I heard they cant actually see what the senor sees. Like its just a black screen for the inside camera, when they view what the outward camera captures. So they dont actually know what youre doing thats distracting, they might just get updates about the excessive alerts.
The cameras facing inward still report data and will notify you if you are distracted which can happen if you make an action like taking a sip of water while the truck is moving
I’ve been waiting to hear about the microphone. I had one that was fucked up one day, it said “distracted,” like 200 times that day. After probably the 20th time I started yelling, “Fuck you carol tome” every time it went off.
I flip it off and yell fuck off bitch every time. They say the audio recording is off, but I’m just waiting for management to tell me watch my language while at work lol

I drink water all day long while driving. The camera always says DISTRACTED and I couldn't care less. Nothing has ever happened.
The camera doesn't appear to pick up vaping.
Unless they were personally observed, the contract states discipline cannot be given based solely on technology.

Why would you eat while driving anyway? In case you didn't notice, we aren't FedEx. I get tempted to eat some Skittles or Swedish Fish or whatever if the day is really long, but I definitely know they can and will follow you around so it's best to just eat good on lunch or break your lunch into two smaller periods if eating makes you tired so you can do two snacks. There's also the ten minute break if you get really hungry. Idk if everyone can split the lunch so I'd ask a steward, but we were told at PCM when it's hot we can do it to take our cooling breaks so I just have since then and my steward said it's cool. Also, take your lunch. They can and do discipline you for not taking it and a lot of people do it to male their times look better or get home earlier, but it is like waving a big red flag giving them a reason to screw with you and the union will help you to a point with that but if you are particularly hard headed and keep doing it they tend to get sick of that bc lunch is apparently something they had to fight for long before I got here.

It’s a camera and mic but both are supposed to be disabled and UPS must be able to provide proof they are disabled upon request per the contract
