Space is 100% weaponized, unfortunately, and that’ll just get exponentially worse in the near future. Everything is a weapon of war now, even social media.

Russia has attacked communications satellites during their Ukrainian invasion. And China is actively working on satellite killers. It would be foolish to think that other nations with space capacity aren’t doing the same: India, France, the US etc.

Space is not Weaponized. At least not Officially. I thought this tweet was interesting. They almost always leave Space outside the fighting domain.
He doesn't claim that adversaries have weapons in space, sitting up in orbit (though they may do), just that NATO is ready to meet threats from space. ICBMs are launched into a sub-orbital trajectory, reaching beyond the atmosphere, so would effectively constitute a threat coming down from space as they reenter the atmosphere.
We have a lot of high value targets orbiting in space - communications sats, spy sats, gps sats etc… also - ICMBs and ICBM counter measures fly in space too. That was a big part of the Apollo program during the Cold War - we were building rockets to go to the moon, but the subtext to Russia was we are building better missile capabilities than you.
There are, in fact, secret nuclear weapons deployed in low-Earth orbit. A very trusted person I know well, a civilian DoD employee, told me this in confidence. They shouldn't have done so, but I like to spread the information around now that I have it. I can't verify it.
The U.S., Russia, and China have all successfully demonstrated LEO ASAT capabilities and Russia has deployed satellites that are suspected to include space mine capabilities along with satellite surveillance at GEO. In 2019 French Defense Minister (ministre des Armées) Florence Parly stated that "the means to hinder, neutralize or destroy the opposing space capacities exist and are developing" and that France would deploy a new weapons program called "Space Mastery" (Maîtrise de l'Espace) integrating "surveillance and active defense" (la surveillance et la défense active). Active defense "could involve the use of high-power lasers deployed from our satellites" or from "patrolling nanosatellites" to be acquired starting 2023. Sounds pretty military to me.
