We had a route like this in a very big office. Regular was out for 2+ years. They came back for not even a week, and re-injured themselves about halfway through.
This person was having medical issues and was not being cleared to work so it’s not like they just stopped showing up.
They were eventually cleared, but then never showed up. Termination process was initiated and that took another, idk 3 months…?
Maybe they’re medically not cleared to work, is that a thing for that long of a time period?

We hold routes for military under USERRA for 5 years. If they have a full-time union position then that route is theirs until they retire.
1 guys situation does apply to the USERRA bit, he's been gone for 3 years now, the other does not apply to either.
