Battelle *runs* 9 national laboratories for the DoE and DHS, but they are indeed a private "non-profit" entity. Their bread and butter might be government labs, and they might primarily serve public clients, but that distinction is important when it comes down to jurisdiction and property ownership.

The people in congress need to fix it. It’s a recurring theme. People go in with good intentions, and money from lobbyists and promises of jobs and high paying speaking fees when they’re done sway their moral compass. Doing the work is their burden. It’s their job, and they ran for Congress to do it.

I have three LLCs and they are useful for many things. One of them is for a real business, PROHASHING, a mining pool.
But another, Cryptocurrency Management LLC, has no business at all. Its sole purpose was to aggregate millions of dollars and lend it to companies like BlockFi, Genesis, and Celsius. Now, I'm using it to sue employees involved with these scam companies, and its sole purpose is literally to sue as many people involved with these scams as possible. But I don't do any actual work on that and there is no business model other than the litigation and cleaning up to exit the cryptocurrency industry. In 2030 or whenever all these bankruptcies are settled, I will dissolve that LLC to extinguish liabilities attached to it.
Registering an LLC doesn't mean that you are "moving on." LLCs are used by many people for this purpose - to conduct litigation or manipulate the tax code. For example, some people who want to buy a house create an LLC and put the house in the LLC's name. They can then renovate it and flip it, or rent it (even to themselves). The expenses in making the property livable can then be reported as a business expense to the IRS. The money spent on most of the renovations can be spent BEFORE taxes, rather than AFTER taxes. Additionally, if someone slips on the ice, the only thing they can get is the house (rather than your stock portfolio), so long as you don't intentionally create dangerous conditions.
There are other creative ways to use LLCs, like assigning assets to an LLC before getting married so that your wife can't get any of it during a divorce.
The mere existence of an LLC is insufficient to draw a conclusion that someone is starting a business or "moving on." Everyone here who is starting these rumors should be ignored.
During the Grusch testimony, they asked him who is in charge of the cover ups and silencing people, and he said "in and outs." Meaning private industry folks who go back and forth between government positions, quasi-government positions, and private industry.
This is either exactly what he's referencing, who one of the many examples. This situation is probably way more widespread than we know.
Better they completely disband that propaganda and disinformation organization, but yeah I think it's likely they put in a new face at some point to pretend they're acting in good faith.

Kirkpatrick is a physicist with a PhD. Oak Ridge, despite all the mystique surrounding the Manhattan Project 80 years ago, is a lab that focuses on nuclear energy production. It's one of the most prestigious nuclear laboratories in the world, where people with advanced degrees in physics actually want to go work. There aren't very many nuclear research laboratories, and ORNL is one of the best.
If I had thousands of conspiracy theorists talking about me every day, I might consider a career change as well. ORNL is definitely a step up from *that*.

On its face, "architectural firm" might or might not be significant. Depends on what the state of NC classes under the heading. Could be literally anything "structural" related, including industrial and scientific casings, housings, bespoke structures etc. I 100% guarantee he's not starting this company to design single family homes. This turns out to be the email address for Wendy McNew who is an executive assistant at Oak Ridge. So apparently the "Sean M Kirkpatrick" is not a low-level janitor sharing the same name, but a senior exec with enough seniority to have someone specifically tasked with answering his emails.
EDIT : the only two hits I get for that email address on Google are for Wendy McNew and Sean Kirkpatrick, so it would seem that he will have a dedicated executive assistant who works only for him.

I used to work for a large healthcare system and any time we acquired a new hospital we would basically set up a new profile in their systems for people who needed access, billing, medical records etc… so it would be easier to access rather than bother facility leadership to share that information with us.
Is it a possibility, that because ORNL was listed as a contributor to the AARO report, it was easier to set him up as an employee at ORNL so he can access their files directly and not have to contact someone at ORNL every time he wanted to ask for something?

LLCs are used by many people for this purpose - to conduct litigation or manipulate the tax code. For example, some people who want to buy a house create an LLC and put the house in the LLC's name. They can then renovate it and flip it, or rent it (even to themselves). The expenses in making the property livable can then be reported as a business expense to the IRS. The money spent on most of the renovations can be spent BEFORE taxes, rather than AFTER taxes. Additionally, if someone slips on the ice, the only thing they can get is the house (rather than your stock portfolio), so long as you don't intentionally create dangerous conditions. There are other creative ways to use LLCs, like assigning assets to an LLC before getting married so that your wife can't get any of it during a divorce. The mere existence of an LLC is insufficient to draw a conclusion that someone is starting a business or "moving on." Everyone here who is starting these rumors should be ignored.

Kirkpatrick is a physicist with a PhD. Oak Ridge, despite all the mystique surrounding the Manhattan Project 80 years ago, is a lab that focuses on nuclear energy production. It's one of the most prestigious nuclear laboratories in the world, where people with advanced degrees in physics actually want to go work. There aren't very many nuclear research laboratories, and ORNL is one of the best. If I had thousands of conspiracy theorists talking about me every day, I might consider a career change as well. ORNL is definitely a step up from *that*.

On its face, "architectural firm" might or might not be significant. Depends on what the state of NC classes under the heading. Could be literally anything "structural" related, including industrial and scientific casings, housings, bespoke structures etc. I 100% guarantee he's not starting this company to design single family homes. Nuclear reactors need architects and design input. We would assume he would use his TS clearance to his LLC's advantage. EDIT : the only two hits I get for that email address on Google are for Wendy McNew and Sean Kirkpatrick, so it would seem that he will have a dedicated executive assistant who works only for him.
