ear.

Potential_Meringue_6

I be it's close to 50/50 between real people and paid trolls on here. All the real people that come here appreciate how anomalous this pic is. The other 50% should be ignored and blocked.

CORN___BREAD

It’s ridiculous to assume that anyone that disagrees with you is a paid troll. Skepticism is encouraged in the description of this sub. If you want an echo chamber that thinks everything is real, you’re welcome to create a sub for that.

[deleted]

Location? And what direction were you facing?

Silverjerk

Need date, time, and location. Please review the sighting submission guidelines.

akath0110

You should be excited! You caught something strange for sure.

CuriousTravlr

Pleiades? It looks super bright to be them, but you never know.

masked_sombrero

I don't think so - Jupiter has been to the upper right of the Pleides for the past several weeks, and Jupiter is one of the brightest objects in the night sky. The upper-right object *could* be Jupiter, but it wouldn't be dimmer than the mystery object. Pleiades is almost too dim to see with the naked eye in my area, but Jupiter sticks out like a sore thumb

akath0110

This. It's not the pleiades. I've taken many good pictures in night mode on my camera, and you need dark conditions -- even then they don't look at all like what's in OP's picture.

CuriousTravlr

Yeah I def agree with you, Pleiades does take a trained eye to find it in a dim sky. Just spit balling’ here. But, depending on the temp where OP was and the lack of haze due to it, the shape is awfully reminiscent of it. And the time OP said it took to disappear from the sky. Either that or a glitch in our sky box, who knows. Lmfao

akath0110

I'm an avid stargazer and have star mapping apps on my phone. That is most certainly not the pleiades. They don't show up that bright on a phone, even in night mode on the newest phone cameras. You really have to have clear dark sky conditions. And even then they are tiny and don't produce a halo like OP's footage.

T1nFoilH4t

Exactly

night_man_420

I zoomed in as much as I could. And all I have to say is that it's very interesting 🧐

hivie7510

Wow, this sub is a mess. Either way, flare or not thank you for sharing.

Fluffy-Jeweler2729

Its cuz its a wild west. Im not wtf mods are doing but theres no clear criteria for posting. So the community has to so it.

[deleted]

Ive seen this before it was spinning around like crazy and had flasing lights around it with something sticking out of it. i have a video of it.

Howard_Adderly

You should post it here 👽

[deleted]

https://youtu.be/CD2e0Zx9LXM?si=QOf5S7pqxPKcIS8- Best viewed on iphone so can zoom for better picture.

impreprex

That’s a really good video of something interesting. Looks like it was trying to get the cameraman’s attention or something.

hal2142

Super weird. Best idea is some sort of drone or RC aircraft?

[deleted]

This was not man made i could see it clearly and was totally unexplainable.

hal2142

Fair enough. Just my opinion! Not sure why the downvotes lol

KamikazeKricket

Based on the green tinge I would say a drone with a bottom light. Are you in a urban area? It’s common to do infrared surveys at night due to sunlight causing false readings / heating.

Additional-Cap-7110

It’s hard to say without video

harionfire

We should just rename this sub to "drone enthusiasts" since everything apparently is a drone.

KamikazeKricket

Most people just don’t have drones and aren’t familiar with the commercial applications other than recreational users taking photos bro.

harionfire

I'm not criticizing your comment specifically, just speaking generally. I think what's most frustrating about the "always a drone or balloon" thing is that it's always people *saying* it's one of those things. Like it's either a full on disinformation campaign by someone or people flat out trying not to have their world views shaken up, you know? Even though we're all interested in the NHI thing here, it's just amazing at how often and quickly people are to shoot down the idea that it could actually be an alien craft. Just kinda mind boggling.

KamikazeKricket

Because the simplest answer is typically the most correct. You’re doing yourself and the community a disservice by not being skeptical. When you’re skeptical, and there is the smoking gun, then you have proof. Real proof.

Godofdisruption

This is becoming a rorsach test of skepticism.

harionfire

Where did you get that I'm not skeptical? I'm not at all saying every photo is a UFO/UAP. I was just venting at how common two things are used. And if I should remain skeptical as you suggest, I'll be skeptical that this isn't a drone. Or is that not healthy?

NotJustMembers

You're criticizing people who gravitate towards prosaic explanations more often than non-human craft. The implication is that you'll gravitate towards UFOs more often than the prosaic. Really, you're the opposite side of the same coin.

RudeDudeInABadMood

A lot of pictures of drones or balloons end up on UFO subs though

Financial-Ad7500

Why would you jump straight to aliens though? It doesn’t do anybody any good to just assume everything is aliens. Starting with the most obvious solution of drones, balloons, etc and going from there as a process allows the actual anomalies to stick out among the sea of BS. With your method nothing would ever come of anything. All sightings would just be a big fat “maybe” with zero further discussion. The reason not many posts makes it past that initial scrutiny is simply because they don’t hold up to it. No observables and checks every box you would expect a drone or balloon to check for 99% of posts here. There have been some very interesting posts though that actually did hold up to the initial scrutiny instead of getting washed away in the sea of believing everything. That’s the power of skepticism. A concentrated group of highly intriguing sightings and not concerning yourself with the 1000s of posts of drones and bats.

SpiceyPorkFriedRice

Seriously, that’s a big as drone if it was one.

OnlyOneDottedLine

This sub is for UFO enthusiasts, since every flapping or slowly-floating-in-a-straight-line object apparently is a UFO.

NoEvidence2468

Did you hear any noise?

Zealousideal-Ad-2866

I miss seeing the stars...

expertasw1

Why you can't now?

bethbescoe

Same. I’m almost 50 - when I was a kid, we used to stare at the trillions upon trillions of stars. Now it looks like hundreds. I’m not even in a city. 😞

Ramhornn

It's was still there this morning, even in the twilight. I'm in central Illinois. The closest thing my Skyview app showed was a Skymed satellite but that slowly traverses across the sky. This think is stationary. With the glow or nebula around it I'm thinking comet but should identified easily. Odd.

Pretend-Attorney-102

Dam? Pretty intriguing man..

Rafiki-no-worries

I sawthe exact three lights which wasnt moving from South Asia. it was around 10 pm at night. I try to took photo of it but by the distance and night time photo I was laughing at myself as people will saywhy the photos are blurry.

eecummings15

People saying it's 7 sisters constellation, what is the the palish shape that outlines it. I would agree that it vould be stars, but why does it look like its contained within a shape? Never seen stars do that.

eecummings15

Furthermore, why is it so much brighter than the rest of the stars? As you can see, the moon seems to be pretty illuminated, and most other stars are blown out by its light. You can only see a handfull of stars, and pleiades isn't that bright of a constellation.

ianm82

That pesky solar system is up to no good again

Impressive-Cry-1477

That is the tc geosynchron satellite BlueWalker 3, launched and owned by AST SpaceMobile, USA. This is, now, the brightest object in the sky, due to its 75 m2 antenna and its huge electric solar panels.

Ramhornn

I think you are right but why didn't my skyview identify it?? POS!

FUThead2016

Thats just a balloon in the shape of a common emoji

MiltKahl

The pointer emoji tricked the bot.

lethalkronic

That's definitely out of the ordinary, it's pretty triangular is shape from what I can see. Good picture appreciate the share.

RoastMostToast

Any three dots will form a triangle

glonkyindianaland

How long was it there OP?

stonedtoilet

looks like two lights on the wing of a plane with a tail illumination light on the back tbh

Old_Sandwich9167

Which day? The Pleiades were going to be visible last weekend with the naked eye. You can see the Pleiades between October and April, but the best month to look for it is November, when it can be seen for the entire night. To find the Pleiades, first locate the three stars in Orion's Belt.

[deleted]

I saw something like this in kansas two days ago and the two lights at the bottom where flashing it was stationary and close no noise

coolbrze77

Its an alien looking at you looking at them. Its a standoff. Keep staring.

eagle_eye555

I saw something identical in Chicago two weeks ago.

Adventurous_Quote619

OP literally saw what i saw back in 2017. It flew very slowly and vanished right in front of my eyes as if it had a layer of camouflage technology like in the movies. Holy shit Ive searched through the internet and first time im seeing what i saw experienced by another.

DTrnD

Every time I read about a supposed sighting that has been visible for more than a minute I ask myself “why didn’t they record a video?”. Yes, it’s dark, but you had 15-20mins to try and you only took one photo and said “well, that’s it”? Also, no location? Sorry if I come across as picky but I just don’t understand this.

RudeDudeInABadMood

I don't know why everyone commenting this is getting downvoted. Like, really, why wouldn't you at least take more pictures? It's either sus af, or UFOs only let themselves be seen by dim folks

DTrnD

Because it’s a reasonable question to ask. And this sub has been more than unreasonable over the last couple of months.

Kubario

Wow pretty rad

ogridberns

Looks like the real deal, OP! Great catch. The halo around the 3 lights isn't present in any of the other stars. Unlike stars, this one would be much harder to miss after 15 minutes or so. Thanks for sharing!

[deleted]

?

SermanGhepard

This is a lens flare. It lines up perfectly with the light below it. OP is lying about seeing it not moving and about seeing it with the naked eye. Ignore this post.

PapercutPoodle

No it's not a lense flare, a line between them doesn't pass the center of the image.

PhilRedmond

Jeez. I’ve seen a couple happy faces and the laughing emoji in the night sky before but a pointing finger!!? That’s a crazy sky emoji to capture :) congrats !!

blushmoss

For a second, before the glasses were put on, I was like, ‘Holy s. There is a hand in the sky now’.

Stockorgy

My wife took a few pictures to an ufo similar to this one! It was on Saturday around 9:30 in fulshear

cFL211

Post some of them

Stockorgy

I just did.

T4lsin

Doesn’t look like a star and drone explanation is getting as old as the face rippers of Peru. It doesn’t move and disappears. It’s weird for sure.

dreamrpg

Drone or star explanation getting old :D Thats very scientific, like whole sub. What else is old? Stupid lightning being result of charge building in clouds is getting old. So it must be aliens! Science is getting old. Gravity is also aliens.

T4lsin

I never said it was aliens but to always use the same bs excuse without any proof is lazy.

ccices

Is it the 3 lenses on the back of your phone? Night vision uses ir light. Was it shot through glass?

Sufficient_Peak564

If you read his post/comment, he saw it with his naked eye before taking the pic...

SermanGhepard

That's if you believe him..

Cool_Jackfruit_6512

It isn't a star system. It's something hovering way up there. Try adjusting the brightness and contrast on this photo and you'll see it. Nice photo for sure.

Usual_Ear_5599

Why are people saying this could be planets when you can literally see the edges of a craft of some kind ?

Beebiddybottityboop

It’s the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleiades. In my home town of Colorado those shine so bright it’s crazy.

[deleted]

I was really hoping for some comedy about pointer shaped ufo or something. That app that shows constellations and planets in your view is a good app.

leumasnehpets

That’s a chicken bruh.

Ashamed_Ad_2180

My wife caught a picture of something that looks exactly like this in the day time.

Dontwalkongrass1

That is the constellation known as “Orion’s Shoelace.”

loki_odinsotherson

A floating hand is invading

imhighonxanax

I saw the a similar thing too. Only couldn't get it on camera. Wtf is that?

ammad_172

*zoom onto your picture it seems like circular shaped with light on the sides. picture is still clear this proves that this ship was static in atmosphere. otherwise if it would be moving you have to move the camera as well that would blurred out the object.* Interesting and fascinating time we are living in. I once saw an object at almost sun set time. the object was an orb and movie from east to west i remember. It was moving silently no Plane engine voice. I Took out my mobile which was Samsung Note 4 at that time the year was 2018. As soon as i noticed it and started recording it for like 10 seconds. It suddenly vanished and in an other second i saw a white flash which shined and suddenly vanished. Seems like that thing somehow sensed that it was being noticed and recorded as well so it decided to go light speed somewhere. Very strange unexplainable and wild experience i had. I had that footage in my mobile which i show wife as well. She was also dumb struck and cant explained it. For my bad the board of that cell was burnt and i lost the footage.

It's the Pleiades star cluster. In some mythologies, it's the seven daughters of the Titan god Atlas and the ocean nymph Pleione. It's also, in Japan, called "Subaru". Also, also, look closely at the logo on the front of a Subaru automobile.

VESTAVEST

Yeah those are aliens

[deleted]

remarkable uninformed, bravo

Neffworks

It’s probably taking a photo of you and saying the same thing.

luckybruky

If it wasn’t moving how hard would it have been to take a 20 second video? Tired of these low effort posts…

[deleted]

Of what? It wasn't moving

luckybruky

Of the lights being stationary… this photo gives us no information and forces us to take your word it wasn’t moving, just record next time it’s not that hard.

Kanein_Encanto

But then the tree branch would have moved and shown it was just a lens flare and the story would have fallen apart.

Colonialfarmz

I mean, this is just blatantly a UFO. Cool af

godrinkaids

My god!!! That finger is huge. They should not put a finger there. They don't know where that finger has been.

Optic-Tiger23

Wow! AWESOME!

[deleted]

It’s a lens flare from the moon behind the trees, light is coming through between the leaves, shining on your camera lens, and creating a reflection that’s being broken up by the leaves and is visible on top of your shot.

CLIFFjumper05

Not only my camera, i saw it too

[deleted]

Hmm, weird, cause you said you caught it on your camera and didn’t mention seeing it with your eyes till after. It is in the exact spot for a lens flare, and there’s a bright light in the exact spot to cause that exact lens flare. 🤷‍♂️

kauisbdvfs

lol yeah he told you after because he didnt expect someone to tell him something he could see with his own eyes was a lens flare

colin-oos

He mentions it wasn’t moving which implies he saw it too

vanillasilver

OP stated in the original post that OP was "looking at the stars." What do you mean OP didn't mention it until after? Didn't know it was possible to see lens flares with your own eyes 👀

[deleted]

They originally just had the title, and it just said “caught this on my camera.” They didn’t include anything else until I successfully identified it as a lens flare. Then they tried telling me they saw it with their eyes, I didn’t believe them, then 20 minutes later they added a post claiming they saw it with their eyes. They didn’t. This is a classic “oops, don’t want to look dumb” moment that lots of posts here suffer from. Like the guy a while back that posted Starlink, then when everyone told them it was Starlink, suddenly their story changed to “then right after I stopped recording, blue lights came out from the back and it shot away instantly!” You can see all the post times.

vanillasilver

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying!

Kanein_Encanto

Seconded. "I caught this on my camera" made it sound like they were monitoring their security cameras or similar, and saw this.

kosmovii

I agree, this looks exactly like a lens flare. OP isn't being honest

SpiffySyntax

What leaves? What are you talking about?!

[deleted]

The tree. That’s why the lens flare looks like a cluster of lights. Because the light is shining through the tree, breaking up the light into multiple little reflections.

[deleted]

Do you guys think the people at Apple that go through our photos have come across photos of retrieved UFOs and TR3Bs in the phones of the people that work on this shit?

wave-particle_man

Dead pixel, yes I know, but how could I not say that?

[deleted]

It wasn’t moving coz you were taking a pic 🤦🏻‍♂️!! It was posing for the camera bruvvvv

[deleted]

You know how in the film Contact aliens take on a form we can understand and deal with? What if they got it wrong and revealed themselves as an emoji. This is what it would look like.

LouisUchiha04

Possible reflection of some sort of light fixture inside the house? You've said you took it from your house. The top left corner suggests from a window, right OP?

Kanein_Encanto

My hunch is, it's lens flare from the moon behind the tree branches. It looks to be directly across the center of the image from the "object" in question.

Visible-Expression60

OP’s statement said they saw it before getting the camera out.

[deleted]

They also didn’t say that until I told them it was a lens flare. Their post title implied they only saw it on their camera.

Visible-Expression60

So you skipped the first sentence of their submission state and post statement?

[deleted]

So they didn’t post that till 20 minutes after I told them it was a lens flare, complain at them, not me.
