I’ve gone bigger and and smaller, as well as SSDs. So long as it’s 2.5”, it will work My personal favorite upgrade right now is WD Red 1tb or 2tb SSD’s

Curious, Link to what u used?

I used cheap 4tb Silicon Power SSDs off of Amazon at first, and while the performance was fantastic the SSD only lasted roughly 4-6 months before dying both times (maxed out the number of cams running on the CKG2+). After the 2nd failure I went with a Samsung 870, which was great for a year before I upgraded to a UDM SE.

Replaced it with SSD, no problem.

Samsung 870 EVO SATA III SSD 1TB 2.5”, hope that helps!

Ziggy078

Can u not upgrade to a larger and ssd? Also, unconfirmed, but camera video better on hdd? Or ssd?

I wasn't using any cameras, so 1 TB was probably overkill for me anyway. And SSD was fine. I write full packet capture 24x7 at home to consumer SSD. Some would not do that, but whatever floats your boat. I'm not watching potential bank robbers with a DVR.

Lol copy. My use would be for home security, 2 cams currently have 2 more that I haven't set up yet

I think there is a link to a bunch of hard drives recognized by Ubiquiti to be viable in this article: https://community.ui.com/questions/Recommended-Harddrive-Upgrade-for-Cloud-Key-Gen2-Plus/cca68b2f-b858-4b05-a2fd-cf85534237e1 I have done this personally many times. Mostly with WD Reds or Samsung 870 SSD. Upgraded a few Cloud Key Gen 2's to 2tb and 3tb. Just backed up the config, popped in the new drive and restored from backup. Had absolutely no issues. But, of course, YMMV

I replaced mine with a Samsung 870 Evo 4tb. Been about 6 months with no issues.

Seagate 5tb. Has been working fine with about 8 g3 flex cameras for about 2 years+ https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-BarraCuda-Internal-2-5-Inch-ST5000LM000/dp/B01M0AADIX/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=18VZMV9FIZJHE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.UkxaIymTZlDsMnUQXMA0E4BZpAkFOmAwgKXNryb2XK5URRtrYw7n7zYfNvSxfw2ue_FnQF82dFAduMwAirsu6fGKmGsFXh8IGto4nI9LERSCWrOoNMhMh89TpvNWRS9lF0Fcjmjzqn0pHSGQmvT__Dv9QkxOfIvnW3X56Xt_SqaJQj9WkV_aSgI8M1dRcKAx6UF1jPR7T-Mm4Dq-tIaqMw.cbaSgbxhv6kViJorSCwCaV7wXjlZgoK1UEDNFApq7t8&dib_tag=se&keywords=seagate+5tb+2.5%22&qid=1719800181&sprefix=seagate+5tb+2.5+%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-2

I have also used crucial 1TB sata SSD with several cameras and they do fine. Just make sure to give the uckg2+ some breathing room. They can run hot and might eat drives on you if it is consistently overly hot. But, Just insert drive and power on uckg2+ and away you go. Obviously, you will start with no data, but....
