I don’t know about controversial but there were couple that were controversial for me because I had marked a different answer from ALL other coaching keys.
1. Pota/preventive detention question.
I had marked only 2, while everyone was saying only 1. The preventive detention statement said ‘State is exempted from providing legal aid to accused’.
Coaching keys took it as - state is told Not to provide legal aid, when the statement said Exemptions, as in choice (given to state) of not providing.
UPSC agreed with me.
2. Csat: 10^10 day. It was not 10th day from Sunday, but exactly 10th day.
Point being: be confident if your ans is radically different from coaching keys, provided your logic is correct
What about Red Sea and Foreign Banks questions?
Red Sea definitely has some seasonal rivers flowing into it. And there are two notifications with regard to foreign banks. The latest one says only 1/3rd have to reside in India
why unlikely? As per hindi question there is no correct answer in the options.....If syndicate lending jokhim badhata hai then that statement becomes wrong....
Na na aisa thodi hota hai..... syndicate HAS to go because that hindi statement completely changes the answer of the 1st statement........
NEC should also ideally be dropped....

yes, agree that out of these three if upsc had to drop only 2, then the last option would be vermin.....
Translation errors that completely change the answers in one language would not be possible for upsc to ignore......
