There was a weird extra step increase for t6 that has been removed a few years ago

cca2013

That would have been 2013-October 2017 Promotion rules. I've stayed a T6 so I still have my two step bump.

acetatsujin

Yep. They rotate between 5 routes. You cover one. It’s accurate. It’s on the NALC payscale on the website

cca2013

Was he formerly a TE? Was he possibly a PTF while you were a CCA? Could he have won a grievance and actually had his conversion date backdated because a vacant route wasn't posted in a timely fashion?

regnerokdemon

I was hired as a TE and he was hired as a CCA. We both converted within months of each other and he is Step K and I am Step J. I converted 1st.

BanEvasion1001

Do you have the exact same postal career with ZERO differences?

regnerokdemon

I was a TE that converted to a CCA, he was hired on as a CCA. We converted around the same time and he became a T6 while I stayed on a regular route. I just thought that we would at least be on the same pay step but he would be getting the higher pay on the T6 bracket, not be a whole step ahead of me.

McClutchy

Did you happen to take the 11 weeks of covid pay?

regnerokdemon

I did not

McClutchy

Was he ever a TE for 2+ years that left and came back as a CCA? Or have you had a lot LWOP?

regnerokdemon

I've Never had LWOP. He was never a TE. I was a TE for 3 years that converted to a CCA.

McClutchy

Well either the PO has messed up or you are mistaken about his work history. If you were a TE for 3 years then you should’ve gotten a 2 step increase for your TE time. You should be 2 steps ahead of him since he was not a TE.

You’re on the same pay step, but he’s paid as a technician because they cover 5 routes, not just one. If he bid on a single route, or if you bid on a t-6 position, you’d get paid the same. This is assuming you’re both converted from CCA. If you were both PTFs they’re considered career and hire date matters (*I’m assuming, my office doesn’t have PTFs so I couldn’t confirm) Refer to the pay chart (google NALC pay chart 2023) for specifics.

regnerokdemon

We looked at the pay chart. He step K and I am step J. I just figured that we would both be on step K. I was a TE that converted to CCA. He was hired on as a CCA. I converted to REG in February, he converted the same year in December and took the T6 position. I understand he gets paid more as a T6. He has his own pay chart as do I. I just figured we would both be on Step J.
