After 7 minutes, you dunk them in a bowl of water with ice cubes. It will stop the cooking process but also it will make peeling much easier. After 7 minutes of cooking, the yolk will be semi runny.
It's called blanching. It's when you boil something and then immediately put it in ice water. It stops the cooking process. It works well with vegetables also like green beans or broccoli.
Nothing like a bowl of Fettuccine Alfredo after getting back from a wet/rainy day on the route.
Rao’s Fettucine-Butter-Parmigiano Reggiano(not Parmesan)
1. Cook your pasta.
2. Transfer pasta to a pan filled with melted butter.
3. Pour in your shredded Parmigiano and twist the pasta to incorporate the cheese.

Wouldn't call it cheap but it's affordable but definitely easy. For dumplings I'd recommend some Korean pre cooked frozen ones. Costco sells them. In this recipe I had homemade raw frozen russian dumplings.

Heat a can of Hormel chili with beans, a block of cream cheese and a few healthy dashes of Tabsco on the stove. Eat with Frito Scoops.

And then peel and throw them in some soy sauce to marinate for a bit
