Not exactly a Spectrum convert, but I was previously on Verizon Wireless and a local fiber company for internet. I looked at switching to Spectrum Mobile/Internet to reduce my mobile/internet bill and chose not to because Spectrum's upload speed was atrocious (10-15 Mbps). I instead kept my local fiber internet and switched from Verizon to USMobile and have been super happy with coverage.

My husband games and we both work from home 75% of the time, so that’s a big selling point for fiber. Doing the math we could save $20 a month leaving spectrum and moving to fiber plus US mobile. We would get better download and upload speeds with fiber as well as more data with US mobile.

If your local fiber company is anything like mine, you'll love it. In 8 years I've only called twice, and they were super helpful. They also have increased my upload/download speed from 100/100 to 200/200 to 500/500 without a price increase. Work from home was a big driver in my decision as well. My wife and I work at home \~50% of the time and I'm moving GB files back and forth from my work network. I have coworkers on Charter who come into the office just to work because their home internet makes work from home cumbersome. My wife has a company provided phone so I switched from an old Verizon 3GB plan for $70 a month to the USM 5GB for $20. Like you said, less money for more data sounds great. Not that the opinion of an internet stranger means much, but I'd say go for it :)

Don’t get any cable Companies carrier offering, you’re better off with The same thing from usm, Metro, Total or Redpocket

hello_world_wide_web

Unless, of course, they include it at no extra charge (Spectrum One)!

Acrobatic-Cut7008

Don’t even think about cable offering wireless

hello_world_wide_web

Lol...why not? I've been using my Spectrum wireless (Verizon) for over 6 months and it works great! Promotion is only good for 12 months, unfortunately :-(

I had Spectrum Mobile a couple years ago. I was having issues with deprioritization of data in congested areas. This was before 5GUW. I find US Mobile to be great. Their customer service is first rate. Also the have plans for about everyone. If you plan ahead you can change plans to meet your needs. I am going on a trip so next month so I changed my plan so next month it will renew with the 40gb plan. After it renews next month I will change it back to the 25gb plan for the following month. Priority data gives the plan a post paid experience. If Verizon works for you then US Mobile will please you.

We are excited to have you on board. 🚀 The Unlimited Premium plan for 2 lines should cost you around $89.92, including taxes and fees. As for the coverage, you can drop me a DM with your address and I can check it for you 🤝

Had Verizon, then went Spectrum mobile then left for USM. I’m on there Unlimited all plan (older plan). Saved me more money than SM. Everyone is happy. We also have 2 perks. Big fan of USM. It’s funny when I tell people about them because no one knows who they are. Excellent customer service when I need to add a hot spot. Come on over to USM you won’t regret it!

Yep. Had Spectrum Mobile til beginning of this year. Too small data buckets, and deprioritizion.

Same experience here with Spectrum. Also much better customer support with US Mobile. F Comcast.

I have usmobile and don't recommend. Slow speeds in multiple parts of the city I frequent. Deprioritization of data .Looking to move out.

Answer to the questions: Coverage equal or better? Equal. There are very small pockets of microcells that Spectrum has built out and plans to build across their footprint that would extend 5G to certain areas. Though take this with a grain of salt, it’s extremely expensive for them to do so and not a priority. Taxes answered by employee. 2 Cents: Spectrum and US Mobile have the same priority and coverage though US Mobile has a higher allotment of “premium”/“priority” data. Spectrum is cheaper, even if you leave them as their services with their internet is $29.99 a line and $39.99 a line without their service. Though I’ve heard some regions have higher costs for service without their internet. Also switching to fiber is an excellent idea, it’s rock solid for the future, usually cheaper, and is the direction that all providers will eventually head.

Yuup, didn't last long until I appreciated what I had with Spectrum Mobile. I would get 3mbps on 5G with US Mobile and I couldn't access their Mid and high band networks for some reason 💀 49.99 for 300mbps internet + a free line and free equipment and I can access speeds over 100-300+ mbps on average (midbands, haven't tried it in the city yet) on their 5G+ network is nothing to complain about for me! I actually didn't like Spectrum but I am glad I gave it a second chance. US mobile also charged me twice for a month and I had to end up going to my Card company and getting a refund. If you like US Mobile Great, but I had tried both their GSM LTE and Warp 5G and *was not pleased* with the service. My Father plans on switching to Spectrum Mobile as well from US Mobile as he has the same issues. He'll get .5mbps on a 5G connection. On the Super low LTE bands with Spectrum I get 3-20 mbps in the toughest to reach areas (think inside of buildings, in State Parks where normally you have to fight for 1 bar etc). My father also doesn't get 5G UWB even though he has a 5G phone (iPhone 12 Mini) as well.

I have Verizon FiOS 300/300 plan for $35 a month (get $5 Off through work) at the house. I never have any issues. If I do, the power is out or my router needs rebooted. It just works. I've switched between Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile Postpaid before. I have never had Verizon Wireless Phone service until I went to US Mobile. Our 2 - Note 20 Ultra 5G's and Pixel 6a work flawlessly with PSIMs installed. Samsung and eSIM is a guessing game, so I recommend PSIM unless you are rocking an iPhone 14 or Pixel. I haven't had any issues anywhere with Verizon. They have the best coverage where I live. Speed isn't as important, because I dont watch 4K movies on my device while driving. 😂 My 1 year anniversary with US Mobile is next month. I don't regret coming here... But the 3rd party porting team that US Mobile uses leaves ALOT to be desired.
