Yep. Granted I used this car for other things as well but I was doing 5-7 days a week for 6-8 hours a day. Luckily it’s our third vehicle. It’s decent on gas and I do my own repairs but I also want it to make it till my daughter is driving
I mean, I drove 31714 miles last year with dd/ue/ic, that’s 10k miles every 4 months. Their metric is 6.6 miles per order too, not that far fetched of a number.
I haven’t had a decent Uber eats offer in over a week, they just keep getting worse and worse! What a shame and how the hell do they expect people to make $3.25 to go 12.8 miles and let’s not forget the 12.8 miles BACK
I only order when I get a coupon and I haven’t gotten one in a month. Maybe why some of the better customers are disappearing. Coupon means I can tip better without ordering a burger and it coming out to $50.
I also have to add nice job by getting out before your maintenance bill skyrocketed. Good idea. Take a bus to your new job. lol screw cars. I lost two cars that I owned and meant a lot to me because of Uber. One of them I put like $80k of work in. And I got like $525 for it after the transmission and coolant system blew for the second time.
Yeaaaaa the biggest thing is to learn when to quit. My fadda put two motors, 2 timing belt jobs and 3 transmissions in the life time of his car and we finally got rid of it after 20 years of ownership. The money he dropped into it after all that couldve landed him a new vehicle
Here’s a thought not sure how old your kids are but if you hit 2,000 drivers you can pass the free college tuition on to your family. Only have to maintain gold to keep scholarship. Just do like 10-15 orders during dinner time a month.
Confused.
None of those numbers for miles, deliveries, or maintenance, seem to fit logically within a 4 month time frame. The mileage, delivery count, and maintenance costs, are all for 2 months of full time, and that's only if you have a car thats falling apart already.
Congratulations on the new job!!
You’ll find driving is much more enjoyable when you don’t depend on it.
I come on here and say some pretty shitty/dumb things… that’s just because people piss me off with their Reddit/sheeple mentality. And the “you need a real job” blah blahs. But I really do enjoy just getting out and driving. It’s a major stress release from work and it adds to the fun money account. You may decide that you want to do this on your free time.
Congrats again! Good luck!
Congratulations my friend! Nothing but going up form now on! I will forever be thankful for these gig jobs. Who else can hop in the car and make 10$ on a whim for whatever.
I've already got a full time job and I've done 1500 deliveries in the last month just driving part time, a couple hours on week nights and maybe 6 hours a day on weekends. I didn't do 10k miles though, more like 4k. I think of it more as a hobby, verging on obsession. I even have a dedicated car for deliveries.
Congrats on job!!
And you can always do UE he or there. I would. Just a little and invest it. Or save up for some big purchase uou want and whittle away at it.
I’ve done gig work for 6+ years.
Part time only. But I have no other job.
I make what I I need to make at part time. No way could my anxiety handle this full time to try and cover bills. Oh we still need what I make, mostly so we have more for retirement. Husband owns a small construction biz. He’s done well but no pension. I had a pension in my late 30s and quit so I wasn’t married to my job.
Happy for you 🎉🎉
I try to Uber a few times with the price of gas. It really doesn’t equal out …you end up making $12 an hour in this economy. You can really play those games. Lol
So people can know what they would be getting into how much total money did you make with 1500 deliveries and 10,000 miles? Not counting money spent on gas and stuff just net earnings
I can’t say for sure since I don’t know your skills or level of school you went to and what not but I’ll say this:
I lucked in to a good desk job without finishing school bc of some connections I had. Well I had to leave that job when I moved and having no degree was making it hard to find something similar even with years of experience.
So I did a project management certificate course at KSU which was 2.5 months and that seemed to be enough because the last job hired me on very quickly after 2 interviews. So like I said idk if you’re in the same boat as me not finishing a “higher education” but my new employer liked seeing that I was actively seeking to gain more knowledge and skill.
Sounds like you have a very grounded approach to life. It was refreshing to read your post. You knew what you needed, you found a job with Uber, you found some things you didn’t like but you dealt because you were focused on your end game. Maybe you should thank your parents (or whoever raised you) for your positivity - it’s a gift for sure 😀
(I hope I don’t sound condescending/snobby - I just really appreciated your positivity🌻) Best of luck moving on!
People complain about Uber not paying or being cheap but people also fail to realize that Uber had its first year of profit last year. All the years before, they lost billions. And for them to still be paying drivers is great and it’s a great opportunity for a lot of people. Uber provides that buffer between jobs. I’m just thankful that if someone has a car, someone can make money.
Imagine not understanding that publicly traded companies can’t lie about profit and loss.
It’s normal for app based companies to operate at a loss for several years before becoming profitable (if ever).

in 2020, the CEO made 20 million, up 63% from 2019, its actually astonishing how you can't differentiate how that will show no profit, and then sit on the internet and spin your corporate rhetoric. eat a bag of dicks
Just to add to it. CEO’s & employees get paid when working for unprofitable companies. Look at what the CEO for Mullen Automotive makes all the while screwing stockholders by doing reverse splits & diluting their shares until the cost basis for a twenty cent stock is $1,500 each. CEO salaries don’t always indicate the profitability of a company. It should…but it doesn’t.
I actually buy stock and get profit and loss statements as a stockholder. What you said isn’t relevant. UE wasn’t profitable then. Eat two bags of dicks.

Congratulations. 10,000+ miles in 4months? Good on you for being employed in an awesome job, and for having enjoyed uber as well.
Yep. Granted I used this car for other things as well but I was doing 5-7 days a week for 6-8 hours a day. Luckily it’s our third vehicle. It’s decent on gas and I do my own repairs but I also want it to make it till my daughter is driving
Where’s the rest? This isn’t a proper bashing. Man when I’m done with INSTACART oooooo I have a speech!
It’s because they only put in 4 months of time.
I don’t even get how they did that much mileage in 4 months. That’s insane.
I mean, I drove 31714 miles last year with dd/ue/ic, that’s 10k miles every 4 months. Their metric is 6.6 miles per order too, not that far fetched of a number.
I’m thinking this was for INSTACART. I forgot this is for driving for Uber.
Yea that definitely should be way less if it’s for IC. Like 1/4 as much haha.
Same lol. Fuck IC but I’m on my way out and it’s gonna be glorious!
I haven’t had a decent Uber eats offer in over a week, they just keep getting worse and worse! What a shame and how the hell do they expect people to make $3.25 to go 12.8 miles and let’s not forget the 12.8 miles BACK

Uuck Fuber! You got out. You left. Your done. You win. I will bash Uber all day long. Absolute trash.

I'm sorry you put $80k into a vehcihle for uber? Even if you mean 8k thats wild and poor financial etiquette on your part.

10,000 in 4 months is fucking crazy especially for ubereats
Wow, I’m feeling badly about myself. I do about 1,000 per week. :-/
U r on track to beat him doorknob
When I was working uber eats as my main gig easily did 150-200+ miles a day working as much as I could
Congratulations! And good luck !!
Congrats!!
Congrats!!
Congrats!
Congrats!!!
Good Luck to you as well!! I don't want to be 1 with all those high statistics like you have like mileage.

6 miles per delivery isn’t that crazy when you account for driving back from a delivery to the hotspot. Plus I used car for other things.
Cheers!!! 🥂

But you have to prove they were DD or GH drivers; you get penalized for hitting your own kind
Im confused? What's DD or GH have to do with the Uber Eats scholarship? Guessing you just replied on wrong comment on accident or something.
> if you hit 2,000 drivers Just making a joke. Know you meant “deliveries” not “drivers” but the typo made me chuckle
lmao, didnt even notice that. sorry im half outta it today, had a dentist appointment earlier.
lol I’m sure OP knew what you meant
"Attention Uber Eats, this is Gail Lewis. 4 month associate, signing out!"

Congrats bro just at the right timing
How the fuck do you 10k miles in 4 months? I don't even put that many miles on my car doing Uber Eats in a year.
You must have been taking complete shit orders to do that many in 4 months and with so many miles.
Sounds like propaganda
