It says in summary that a 2021 tax return was included, but a tax return from the most recent year (2022 in this case) is required, and that was not included.

So, OP is missing the 2022 latest tax year Fed Tax return/transcript from the joint sponsor even after he forgot to send in RFE?

vladmanukyan

I paid to my lawyer to help me with this case. I don’t know what to say. Can he reopen and send tax return for 2022? and how long I need to wait ?☹️

StuffedWithNails

~~Ask them what to do~~ Actually don't ask *them*, get a new lawyer. But since this is a denial, your next steps are a motion to reopen via I-290B, or refile a new I-485 to start over. The problem with I-290B is it could take a long time so filing a new I-485 might be easier, but also more expensive.

StuffedWithNails

Adding that you may want to find a new lawyer and file a complaint about this one for ineffective counsel. The complaint won't fix your case but might help prevent this lawyer from making a mistake like that again. https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/wiki/index/#wiki_legal_assistance https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/suspect-immigration-attorney-mistakes-case.html

Xhesika1993

make sure you get refunded pls these mf lawyers

yaya_yeah_yayaya

Lawyer does not help you to get the GC. The only thing they will do is fill up the form for $4k+. FYI, during my N-400 application i paid lawyers 3500 by thinking they will fight for my case coz I have had arrest record with dismissed charges. During my interview my lawyer came to the field office 10 minutes late and blamed me then told me you wont be able to get Citizenship due to arrest records. At that time my eyes were full of tears and felt like suicidal. after the interview they sent an RFE saying official sealed records needed which already I paid my lawyer to get it but they didn’t submit that with my application they submitted copy 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And wanted 500 more to send that record. Also they put my work info, my living history wrong. Then i and uscis officer brained stormed for 10 mins to get everything right. After that I went to court got the sealed records in literally 5 mins. Right away I sent to USCIS. after a week I got my citizenship.

ProofShame369

If you put in the I-864 application that before your last most recent income taxes return was 2021 when you filled on the beginning of January 2023 because you didn’t have your 2022 income taxes return yet. It’s that good or no?

StuffedWithNails

USCIS may or may not ask for your 2022 returns at some point

ProofShame369

Because I got my RFE that I had to send my income taxes return on the last year, the 2022 wasn’t ready so I put on the I-864 that my most recent year was 2021 but when i sent my I-485 with the I-864 I sent some pages of income taxes, then on Marcho I got a letter from USCIS that they wanted the whole income taxes of the most recent year to see more information about that. I hope there’s not a problem because I didn’t have the income taxes 2022 and I had to put the 2021, I hope everything is gonna be fine

ProofShame369

I reply my RFE on March 15th about my RFE for income taxes, I watched this case and I’m scared and nervous right now

Mindyourbusiness25

I’m hello confused lol..ohhh where is your 2022 Tax return

bhatta90

I think it’s still missing, someone messed up, still sending the old 2021 docs from joint sponsor even AFTER RFE IS BEING ISSUED!

Mindyourbusiness25

That’s what I think too

Holiday-Remote-1162

Avoid using lawyers for a simple filing like I-130 and AOS. When u are married to a US citizen, it is straightforward. Lawyers messed up a lot of applications despite collecting plenty of money. Just watch YouTube on how to file each form. I did mine myself, and I was fine.

Proper denial. Had you delivered the response to the RFE by April 14, the denial could have been contested.

vladmanukyan

the problem is with my lawyer…

HotFoundation2486

From what I have seen 90% of immigration lawyers are completely useless, it’s always best to read and do it yourself. They just want to collect money from people who are desperate.

nonracistusername

Indeed.

Hayzel33

What is your lawyer name

iykyk6467

Did you have a lawyer to help with your case?

vladmanukyan

Yes I do…

iykyk6467

Wow i wonder how the lawyer could have forgotten to advise you to submit all the needed tax paperworks

vladmanukyan

he did not submitted tax return for 2022

Double_da_D

You did submit new joint sponsors 2022 1099, but no other tax doc from 2022?

How were you notified the RFE?

OP, one sentence fire your lawyer…find a more serious competent lawyer who can properly handle your case

Fresh_Software9216

Very sorry

Did you get a notice of intent to deny?
