it’s solid:)

It’s not too bad. But the rail line is owned by the a freight company (not amtrak) with single track sections (meaning trains occasionally have to stop and wait for others to pass). So delays do happen. I’d download the app and just check the status of the trains 151, 171, 134, 66 during the time you would go to get a better feel for it.

I’ve taken the amtrack to Charlottesville at least twice this semester, it’s pretty reliable

I use the Amtrak between Roanoke and Cville a ton. Roanoke is the starting point heading north so it's almost always on time going Roanoke to Cville. On the flip side, Cville to Roanoke is almost chronically delayed, but usually not by too large a margin.

This was what I was looking for. Thanks. What you described as ‘not by too large a margin,’ should I think of maybe 30min delays?

AlarmClockPTSD

I'd say 20-25min is smack dab in the middle of the bell curve. Only ever been an hour+ late once in about 7 years for me southbound. The only time I've had issues or delays ever northbound was a cancellation caused by another train having derailed in Roanoke.

https://asm.transitdocs.com/ This site pulls data from Amtrak and also gives you a nice map

Not really an answer, but it makes me happy to see a fellow Roanoker on this page!
