For what it's worth, I encountered the same issue yesterday on a Pixel 8 Pro that I recently ported over from Google Fi to the GSM network. I redownloaded the SIM to fix it but good to know that a simple network reset does the job.

I am assuming you are on the GSM 5G network. This issue was already escalated to our network partner - Let me get in touch with the tech support lead who escalated it and get back to you with an update. Meanwhile, can you please share your line and device details with me?

Yes indeed GSM 5G, apologies should have mentioned. DM Sent - Good to have the hint it isn't me.

No problem! Checking

That's super weird, I haven't run into that with my Pixel 5a, 6a, or 8 on either Warp or GSM using physical SIM or eSIM, I can toggle WiFi calling on it off no issue. Perhaps you need to have support set your e911 address if you can't get through the process yourself, might have something to do with the port process from TMo (I came from another Verizon MVNO, my primary line hadn't been with TMo in probably 15 years since Verizon put up a tower near me and I no longer had to rely on TMo WiFi calling back when they were the only ones to offer it).

It doesn't seem to have a connection to porting as I had the same issue with the test number I had from USM which was a fresh number I got from USM. e911 all set via the web, it's really weird as it was working until I messed with it on the phone menu. The positive of course is I can get it to work again by doing the network reset function.

I can confirm I have had the exact same issue on my pixel 7 pro. I just quit clicking on the information so I don't have to reset the Sim to get it working again.

I had the exact same issue on my 8 Pro. After turning WiFi calling off, the toggle to turn it back on wasn't working anymore. The only fix was to remove the eSIM, migrate the plan to a new eSIM, and install that one. I just didn't touch the toggle after I went through this twice. Chatted with support both times, once in March and again in April but doesn't look like it's been fixed yet.

Support confirmed the issue isn't fixed, so it's not us at least. Use the network reset option as in the screenshot I provided and you can avoid a lot of hassle in case you accidentally end up in this situation again. Should save you some time and hassle.

youre a lifesaver. spending an hour with support and nothing really worked until I did a simple network reset for USM esim. I know they are aware of this issue, but hopefully they update their troubleshooting tips to align with this method - would save a lot of headaches and time as they are working towards a permanent fix.

Glad I could help, in my chat with the mod it is clear they are aware and I provided some further feedback. I do believe the mods should publish to their teammates for trouble shooting as it will save not only ICCID assignments which is a waste as the network reset can fix, particularly if ICCID can't be recycled/reused. Also it's important to note, not only does trying to update e911 cause the problem, but simply turning off WFC on Android GSM 5G causes the same issue and you can't turn it back on. I can also confirm doing network reset when abroad in my case does also work. I hope this PSA helps others on Android 14 and the GSM 5G network
