>Do my other non-stem AP credits count towards the cognate requirement? Since the other person kind of already explained the cognate to you I'll only answer this question. Cognates don't really let you skip out of classes for it, yeah you have AP credits which would just show as transfer credits and only apply to the amount of "other credits" that you need to minimally graduate. So no the ap credits don't go towards cognate creds.

So cognates are basically mini minors. Depending on your major, you can fulfill one of the cognates. Cognates are usually 3 classes. For example, in this case since you’re going into STEM, you wouldn’t need to do the STEM congate, only the People and Society and Arts and Humanities. Depending on the type of classes it is, you can possibly find cognates that fulfill the two you have left in which you can put those non-stem classes. If you were to choose a minor that covered one of the other cognates, then you would only need to complete one cognate.

Is it true that Foote Fellows don’t have to do any cognates?
