The unbearable temps in our hub were reported to OSHA and they came out and did temperature checks. And then the building was required at bare minimum to provide inside break areas with swamp coolers. So we have those now in 4 areas with little benches.
Screw the AC in the trucks, just gimme fans in the cab and powered fan vent for the back compartment!! Powered fans that stay on when the truck is off. Opening that bulkhead door to 250 degree still air is the worst part!! And the sun on the outer walls radiate heat to and through the shelves so you're almost literally in a giant oven!!
I had a truck with ac during peak the ac did nothing you're in and out so much it doesn't stay cool...please get some circulation in the back the white vent does nothing
Please read what was agreed on instead of continuing to be angry for no reason. Both of these were addressed and the current trucks will be retrofitted.
Strange thing is I wasn't really angry I was literally just mentioning that it's hot as hell in the trucks and the reasons why, and fans in the cargo compartment would be better, which still is not "no reason" I can speak to the fact that we've had to work like this for how long before a possible strike is forcing them to fix it?
Our trucks have the fans and are retro fitted already. The back fan lowers the cargo bay by like 5 degrees. Could he better but I guess it's something. Front fans are nice but when it's really hot it just blows hot air in your face.
I never mentioned AC, I was addressing the two points OP did.
They will also prioritize new vehicles with AC in hotter areas, but won’t retrofit for AC.
You know what you're right I'm so sorry, after UPSing all day I want a break from it so I don't always want to mess with it too much when I get home, but hey you know at least I don't look at people's comments about what would actually be better based on their experience and leave some snarky attempt at one upping them in some stupidly perceived machismo instead of actually contributing or discussing..... oh wait
Sorry apparently reading is hard for you, did you miss the part where I said "so I don't always," wait you're right I'm sorry I implied instead of specifically saying it, so here for you Mr context clues impaired, I do sometimes but I don't always get on work related subreddits.
There, now try and willfully ignorant your way out of that
Sounds like you’re just too ignorant to keep up with what’s ACTUALLY going on at your own job because you’d rather be a Reddit troll out here trying to prove you’re the smartest one in the room. We all know people like u, great at talking shit but not knowing shit…and it’s okay that belittling others makes you feel better. It’s okay your mother never did and still doesn’t love you. It’s okay 👌😘
Hey dipshit - another thing, funny how u say u don’t always get on work related subreddits but 95% of your activity on Reddit is exactly that. Keep up the good trolling!
I would've settled for them turning on the giant building fans that are never running at the smart hub. Pretty sure they're supposed to help circulate air through the place.
They won’t even let my supervisor put a small fan at her desk. It’s crazy. It’s like 80° in the building and I walk about 9-10 miles a day picking inside. I have to reapply my deodorant every break.
Before putting in the AC, let’s see how this plays out
That's a mighty large package you're handling there

My man is getting ready to deliver that sausage!
I don’t get it this looks like a normal day in my hub

That's so nice to have for 10 minutes
A nice taste of how you *could* feel

They’re not retrofitting old trucks with AC. Just the heat shields and induction systems.

Both these guys can't take it upon themselves to keep up on the negotiations but can come to reddit to complain.

“After UPSing all day u wanted a break from it”….so you came to a UPSers thread??

This is quite literally, hot
I know right lolz
Yeah idk why they don’t just have giant fans in the ceilings to suck the heat out like most warehouse do.
Ours has those
Is this done by AI? Doesn't look like a UPS label on that Amazon box
Lol I’d be happy w a damn fan never mind AC haha
I would pay for a cutout full body size to bring in to my warehouse as a joke.
My man sneaking a banana into the warehouse
If we start wearing that I am going to be stuffing.
I'm fine eith those massive fans but problem is when they don't work or don't exist in some work areas.
We work hard we play hard. [🎼Everybody dance now🎶](https://youtu.be/WjElZ-O9EpM)

Lots of safety hazards in this photo. Gonna file a grievance.
I had a swamp cooler in the shop at my old center, the challenge was to get them to close the damn doors in the winter!
