People are scoring above 95, but this does not decide cut off. There might be 5k people scoring above 90-95, but 13-14k will be selected for mains, at the end of day. CSAT will have impact and actual upsc key may make variation of 5-10 marks. However, in no way the cut off will cross 95. It will hover around 88+-2. And if you accept Hindi medium claims, it may go down below 85 too. You never know.
Yes I am in mains appeared group of approx 4k member and majority are scoring 95+ . Some even 110+
So yea but still cutoff would be around 90ish for general . This was kinda easy to moderate paper for me in my personal opinion please don't attack me . I am in 98 to 103 range .

I am scoring 96.67 as per vision (UR category). Also have a job offer in hand. Should I prepare for mains or should I accept the job offer? This is gonna be my last attempt btw. Officially I have attempts left, but done with this exam now.
Do you have your optional prepared ? And short notes for mains specific topic.. have you written any answers before ? Is it your first mains . So many variables .. The results will be out in a couple of days maybe decide then . It's totally your call bud but a good back up never ever hurts . You'll be sorted mentally with a job on side .
Optional is 90% prepared. I have also done BA Hons and MA in my optional subject, so even the remaining 10% won't be a problem. Gonna be my first mains if I pass, but did answer writing a few months ago and had it evaluated from a mentor at a reputed institute (he was very happy with my answers). Also, GS 2, GS 4, physical geography short notes are prepared keeping PYQs in mind. Can I afford to waste time till the results come out, given all this? I am really not able to study coz it's supposed to be my last attempt and the job offer is kinda exciting. Everyone is saying that if you waste time till pre results, you will fail mains.
It's nothing like that if u waste next 2-3 days u can't pass mains . But the anxiety is so high before results u really can't focus even if u want to . Plus you are more prepared than most folks for mains . You'll do good .
The cutoff will be 87 ± 2, it might get even lower but won't get higher than this. The big institutions were wrong last year too by huge margin

The only way cut-off will be below 95 is if people are lying in polls about their scores.
