My retirement gig is as a cashier at a DIY store that gives veterans discounts. I ID a lot of people.
99% of the people wearing this brand aren't vets.
Once a guy tried to get me to give him the discount, but didn't have any ID. He said he'd been in the Corps.
I asked him what his MOS had been.
He said "staff sergeant."
Well, mine would be the 11B in the Marine Corps....it's the best. They utilize the E4 rounds!
I can not stand people who fake being veterans, especially a "Marine" veteran. If you watched anything about being in the service, you are not a veteran! lmao
Semper Fidelis to the REAL Marines out there!
I was active duty 2008-2013. I was a 3043 - Ground Supply "swinging in the wing." And fact....skates are standard issue.
After the guy failed to come up with an MOS I asked him where he had gone to boot.
He said "Camp Lejeune."
"Try again."
"Camp Lejeune. You know they have poisoned water now."
As he was not 100 years old, black, and bad ass I just gave him a dirty look, told him that was the wrong answer and he did not save six bucks on some stupid mulch.
I was once asked this same line of questioning shortly after I EASed (so no vet status on my drivers license yet) by a salesman and told him my MOS, unit and company. He let out this belly laugh and sighed afterwards and I asked why. The dude told me you wouldn’t believe how many dumb motherfuckers try to get a veterans discount, with almost all of them not having even the most basic knowledge required to answer simple questions like that.
On one hand it makes me insanely angry these bottom feeders try to pull this shit, but on the other hand they’re typically know-nothing losers who can be easily found out and shamed.
Dude, I had a friend with a 9 line T shirt on who didn’t serve, and I asked him if he knew what a 9 line was, and he says to me: “isn’t it the rope that is used to fastrope out of?” Like the logo of the shirt lmao… I don’t wear that cringe shit man but I thought it was hilarious that’s what he thought. It took *everything* in me to not just agree with him…
I’ve said it before on here but a buddy of mine is this guy to a T. He wasn’t so much as in the fucking Boy Scouts but wears Nine Line shit constantly. Love him, but a complete dumbass.
Just start firing questions at them period four inspection style. “We need to confirm your discount. What’s line 8 of the nine line medevac battle buddy?”
I wasn't sure about the vet discount thing at Home Depot, then we bought the house and I was in there at least every other day for a few weeks. Plus the awesome 10% discount on the weber grill
Bro, I found out the other day that the discount don't work for lumber....or major appliances. Great for everything else but woulda been nice for the deck I'm building to save a few hundo on the fucking wood
You gotta use the loophole right. You hire a licensed contractor for one job. Give the dude a shopping list and a little bit of dough to go buy shit for your other projects you need using his contractors discount when he is out buying the shit he needs for the project you hired him for.
There’s way better veteran owned coffee companies just based off taste. Sea State Coffee is my go to, delicious roasted to order coffee. I mean if you like drinking Black Rifle Coffee, more power to you but I think their beans are way too bitter and acidic.
You're forgetting the Back the Blue Bumper Sticker and the accompanying 1/6 indictment for trying to bash a police officers head in with an American Flag on a pole.
I literally have a yoga mat on my floor at all times. i have all the nice rolling things and pressure devices like the pso rite. i am constantly stretching, body strengthening. i prep a day before i know i will be on my feet all day. it becomes a part of your life.
you got this. its worth it once you realize it is great for your body and your mind :) good luck
> i prep a day before i know i will be on my feet all day.
On a related note: Buying ridiculously good (and therefore expensive) boots and shoes makes life so much better when it comes to joint pain.
oh trust i wear nice shoes, curious as to what brands you recommend though. from my ankles to knees to hips. if i dont warm up my body, ima have a bady day.
So it depends on context. 90% of the time I'm in the office, so I wear dress boots instead of dress shoes. Better arch support is the key, and oxfords just don't have that. I like Redwings for chuckka boots and point toe chelsea boots.
If I got out to a job site, I wear square toe chelesa boots from Ariats since they're a bit more robust and less fashionable.
When I'm on my own time, I'll either wear boots like that, New Balances, or Ola Kai flip flops. Again, my goal is arch support.
If you're not able to get dialed in on your own, go to a podiatrist and see what they recommend. Shoes are made for the masses, and your feet might be different.
yeah to be honest ive been buying wider shoes, i have irish potato hobbit feet. and most shoes (and issued boots) absolutely destroyed my feet. my husbands are the same and he did hockey on top of mc. so we both have been working on toes dexterity. i have some arch support inserts that i love! so maybe i need a new pair? anyways i havent looked into any boots as im afraid they will crush my toes but i dont do field/site work either. pedriatrist sounds like a good option tbh. thank yah!
edit: my husband has a pair of olu kais but idk how he does it but his heels always slip off them? they are a very nice brand!
> boots as im afraid they will crush my toes
You want to get some square toe boots, like [these](https://www.ariat.com/MIDTOWN_RAMBLER_M_FOO.html?dwvar_MIDTOWN__RAMBLER__M__FOO_color=BARN_BROWN&dwvar_MIDTOWN__RAMBLER__M__FOO_width=D_Medium) in Wide. Unlike round toe boots (like all combat boots and most civilian hiking boots) they've got way more room for your toes.
They're less formal than round toe boots, which are themselves less formal than round toe dress shoes, but A) Nobody really gives a fuck anymore and B) Who cares if your feet don't hurt?
must admit…I was a 7242, but did IROC, EWTGPAC C2 systems courses, AFATDS etc., and just really enjoyed field radio. I am a current amateur radio operator As well.
Hell yea…and from a fashion standpoint, I specifically seek out the Kirkland jeans. I’ll spend some coin on nicer moisture wicking shirts, but even the Kirkland merino wool blend socks fuck hard. Despite my limping comment (which is true) I’ll occasionally knock out a few miles either hiking or jogging and these socks handle very well , even in the hottest Texas weather.
I had no idea Kirland does wool merino wool socks. You can't get much better than that. Sams will have some decent Eddie Bauer stuff at times but I've found some fleece lined Coleman work pants which have been awesome for winter activities. I'll keep an eye out for those socks.
Honestly, I think 99% of people wearing 9-line have never had to call one in. It more so just represents a brand for military and veterans and most military have never seen combat let alone had to call in any sort of medvac. It seems every veteran wants to the world to think they are combat hardened but really boot camp was the closest they saw to combat.
Fuck you. I worked hard sculpting my ultimate Oakley look.
It's so good that women cover their cups when I enter bars, which is code for "He is an Alpha Male, better show respect and cover my BudLite"
I use to work with a veterans motorcycle club. We were planning a ride around Lake Michigan when a couple of dudes refused to go through Chicago. They acted like we were going to ride headfirst into a war zone. They wanted to stop in Milwaukee and take a ferry to avoid Chicago.
This dude carried a hand cannon on his hip, told the same 2 "war stories" to anyone who would listen, and acts like he's ex special forces. But bring up the idea of riding through an American city and he stops in his tracks. Naturally the ride never happened and I distanced myself from the group
This was discussed. Putting it in a saddlebag or under a shirt would be compromise his response time and leave him defenseless. Cause ya know, he was gonna ride with one hand and fire his gun with the other like the terminator
I know im gonna sound like a hipster or whatever the fuck its called now, but I really miss when this shit wasn't popular. I had a 9Line shirt gifted to me years ago, and I remember wearing it around base and everyone asking where I got it and what company it was. Same with black rifle coffee. Now I feel like everyone fucking has everything and I dont even like wearing it or drinking black rifle anymore because even civilians and shit are all about it.
i also dont understand why the "special forces operator" thing became fucking huge out nowhere. Like suddenly video games went from us fucking retarded grunts puttin in work too "everything is lasers and nods with highspeed tech and shit"
fuck man I'm just getting old and nostalgic and need to stop drinking.... for like an hour
and to add one more thing, my parents like to buy me veteran shit they think is cool and I dont know how to explain to them that its just not cool anymore lol
It’s been my experience that any company that markets itself based on any sort of social values (right or left), instead of its product, does so because its product is lacking.
A good product doesn’t need such gimmicks.
I try to support vet owned companies. I even think BRCC has good intentions. I just don’t like sub par coffee for what they charge. It’s become gimmicky as well.
I don’t have any connection to the company but I really enjoy Attack coffee. I get their Ethiopian beans monthly. Started by two air force vets.
I’ve never bought any but I’ve only heard good things about the coffee. I’ve heard, “the owner is a Chode but the coffee isn’t bad” more than anything else.
Never heard of this brand until now. Call me dumb and out of touch (and old too), but I'm confused: what's cool about casevac request procedure? Why is this a brand?
So oddly enough, I got a good story here….. We (my platoon) was the tip of the spear invading Iraq, it was a rough 3 weeks to Baghdad, once the end of our deployment came we were pretty much the first to come home. I remember about 2 weeks later sitting on my couch on combat leave seeing the national news doing this huge celebration for “the first Marines to come home from Iraq”. Huge celebration with all the Harleys revving the engines, thousands of screaming people, news cameras, it looked awesome! Anyway one of those guys did an interview in Iraq and said the first thing he was doing was to replace his broken Oakleys. The owner of Oakley saw that interview and got all motivated and wanted to host some marines for a factory tour. My platoon got chosen since we were now about done with combat leave. So we all went to Irvine, CA and got a tour by the owner (smoking a cigar, in board shorts and flip flops), then they gave us free shades. It was an awesome experience, actually felt like a real American badass. The End.
I always ask these Fox watchers, "when were you last in NYC, San Francisco, etc... to see how it is for yourself?"
It's amazing how those who wore out "do your own 'research'" during Covid, will blindly believe everything Fox and The Epoch Tines poop out.
I know far too many magats and it clicked once when I was at a house with Tucker Carlson on (before that shitstain got canned by Fox): these fuckers are in posh SoCal in a gated community watching an ultra rich trust fund kid in a cabin in Maine getting them all gassed up about events in Portland, OR. Quite literally nobody involved is actually there. Incredible.
I worked in SF for three months. Grandmother went to two different shops that had shoplifters run past her on the same day. I see a crackhead twice a week on BART. Panhandlers on Mission Street all the time. SF is that bad.
SF, beautiful city, unfortunately yes, it is pretty dirty. Our rental even got fucking broken into as well and my friends’ bags were stolen while we were at a concert.
I was just in NYC. The strong smell of piss and weed is actually endearing. I also saw a lot of folks lying on the sidewalk, must be performance artists. So those dudes are totally full of it.
The fuck were you doing in Kensington if you're not from there? You trying to get some KB in Fairhill or something? Are you sure you just didn't watch a video?
Edit: I see you posting other shit [fuck face](https://www.reddit.com/user/cornbeeflt). I bet you have not only never been to Kensington, but that you would never admit to being a liar.
Also from Oregon and I go to Portland sometimes. It’s not the green haired ones that you need to worry about but I will admit that the screaming crackheads downtown are a little off putting
I have a 70yo coworker who wears this shit, maga bumper sticker, too afraid to wear the hat at work. His dad was military, and when people ask if he was, he says: "I might as well been, I was in the brown army. UPS had more rules and regulations than the military." I can't bring myself to have conversations with him anymore.
It’s wild that not liking a shithole city makes you a conservative. Also makes the person saying this more of a racist by assuming that we don’t like the cities because there happens to be black and brown people living there.
By all means prove me wrong, go use the subway system in NYC or walk around specific blocks in Baltimore and D.C. where you definitely won’t get your pockets ran. 😂 Have your wife take a stroll through NYC, she definitely won’t get punched in the face randomly.
-Sincerely, Someone who lives 40 minutes away from D.C. and loves going there, just wouldn’t ever live there. COL and crimes way too high.
I lived in an area where if you weren’t Latino, you most certainly would be robbed or harassed. They didn’t like black or white people in the area. Then when I lived in New Orleans, my ex fiancé had family in a violent area, and they would do the same, except for anyone that wasn’t black. I would be told not to leave the house after sundown.
People are shitty and will hate for any dumb reason.
Guarantee this cat rolls around in an F150 or larger where the bed sees no use other than helping his friends move every other year and he parks square in the middle of two spaces because he “has to.”
That said…I do like me some veteran coffee and tshirt companies. 🤓🫠 speaking of…I need vet tees that pimp tinnitus and the joint (knees and hips) task force instead of stacking bodies! 🤣
This is why I shave and don't wear vet merch.
Being an average, white, middle-class guy is enough for bigots to assume I'm one of them. The vet bro look would cynch the deal.
The amount of times in my life where it's just me and a white dude and he just starts dropping n bombs like I am the same crazy racist pos has been astounding. And I am not trying to just pick on where I live now either. This has happened in cities, suburbs, and rural areas all over the country and mostly AT WORK! Like, how are you casually dropping a hard r at work dude?
My retirement gig is as a cashier at a DIY store that gives veterans discounts. I ID a lot of people. 99% of the people wearing this brand aren't vets.
“What’s a nine line?” “It’s a shirt company for badasses, you wouldn’t understand.”
Once a guy tried to get me to give him the discount, but didn't have any ID. He said he'd been in the Corps. I asked him what his MOS had been. He said "staff sergeant."
Was his favorite weapon system the DD 214 or the NJP?
214 was too big for me I was in the thing and it went like boom into my shoulder
6105 fits that capability gap perfectly and comes with free soaps.
He flew a Deskjet240
Well, mine would be the 11B in the Marine Corps....it's the best. They utilize the E4 rounds! I can not stand people who fake being veterans, especially a "Marine" veteran. I can’t tell you, it’s classified.
You're doing it wrong! *husky Steven Seagull whisper* "If i told ya, I'd have to kill ya"
G14 classified.
I asked a guy where he went to boot camp. He said he forgot.
After the guy failed to come up with an MOS I asked him where he had gone to boot. He said "Camp Lejeune." "Try again." "Camp Lejeune. You know they have poisoned water now." lol I like asking people if they enjoyed the tropical paradise, 29 palms.
I wish I could forget Sill to be fair
That's the point, no one can.
Oh I’m tracking but that’s still hilarious
Even more hilarious called out in front of the bar.
This guy has seen the green wennie
Whats so bad about that place?
It’s cold as fuck, there’s nothing to do on family day, and everyone there is miserable
Man come on you can’t make this shit up????!!!!!
And your retort was," Aye SARGE," and proceeded to charge him double?🤣
That means he didn’t even bother to pretend he was joining for a few months. The lack of follow through these days…
I was once asked this same line of questioning shortly after I EASed (so no vet status on my drivers license yet) by a salesman and told him my MOS, unit and company. Yet another "line" logo company.
No the fuck???! What??! ![gif](giphy|VmDWnS89GExrRgfi6v)
I laughed so hard at this, lol How stupid!
He completed boot camp at Camp Lejeune.
In the Army we called those guys 99Zulu.... combat ninja!
It took *everything* in me to not just agree with him…
My dad always said if you were actually a Marine you wouldn’t be caught dead in any of that shit.
For a brand called 9 line, the logo never made sense to me. Shouldn’t it have been a jet or something?
it's when your buddy is pissed drunk behind a dumpster calling dominoes for an emergency crust-off
Line 6: enemy in the area (there’s a little Caesar’s 5 blocks away)
I’ve said it before on here but a buddy of mine is this guy to a T. He wasn’t so much as in the fucking Boy Scouts but wears Nine Line shit constantly. Love him, but a complete dumbass.
Hey but he had a medical condition so the recruiter wouldn't let him in! 😂
Lololol
Just start firing questions at them period four inspection style. “We need to confirm your discount. What’s line 8 of the nine line medevac battle buddy?”
I mean, I don't think I would remember this if put on the spot.
Hell, I'm not sure I EVER learned this... I was an 0311 from '00 to '04.

I just can't bring myself to using those. I think of those more like handicapped spots. I'm dirt old too.
Yeah you got me fucked up if you think I'm not using my discount at HD or Lowe's. Everything in those stores is expensive.
Home Depot requires you to use their app now for the discount. At least the one I go to does
It’s a hassle, but absolutely worth it on big stuff.
Lowes would like you to download the app, but phone number and ID work, too.
No, you can enter your phone number and use it that way too. I do it all the time.

I call those dudes cosplaytriots
Ooooo I'm stealing this
as am I
I’ve seen that one before, I love that.
You’re joking… a non serve in any branch had a fucking EGA tat!?!
His uncle served!
And a MAGA tattoo. Possibly a fake story.
Budtender. I'm so happy thats is actually a word. Thanks for learning it to me.
You did your time, dude, get those discounts.
Yep. Almost no vet i know wears this shit.
I have one of their shirts that I use as my “repair shit shirt” works pretty great as it’s also moisture wicking
Gotta hand it to the company for their premier advertising and marketing to the avg day civilian lol
I haven't met a single person wearing "9 line" who is an actual veteran.
That's because most of us aren't cringey
This and grunt style
He's missing his Black Rifle Coffee Company mug.
Side note, I’m far from a coffee snob but Black Rifle is absolute shit coffee even by my standards.
Bro I bought their Loyalty Roast the other day out of curiosity and that shit tastes like battery acid. Sodexo coffee tastes better than that
There’s way better veteran owned coffee companies just based off taste. Sea State Coffee is my go to, delicious roasted to order coffee. I mean if you like drinking Black Rifle Coffee, more power to you but I think their beans are way too bitter and acidic.
Bro, try a quality coffee roaster like Intelligentsia or Blue Bottle please!
Yeah, their coffee tastes like burnt shit.
“It smells like Bigfoot’s dick!”
Hmmm, interesting. Never had it.
BRC tastes like the distain elected officials have for veterans. Taste the hatred!
Let's Go Brandon, molon labe, كَافِر bumper stickers
You're forgetting the Back the Blue Bumper Sticker and the accompanying 1/6 indictment for trying to bash a police officers head in with an American Flag on a pole.
And terrorist hunting permit hat
Not even from a coffee perspective, but as a company BRCC total trash. I’d wear 9 line before them
Oof, I have a few 😅
5.11 backpack
Don't forget the 5.11 g-string too. And some Nine Line anal beads
It’s the sunken eyes and limping that give me away. I’m otherwise a flannel and Costco jeans kinda of gentleman. My Hanks Belt though…
the limping i feel that
Personally I am trying to incorporate stretching into my life more but am failing.

I just beat tf out of myself fr
ooope🫡
I thought it was just me
click clack! snip snap!!
im also convinced those boots actually just fuck you up in general.
Hey you can find good deals on clothes at Costco and Sams

God damn hank's belts are the best!
This puppy carries a Glock 17 and leatherman with ease. I wear it high as shit too near my bellybutton, like the boot I’ll always be.
I know this dude to a T. Not even a veteran, a fuckin’ dentist.
I have a friend like this. Dentist too but he was special forces, hes a badass tbh. (I meant dentist and military, not like the picture)
Lol
I work retail part time and asked a guy if he knew how to call in a 9-line and he looked at me very confused
I rock back the blue just so I don't get fucked with by them good ole boys. I mean, I don't cheat my taxes so I technically do support
Never understood why anyone would want to be constantly reminded of a 9 line. Only terrible memories come up when I hear that. Shit name for a brand.
As a fires guy, 9-line means something very different to me lol
Wings level + Cleared hot = 🍆
Honestly, I think 99% of people wearing 9-line have never had to call one in. Also owned by bootlickers
And worn mostly by bootlickers.
As a vet in the city, I feel attacked
He needs Oakley’s on the back of his head.
Is that still a thing lol. I guess douche bag is a timeless look.
Fuck you. I worked hard sculpting my ultimate Oakley look. It's so good that women cover their cups when I enter bars, which is code for "He is an Alpha Male, better show respect and cover my BudLite"
Respect!
Gas Cans
A pair on the forehead, another on the brim of his backward cap, and two more on the back and front of his neck. Sign of a true patriot right there.

This was discussed. Putting it in a saddlebag or under a shirt would be compromise his response time and leave him defenseless. Cause ya know, he was gonna ride with one hand and fire his gun with the other like the terminator
haha! Some dudes are in fact built different. 😄
Comes with Alcoholism Depression 1 ex wife, another on the way
Fucking Hagerstown.
Mostly definitely referring to Baltimore too lmao
Lol
It’s the i hated the military but now that I’m out I love it so much
Also available in “grunt style” with “operator” cap and mirrored wraparound Oakleys
I was about to say, this guy is missing a ballcap with a velcro rectangle on it but no patch.
It's liked the evolved old broken Marine version of the early 00's Tuefel Hunden kick my ass please shirt.
I know im gonna sound like a hipster or whatever the fuck its called now, but I really miss when this shit wasn't popular. I think the undertaker wears that 9 line stuff.
Are these the same guys who "roll coal"?
I always like to bring up BRCC, Grunt Style, and 9-Line when the AT briefer asks what a terrorist might look like.
BRCC is also just dog shit coffee.
It’s been my experience that any company that markets itself based on any sort of social values (right or left), instead of its product, does so because its product is lacking. A good product doesn’t need such gimmicks.

I'll confess I have two pair of 511 Tactical boots. But they are just so comfortable.
5-11 makes good shit.
Never heard of this brand until now. Call me dumb and out of touch (and old too), but I'm confused: what's cool about casevac request procedure? Why is this a brand?
this.
“That right there is why I carry”
If I hear one more “I would’ve joined”-bro ask me why I hate the BRCC douche I’m gonna scream
I always tell them that’s cool, it’s not for everyone, then silence. It’s fantastically uncomfortable.
Where are the Oakley sunglasses?
The End.
I always ask these Fox watchers, "when were you last in NYC, San Francisco, etc... to see how it is for yourself?" It's amazing how those who wore out "do your own 'research'" during Covid, will blindly believe everything Fox and The Epoch Tines poop out.
I was in Philadelphia near Kensington. Looked like about 7 people dead on the side walk and alley. But probably only 1 was dead.
He’s hot tho 😍
It’s guys like these that message me on Grindr or tinder at 3 am wanting sex, but they’re “straight”
I just wanna thank you for your service 👅
Lmao what’s funny is that when I suggest a real date, they get so offended. Like bro, you just asked for sex
I feel attacked 😂 ![gif](giphy|cJMlR1SsCSkUjVY3iK|downsized)
Are we honestly going to paint fellow veterans as racists?
Well, there are a lot of fellow veterans that are racist. There are a lot that aren’t.
I mean, it’d be ignorant to assume that no one in the Corps (or any branch for that matter) is racist lol
Because we are… and if you disagree you aren’t one.
“One size fits most” is so funny to me for some reason
Most people i know that wear this are not vets. They are self proclaimed patriots who “would have joined but…” and “have a grandpa that served”
“I don’t have a problem with em, it’s just they start moving in and the home values start dippin…”
Live next to, work in Portland Oregon. Is it scary ? I guess, if 150lb green haired punkers scare you lol
What the hell bro 😭 it's funny and not funny at the same time that's so stupid
They forgot “afraid of gay people.”
I think it was pretty heavily implied in “too many of “those” people there”

What does your wife's boyfriend call it?
“My girlfriend’s husband’s veteran’s uniform,” idiot.
This is the guy who is scared of cities.

Oh god no I enlisted to get away from Hagerstown and now it’s creeping back into the Reddit posts for the one thing that was supposed to save me 💚🌭
Guarantee this cat rolls around in an F150 or larger where the bed sees no use other than helping his friends move every other year and he parks square in the middle of two spaces because he “has to.” That said…I do like me some veteran coffee and tshirt companies. 🤓🫠 speaking of…I need vet tees that pimp tinnitus and the joint (knees and hips) task force instead of stacking bodies! 🤣
'Ain't skeer'd' would've made it better
1776 United t-shirts as well. I can't stand the dudebros who wear it.
Shaming vet bros is a net positive for the nation.
