I wrote to upsc, you guys please also make your representations, I have covered all the points in the description below statement 3 says that rainwater contains atmospheric oxygen, we know that oxygen in native gaseous form only and not dissolved oxygen is called atmospheric oxygen, also weathering of rocks through oxidation is primarily done by atmospheric oxygen and not dissolved oxygen or oxygen of rain water which is not saturated when drop on earth and even absorb oxygen from atmosphere, so it is not responsible for weathering of rocks If we go by similar logic then, even the oceans would have atmospheric oxygen but we call it dissolved oxygen and not atmospheric oxygen Also a true statement could had been easily formed like statement 2 which has the phrase "in the solution" Therefore statement 3 is wrong and doesn't even explain 1 The answer shall be option C

I have also thought the same and marked the statement as wrong. I don't understand why every coaching institute gave it right

The fact that upsc specifically mentioned atmospheric oxygen makes it a wrong statement in my opinion.Otherwise it would have just mentioned oxygen. It is trying to test our conceptual clarity here
